《It All Started With A Lie》{27}

"And that's your homework," our teacher said as the bell rang.
I sighed, grabbing my things, and getting out of there. "Olivia!" I turned around in confusion, seeing Daniel jogging up to me.
"Hi," I smiled.
"Hi, do you have a minute?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure. What's up?" I asked, walking with him.
"Nothing with me, I just heard you and Ethan had a fight, I was just worried," he shrugged.
"He said we had a fight?" I frowned in confusion. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I wasn't even that upset with him. He didn't even really yell at me, he just... yelled.
"Uh, yeah. Didn't you?" Daniel questioned.
"I don't um... I..."
"Anyway, are you coming today? We were all supposed to hang out, right?" he asked.
"Yeah, I don't really know about that, maybe I'll talk to Ethan and let you know? I mean, if we're fighting, which we apparently are then..." I trailed off with a small shrug.
"Right, right, makes sense. Anyway, I'll uh see you around?"
I nodded, "Bye."
"Bye," he smiled, jogging to catch up with someone in the crowd we were all a part of. He bumped into someone. I couldn't see, I just saw Daniel's back and the top of someone's head. "Sorry, man," Daniel laughed before continuing.
I stopped at my locker, not thinking anything of it. I dropped my notebook. I clicked my tongue in frustration, kneeling to pick it up. When I stood up, I saw Daniel coming back. I watched carefully as he exchanged words with someone. That someone turned around and was... Justin?
What the-
I stood up, still watching Daniel's retreating figure while blindly digging around in my bag. I snapped out of it when my locker door was slammed shut. I gasped, turning to the front.
"Can't you answer your damn phone? I've been looking everywhere for you!" Ethan exclaimed.
"Really?" I scoffed, "Why? I thought we were fighting," I mumbled, opening my locker and putting the extra books back.
"What?" he frowned, seemingly confused.
"What?" I rolled my eyes, turning to him.
"We're fighting? Jesus, Olive, it's not that big of a deal, why are we fighting?"
"You're fighting?" I looked to my right and saw Skylar.

"Apparently," Ethan shrugged.
"But you-" I tried to explain.
"No buts. Kiss and make up. We're all hanging out so grab your bags. Austin said he'll send you the location, see you there," Skylar sang while heading to the exit. I stared at Ethan, extremely confused.
Daniel just said that Ethan told him we were fighting.
Then why is Ethan so clueless?
"But you..." I trailed off, staring at him quizzically.
"What?" he whined, leaning against the locker beside mine, tilting his head to the side as he stared at me. "What did I do?" he pouted.
"Didn't you tell D-"
"Hey!" We both turned around to see Daniel standing there. "Are you guys coming?" he asked.
Ethan turned to me expectantly. "Up to you," he shrugged.
"I don't wanna ruin the day, yeah, let's just go," I sighed, pulling my bag over my shoulder.
"You should know I don't let you carry that by now," Ethan mumbled, taking it from me. "We'll see you there," Ethan nodded, opening the passenger door for me while Daniel walked to his car.
"Thanks," I said absentmindedly.
Once he got into the car, he turned all his attention to me. "Okay, look. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled, but you know I wasn't yelling at you, right? I was just frustrated. I really wanted to beat the crap out of Justin but because you're mature and logical, you didn't let me, and you were saying you don't care but the thing is, I do. I care. And I care because I care about you, does that make sense?" he rambled.
"I'm not mad at you for yelling!" I exclaimed, grabbing either side of his head, hoping to shake some sense into him. Literally.
"Then?" he asked in confusion.
"I wasn't-" I huffed, resisting a scream. "I wasn't answering your texts because I was in class, actually trying to understand math cause I don't, unlike you. And I was gonna come find you after going to my locker but Daniel caught me on the way and he said you told him we were fighting which is why he was wondering if we're all still hanging out today. Got it?" I ranted.
"What? I didn't tell Daniel we were fighting," he mumbled, "I haven't had a class with Daniel since right before lunch."

