"Hey it's alright baby, I'm here."
"He killed you. He killed you and- and-", Karl held tight onto Sapnaps shirt, not finishing his sentence.
This was his first time being a hunter and he would've never expected it to weight this hard on his mental well being.
"I'm alive, here", he placed Karl hand over his heart, "You can feel it, I'm alive and there's nothing you have to worry about."
Karl was shaking and sobbing, holding onto Sapnap like he was his last safe heaven.
"I didn't do anything about it, I'm so sorry. I couldn't safe you Sapnap", he sobbed, face hidden in his boyfriends shirt.
Soothingly Sapnap ran his fingers through Karl's curly hair, softly kissed his head and reassured him, that he was okay and that Karl didn't do anything wrong.
"Everything is okay darling. I understand that that was a really scary situation for you, I should've talked you through it before. I'm sorry baby.", Sapnap mumbled, kissing Karl again.
Karl touched his chest, right were he saw Dreams sword hit through skin and for a second he relived the moment.
He never wanted to see that again.
Gently Sapnap took Karl's hand, made him lift up the shirt.
"See, not even a scratch.", he said, tried to sound encouraging, "Can you breath with me darling?"
Karl nodded, imitating Sapnaps deep breaths, until he was in control again.
"We can stop this, if you want. You don't need to be a hunter."
Karl was just about to reply, when they saw a dark figure jump over their heads, landing only a few feet away from them.
It was Dream. His axe in his right and a shield in his left hand.
He quickly approached them, already lifting his axe, when he was suddenly hit by a blade.

He stumbled backwards some steps, falling to the ground and soon faced Karl, holding up his sword.
"Don't you dare touch him ever again!", he yelled at Dream with tears in his eyes.
Dream looked up at Karl with widened eyes, started to panic, when he couldn't reach for his shield, that he had dropped.
"Karl, we can talk this out, you're clearly upset, we can-"
"No! This ends now!", Karl said and soon his sword hit through Dreams chest.
The body disappeared and Dream would respawn back where they started.
Sapnap quickly walked up to Karl, pulled him into a hug.
"We won, no. No, you won.", Sapnap said.
"I just didn't want him to do it again.", Karl whispered, pulling Sapnap closer.
He was shaking, legs got so weak, that he fell to his knees.
Sapnap held him, kissed him softly and talked him through the rush of adrenaline and emotions.
Suddenly Karl took Sapnaps hands kissed them and said: "Please don't ever be a hunter again, I don't want to actually loose you some day, please."
"Okay, I promise I won't. I won't hunt again."
"I don't know what I would've done if you'd died.", Karl whispered, kissing Sapnaps hands again, "I would've never forgiven myself."
"Karl, baby, your thoughts are spiraling. Come on do some focus with me here. You see that tree over there?"
Karl nodded. "What kind of tree is it?"
"Oak." "Right and that one, over there?"
"Birch." "That's right and you see that bird over there? What color is it?"
"It's red."
Sapnap kissed his forehead.
"That's right too and now look at me and describe how I look to you."
Karl looked at him and his eyes teared up.
"I see the most beautiful man on this planet, that I couldn't be a day without. I see gorgeous eyes and perfectly messy hair. I see everything I'm grateful to wake up to."
"God, I love you."
"I love you too. I love you so much."
