《Hero Of Olympus》I make a new friend

When I regained consciousness or awareness, I knew I was dead.

I felt absolutely weightless. I just had to lean forward to move. Maybe Charon would give me a free pass to the underworld. I didn't see any point in reflecting back on my life. Well atleast I went out with a bang. I probably made quite a big grave for myself.

I could see DOA recording studios infront of me. Instead of sending me off somewhere for safekeeping, the Primordials basically killed me.

I was about to enter when I felt cold all of a sudden and my vision went off for a second and came back. When it did return I was in a different place. I was on an island, one very similar to Ogygia.

I saw a small house made of wooden planks. It didn't seem as if there were any invisible air servants here. Yet, the place had an odd air to it. I walked up to the door and knocked twice.

"Hello?" I called out.

There wasn't any lock on the door so I simply pushed it open. The place was very well furnished. It had a luxurious looking kick sized bed pushed to the back wall. There was a book shelf around seven feet tall with a bunch of books who's tittles I didn't bother to read. There was even a bathroom and fireplace. I looked at myself in a polished bronze mirror beside the bed and frowned. I looked perfectly normal. I also realised I had walked all the way here so that meant I was still alive. Cool.

I walked out of the house and looked around me. The plants, trees and even the water seemed to be holding its breath. Something here was off and I just couldn't place a finger on what it was.

I put my hand in my pocket and held onto Riptide. There didn't seem to be anything alive on the island. If that was so, why did I feel as if I wasn't the only one on the island? I was seriously getting spooked.

I needed to explore but decided not to go into the island but rather stick to the coast. I walked around not looking for anything in particular.

Upon climbing over a mound of sand on the beach, I came across something that made my blood run cold. Right in front of me, about thirty yards away, was a golden sarcophagus, Kronos' sarcophagus.

I had no idea what to do. The entire thing glowed and sent shivers up my spine. I was terrified. I held Riptide in front of me and slowly approached it. I then pushed off the lid and readied my sword.

What I saw inside looked disgusting. There was a body which looked all mangled and broken in many places with holes. There were slices and long scars running across the body. The eyes were empty sockets. Kronos would've probably looked handsome when he was alive but now whatever he was reduced to, it looked horrible. This was the first time I or any demigod had ever seen the physical form of Kronos.

It didn't make sense how the sarcophagus even ended up on this island since I thought it had been blown up on the Princess Andromeda.

All of a sudden, there was a golden flash to my left. I turned to see a woman, who was most likely a godess or titaness. She had jet black hair that cascaded down here shoulder. She wore a surprisingly modern black dress which glittered in many places. Her face was beautiful and would probably even give Aphrodite some tough competition. Her eyes were as black as the night but glittered every now and then.

"Uh hi."

The goddess studied me for a second before sighing and snapping her fingers, causing the lid of the sarcophagus to lift up and go back to how it was before I pushed it off.

"Perseus Jackson, who sent you here?" The goddess asked.

"Tartarus."

"Do you take me for a fool?" The goddess snarled.

Bad start.

I held up my hands, along with my sword. I probably looked more challenging than surrendering. "That's the truth. He threw me into camp half blood and I'm pretty sure I died on impact. I then appeared here. I know I'm good at disrespecting super powerful immortals and all, but that's only when they're annoying me."

"Name one immortal you've dared to disrespect."

"Thunder pants, Ares, Janus, Mars, Gaia, Nyx, Tartarus, Hyperion, Iapetus, Atlas. Hmm... Polybotes, Alcyoneus, Otis, Ephiates, the Grey sisters, the Fates and a few others." I replied with a shrug.

The goddess raised her eyebrow before smirking and nodding in approval, clearly impressed that I was still breathing.

"Um no disrespect or anything, but who are you?"

"Asteria, goddess of Stars."

"Oh cool I met your mom and dad in Tartarus!"

"Really?" Asteria's eyes shot up excitedly.

"Yeah they were looking for you and Leto."

The goddess of stars gave me a wide smile that made me look away since her teeth and eyes were blinding me.

"What's that doing here?" I asked her, pointing to the sarcophagus.

"It just washed up here a year ago. I haven't bothered to do anything about it since the Titan lord's essence is scattered across Tartarus and will take at least 4 millennia to even become conscious. And he was also nice to me when I was a child so I'm happy to keep him on my island." Asteria replied with a shrug.

"You live here?"

"Yes I do. After forming the island Delos, I decided to leave when my nephew and niece were born and inhabited this island, which is extremely close to Delos."

I didn't know if it was okay to tell her about what the Primordials did to me but since I was practically stranded there, I decided to give her a short summary of what happened to me.

"I've never been in the physical presence of a Primordial," Asteria said once I was finished. "Lady Gaia asked me to support her in the war but I decided to stay neutral since war and fighting isn't really my thing."

I noticed that the spooky feeling had disappeared off the island and the entire place looked beautiful. The stars had come out and lit up the sky magnificently.

"Wow!" Even Alaska didn't have these many stars.

"Thank you," Asteria said, winking at me.

That's when I remembered she was the goddess of stars and blushed. Her presence probably made the stars more visible.

"The Primordials probably had a reason for bringing you to me. I'm not sure what it is but you're welcome to stay here for as long as you like. I've been lonely for several thousand years since I rarely visit Olympus or the mortal world."

Most immortals give me some task or quest so I wasn't used to one being nice to me and welcoming me to stay on the island. "Thank you Asteria," I said smiling at her.

The goddess smiled and led the way to the house where we would be staying.

"You can sleep on the bed since as a goddess I don't really need any sleep," Asteria said.

Upon entering the house, Asteria snapped her fingers, causing two pizzas and two sprites to appear on the table.

Looking at the food, my stomach growled, which I tried to cover up by clearing my throat but that didn't help as Asteria smirked.

I scrapped a slice of my pizza into the fireplace, which lit up on its own. "To Asteria."

The goddess smiled at me warmly before beginning to eat. I realised how lonely it would've been to eat three meals a day for thousands of years all alone. For some reason I really wanted to give her company and make her happy to express my gratitude to her for letting me stay.

As soon as I finished my meal, there was a big boom that startled me.

Asteria seemed as clueless as me, so me being me, I uncapped Riptide and ran out of the house.
