《The Second Fujioka [ohshc][Mori Love Story]》Chapter 15

It's another weekend and Aimi was back at her manor sitting in the front room reading a book. Aimi looked up and saw Edward stood behind her, "No telling my grandparents about Haruhi and dad coming over, understand?" She questioned and he nodded, "If you tell, I'll replace you."
"I understand mistress," Edward said and the doorbell rang, "Please excuse me a moment," He said and walked to the front door.
Aimi waved him off and carried on reading, "Mistress, you have a guest," Edward said and opened the door, "Please go in, she's been expecting you both," Edward bowed to the elderly couple who walked in.
Aimi looked up from her book and saw her grandparents walked in, she smiled and sat up straighter looking at him, "Hello grandmother, grandfather," Aimi placed her bookmark in the book and closed it standing up then walked to them.
"Aimi, darling, you're looking well," Grandmother said with a smile and she walked to Aimi, the two hugged kissing cheeks.
Aimi looked at her grandfather, "Hello, grandfather," Aimi said with a smile and walked to him. She kissed his kiss, "How was the journey here?" She asked them both and looked at Edward, "Edward, bring some tea and biscuits please."
"Certainly mistress," Edward bowed and walked out shutting the door.
The three sat down, "The journey was a success and there wasn't much traffic at all," Aimi's grandfather told her, "Aimi, I have to ask you again... Do you see your younger sibling?"
"I do because we are in the same class. She got a scholarship at Ouran Academy, but that's it. Only during school hours," Aimi told him looking him in the eyes.
"There's nothing we can do about that," Aimi's grandmother said and smiled a little, "Your father?"
"I emailed him to let him know I arrived safely but that is all. We send emails and letters, but nothing face-to-face," Aimi told her.
"That's absolutely fine," Her grandfather said and looked around, "You've changed a bit of the mansion inside," He commented.

"Yes, I have made it more homely for myself," Aimi told him and there was another knock at the door, "My, my, I sure am popular today," Aimi said and Edward walked in placing the tray down. Edward poured three cups of tea then bowed going to the door.
"I'm sorry, but my mistress is busy today... Can you come back later?" Edward spoke and Aimi glanced at the door.
"Busy? Busy doing what?!" Tamaki shouted.
"We need to see her right now," Hikaru spoke in a loud tone.
"My, my, you do have some people who know you with loud mouths," Grandfather commented.
"Hey! You can't go in there!" Edward shouted and the door opened.
Aimi picked up her book and walked to the door, "Aimi! How can you be so mean t-" Tamaki started but was cut off by Aimi slamming her book into his face making him floor backwards, "W-What was that for?!"
"Everyone, please meet my grandparents, Ichigo Katayama my grandfather and Sakura Katayama my grandmother on my mothers' side," Aimi introduced her grandparents then looked at Tamaki, "So who was I mean to?" She glared at him.
"N-No one!" Tamaki stood up and looked at the elderly couple with a small smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you both, I'm Tamaki Suou," He introduced himself.
Aimi walked back to her seat and sat down, "Since you're here, you might as well come in," Aimi sighed putting her book on the side, "Forgive my actions grandfather, grandmother not very ladylike," Aimi looked away.
"It's quite alright Aimi, who are your friends?" Ichigo asked.
"Tamaki Suou and Kyoya Ootori, 2nd year, Mitsukuni Haninozuka and Takashi Morinozuka cousins and 3rd year, Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin classmates of mine so they are 1st years as well," Aimi introduced them as they found a seat, "Edward can you get us some more tea for my friends."
"Certainly mistress, I'll bring in some cake as well," Edward bowed again and walked out.

"So, do you have any female friends by any chance?" Sakura asked looking at Aimi.
"None that I'm close to enough that they would come around uninvited," Aimi glanced at the Host Club.
"Are you saying that you do not enjoy our visits?!" Tamaki exclaimed.
Aimi looked away ignoring him and looked at her grandparents, "What's with the visit? You told me you wouldn't show up without a reason, what is it?" She asked.
"Oh dear, I thought we would have more fun until we got to work," Sakura sighed, "My love, please tell her... I cannot."
"Aimi, you're nearly 16 years old, we married at 17, engaged at 16," Ichigo started to explain and Aimi looked at him, "How about we continue this conversation somewhere private?"
"How about we do not continue this conversation anywhere at all," Aimi suggested and sipped her cup of tea, "As I told you when I was 9 years old, I am not interested in your arranged marriages."
"My, my... and I was going to let you choose one of these boys," Ichigo smirked at his granddaughter, "Still a no?"
"Not interested and you can't make me. Remember what I said, if you force me to do something I do not want I leave and you're company rumbles with no strength to hold it up," Aimi looked at him, "Do you want that?"
"You'll lose your rank and your school if you do that," Ichigo smirked and chuckled.
"Precautious have already been made in case of that incident," She told him.
"You really are his daughter aren't you?" Sakura smiled, "Of course, Aimi, you hold the cards... We need you so we won't push anything on you. You have my word."
"Can I have it in writing? You know words mean nothing in the eye of the law, in writing however it does," Aimi tilted her head looking at her grandfather and it seems like there's energy clashing between the pair of them.
"Aimi," Mori speaks and she looked at him, "Please, you scary Mitsunkuni and the others," He said and looked at the others but him and Kyoya who are cowering behind him.
Sakura stood up, "Aimi, I just wanted to tell you that you can see your father and sister if you sign your name on formal documents to say you are the next heir," She walked to her granddaughter handing over a folder.
Aimi took the folder, opened and read through the documents with the hosts behind her looking at it, "If I sign these I can see my father and sister, out of classes?" She looked at her grandparents and they nodded, "But I'd have to give up the Fujioka name and take on Katayama?"
"That is correct, Fujioka is a common name and you wouldn't be taken seriously," Ichigo said with a smirk.
"I'd also have to leave and return to your home, correct?" Aimi questioned.
"Yes you would," Ichigo nodded.
"I'll sign these documents as I will be the next heir, but I stay here and I keep Fujioka as my last name and I see my family. You need me more than I need you," Aimi said removing documents she doesn't want.
Ichigo sighed, "Very well Aimi, you win... Again..." He scolded at her.
"Another thing, my father and sister move in here with me. If they want," Aimi smirked.
"What?!" Ichigo questioned and stood up, "You pathetic child!"
"I'll leave if you don't," She said.
"V-Very well," Ichigo ground his teeth.
Aimi signed the documents handing it to her grandmother, "I'm glad we came to an agreement," She said.
Her grandparents stood up, "We won't be in Japan long Aimi, I hope we see each other again," Sakura smiled and they left.
"Not with him you won't..." Aimi muttered and looked at the Host Club, "Hurry up and finish your teas so we can go see dad and Haruhi."

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx.
