*Kate*
I woke up the next morning with a terrible headache from crying. I dragged myself to the shower and washed up. After pulling on some clothes I went into the kitchen and started making breakfast for Val and myself. When she came down, she was all smiles. Even though I was heart broken, I smiled back at her.
A few moments later, my phone started ringing. It was Matt. I raised my eyebrow and slid the phone over to Val.
"I think it's for you." I told her.
Val smiled and answered the phone.
"Hi baby." She said. Her face fell from happy, to worried.
"He wants to talk to you." She said.
I slowly reached out and took the phone out of her hand and brought it to my ear.
"Hi Matt." I said questioningly. I heard him sigh
"Kate, there's been an accident last night." Matt said.
My heart fell to the floor. I clutched the sides of the table and Val reached over and grabbed my arm.
"An accident? What happened?" I managed to choke out.
Matt sighed.
"He got cut pretty bad on some glass and we had to take him to the hospital to get him stitched up." He said.
A few tears slid out of my eyes and I felt everything start to spin. Val started rubbing my arm and she put her other arm around my shoulder.
"Is he okay?" I asked quietly. I heard some muffled sounds in the background.
"Why don't you ask him." Matt said.
I heard some shuffling then some light breathing.
"Kate?" I heard Brian's voice.
Just the sound of it made me start to break down and cry. He sounded so weak and frail.
"Baby? What happened to you?" I barely managed to say.
"First, I want you to know something. I was never unfaithful to you. I love you Kate, more than anyone and I would never do anything to jeopordize that." He said.
I smiled slightly and nodded, even though he couldn't see me.
"Okay, but why did you hurt yourself Brian?" I asked him.
Brian gasped into the phone slightly.
"Kate, do you really think I did this to myself?" He asked me. He actually sounded a little hurt.
"I don't know Brian. What am I supposed to think? I get a random phone call saying you've had an accident and needed stitched back up, and all I can think is that you've tried to kill yourself after arguing with me." I told him. Val's eyes grew wide and she brought a hand to her mouth.

I forgot I didn't tell her we fought last night.
"Kate, I would never do that to you. It was Aubrey. Her and I got into a fight after I wouldn't sleep with her. She got pissed and hit me with a bottle. When it broke, it cut me pretty deep and I had to get stitches." Brian said.
My hands turned into fists and I closed my eyes.
"That bitch." I said through gritted teeth. Brian chuckled.
"Don't worry baby, she won't be bothering us anymore." He said.
I sighed and relaxed in my chair. Pinkly was whining so I picked her up.
"Kate, I love you." Brian said softly. I smiled and closed my eyes.
"I love you too." I said back just as softly.
I heart some more mumbling in the background and Brian sighed.
"I'm sorry baby, I have to go. We have a show tonight." He told me. I could tell that he was frustrated.
"It's alright Brian. Good luck tonight." I told him. He sighed again.
"Thanks. I love you Kate." He said. I could hear a slight smile in his voice.
"I love you too Brian." I told him, and then we hung up.
As soon as we did, I sighed loudly and put my elbows on the table and put my head in my hands.
"What the hell happened!" Val shouted. I groaned and told her the story.
"I'm gonna kill that bitch." Val said. I laughed and went to sit in the living room.
Val wasn't laughing. The look on her face was dead serious. I tilted my head and patted the space beside me.
"I'm serious. I hate girls like her. They will do anything in their power to wreck a relationship just to sleep with the Rock Star." She said. I could see something in her eyes. Like she was remembering something that happened.
"Val, what happened?" I asked her. She sighed and sat back on the couch.
"She was a PR rep and it was when the band just started out and I used to tour with them then. Well, this bitch was obsessed with Matt. She followed him every where like a sick puppy. It was so annoying. What put the icing on the cake was when she told Matt that I slept with Brian to see if he'd break it off with me." She said.

My mouth hung open and I just stared at her.
"Did he?" I asked. Val smiled and shook her head.
"Not a snowball's chance in hell. We've been together since we were 14, and Brian is his best friend, he knew we'd never do that even if we were so fucked up we didn't even know our names. But when I found out it was her that told him, I beat the living hell out of her. I even broke three of her ribs. I just hate girls like that and this Aubrey needs her ass kicked." Val said.
I nodded and laughed.
"Well leave the ass kicking to me. You've got a baby in there to take care of." I told her.
She laughed too and we turned on the TV. About an hour later, there was a knock on the door. I got up and opened it. Standing there, holding two boxes of pizza and a full bag of junk food, was Chase.
"I just thought you guys could use some pick me ups." He said with his crooked smile.
I smiled back and let him walk in the house. He went to the kitchen and set the food on the table.
"Thanks Chase. Will you stay and have some with us?" I asked him.
Chase shrugged and nodded.
"Why not. I have a few hours to spare." He said.
Val was making noises from the couch so I went over to see what she was doing. I couldn't help but laugh as I saw her struggling to get up from the couch.
"Don't just stand there help me!" She shouted. I laughed harder and Chase came to the other side and took her hand.
"Okay, ready? 1..2..3!" Chase said and we pulled her up slowly.
"Thanks!" Val said with a smile and she waddled to the kitchen.
"She's really getting close now isn't she?" He asked me. I nodded.
"Mhm, she's just about seven months now." I told him. He nodded and we went to the kitchen to have pizza.
When we finished eating, Val went to take a nap and Chase and I went out to the porch and sat on the swing. Pinkly was sitting in my lap and just starting to drift asleep.
"Well you look a lot better today, if I may say so." Chase said. I smiled at him and nodded.
"Yeah, I am better now." I told him. He nodded and started slightly swinging us.
"Have you talked to Brian?" He asked. I nodded.
"Yeah, we had a fight last night and I thought he was cheating on me for sure. But turns out, he wasn't and that bitch cut him with a bottle and he needed stitches." I said to him.
Chase shook his head and let out a whistle.
"Wow, that's crazy. Is he alright?" He asked. I nodded.
"Sure he's fine. He's playing a show tonight. But what matters is he told me that he still loves me. I feel so much better." I told him.
Chase gave me a slight smile and put his hand on mine.
"I'm glad Kate. I really am, I hated seeing you like that. I just hope that things work out for you." He said. I nodded.
"Thank you Chase." I said. He nodded and looked out into the sky.
"I should get going, I've got soccer practice soon." He said as he stood up. I lifted Pinkly up and stood up too.
"Thanks again for stopping by with the munchies." I said with a smile. He chuckled.
"No problem babe, just doing my job." He said. I giggled.
"Your job? As what?" I asked.
Chase started down the steps and he turned to face me.
"Your best friend of course." He said with his crooked smile.
I laughed and nodded.
"Of course." I said. He smiled wided and waved at me before starting to jog down the driveway.
Pinkly started licking at my hand and I lifted her to my face. She stretched out her neck and licked my nose. I giggled and held her back in my arms.
"I'm happy too girl. I'm happy too." I told her. Pinkly yipped and I went back into the house, happier than I'd been since the boys left.

Borne of Desire
A man given a new lease on life finds himself amongst pokemon. From his memories of pokemon as a whole, he assumes the power of pokemon and the world around him runs on convenient fate, rule of cool, and cheesy friendship just like any other anime. Unfortunately for everyone else, he's 100% right. NOTE: If Borne of Caution is an attempt at a coherent and realistic look at pokemon, then, Borne of Desire is the opposite. It's all the mindless indulgence I DONT want in a serious story. It's a very seat-of-my-pants for-fun project and is written with no storyboard. Updates will be inconsistent and quality cannot be assured. Not to be taken too seriously.