"Then why would he come up to me and say we were fighting?" I thought out loud.
"Maybe he just assumed," Ethan shrugged as his phone dinged with Austin's text of the location. It's ice skating. It's like twenty minutes away.
"I'm almost 100% sure he said you told him we were fighting," I sighed. "I even saw him talking to Justin," I mumbled under my breath.
"Whatever, the point is... are we fighting?" he asked, grabbing my hand and putting our held hands on my thigh.
"No," I shrugged, looking at him while fidgeting with my earring. "No, we're not fighting," I smiled.
"Okay, good. If I wasn't driving right now, I'd kiss you. Just letting you know," he said, kissing the back of my hand.
"Good to know," I laughed. Once we pulled up and climbed out, heading for the counter to get skates, Ethan grabbed my hand and pulled me back. "Ethan, we're out with friends," I chuckled when he started kissing my cheek, trailing kisses down my jaw.
"I don't care," he mumbled.
"I do," I whispered before slowly pushing him away. "I need a jacket, it's cold in here," I said, rocking our hands back and forth as we followed the others.
"I have a spare hoodie in my car, want me to go get it?" he asked.
"Please?" I chuckled.
"Only if you come with me," he smirked.
"Oh, boy. They're not coming back," Austin sighed, pulling Skylar by her hand to get their skates.
"5 minutes," Ethan said, already pulling me back outside. We got to his car where he got his hoodie from a bag in his trunk first and handed it to me.
"Put it on," I demanded, giving it back to him.
He chuckled, holding it up. I put my arms through first and then he pulled it over my head. "You look cute," he grinned, pulling my hair out and throwing it over my shoulders before tucking my hair behind my ears.
"Oh, do I?" I chuckled taunting him.
"I can't call my girlfriend cute?" he smirked.
"Girlfriend?" I smiled.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I can't wait longer," he sighed, "It doesn't have to make a difference, we still act the same, right?"
"Hmm, right," I laughed. I looked down at the sleeves that ran past my arms. "Hey, look at that," I giggled, flapping my arms around, the sleeves flailing around.
He grabbed the hoodie in his fist and pulled me forward. I grabbed onto his arms, one hand of his resting on my waist, the other holding the back of my neck as his lips fell onto mine. I don't know if I'm the only one that feels this between us, but it's like every time we kiss, it's like a click. Like the right piece of a puzzle being put together. Like a lock clicking into place. It feels nice. It feels... complete.
"Everyone's waiting," I mumbled against his lips while he hoisted me onto the hood of his car. I put my hands on the car, leaning back and looking at him but he grabbed them and put them around his neck, kissing me again. "You really can't keep it in your pants when you want me," I laughed, pushing him back and sliding off his car.
"No. No, I really can't," he laughed, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Well, just keep in mind. I'm still on my period," I whispered, taking him inside.
"Right, that's one way to ruin the mood," he mumbled. We went, exchanged our shoes for skates, and sat down to pull them on. "Are you any good at ice skating?" he asked while tieing my laces for me.
"Nope," I said while looking around.
"No?" he laughed, looking up at me.
"Nope," I shook my head, "I can't ice skate for my life."
"Then you're lucky I'm a pro," he smirked.
I looked down at him, smiling, slightly impressed. "Then teach me your ways," I chuckled while he helped me stand up.
"Not too tight? Not too loose?" he asked, looking down at my skates.
"No, they're good. Thanks," I grinned.
"Okay," he said, stepping into the rink, holding his hands out for me.
"I'm not walking out of here without scratches and bruises, am I?" I asked, rolling my tongue along the inside of my cheek while eyeing the ice.
"Maybe a few but I'll catch you," he winked.
"You better," I said before grabbing his hands. I stepped onto the ice, already almost losing my balance. I'm so lucky he caught me. That would have been ugly.
"God, you really don't know how to ice skate," he laughed, skating backward and pulling me along.
"God, say that one more time, I dare you," I said sweetly.
