《It All Started With A Lie》{28}

"Olivia!" I laughed, not even bothering to stand up as she fell into my lap.

"I'm trying," she laughed, attempting to stand up once again, only to fall in my lap. She started getting up again and I took my shot and stood up, catching her waist just in time as she started falling again. "Ethan, I can't do this," she whined, kicking her legs around while she hung in my arms.

I had my arms locked under hers while I tried pulling her up but she was acting like dead weight. "Olivia, stand up," I chuckled.

"No," she looked up at me.

"Stand up, come on," I laughed. She tried, only falling again, almost taking me down with her. "Oh, shit," I laughed, pulling her up slowly.

"I'm just not gonna move my feet," she chuckled.

"Then how are you going to stand?!" I exclaimed.

"I don't know!" she laughed.

"Need a little help?" We both stopped laughing and looked forward at Daniel. Olivia looked up at me.

"Uh, yeah, sure," I shrugged.

"No, that's uh, that's okay, try again," she laughed, looking up at me.

"No help? You sure?" he asked her. Something's off. Something's up with him.

"Sure," she nodded, giving him an awkward smile. He left and continued skating around.

"Olivia, stand up. My back in gonna break, I've been hunched over for like twenty minutes," I laughed.

"I'm trying!" she yelled, shrieking when she fell on her ass as I let her go. "Ethan!" she squealed, pushing at my legs, causing me to stumble.

"Stand up!" I laughed.

"Help me!" she laughed. We're just dying of laughter out here, this is not good. I grabbed onto her hands, keeping my feet gripped to the ice as best as I could, and helped her up. Surprise, surprise, the girl can stand up.

"You were just making it harder for me, weren't you?" I smirked knowingly.

"Yes, I was," she grinned, grabbing onto me tighter.

"Jesus," I chuckled, shaking my head. I stood against the railing for a minute, my feet starting to ache.

"Your feet hurt?" she asked.

"Yeah," I nodded, looking around the place. It wasn't that crowded, it was Monday, to be fair.

"Mine too," she mumbled. I leaned my elbows against the railing while she stood in front of me, grabbing onto my waist, looking around as I was. "It's cold," she mumbled, hugging me.

"It's an ice rink," I chuckled. She rolled her eyes, throwing her arms around my neck, looking up at me. "Hi," I grinned.

"Hi," she grinned back. "I'm cold," she pouted.

"Don't be," I said mockingly.

"Asshole," she chuckled, shaking her head.

"I haven't been ice skating in ages," I said, more to myself than I did to her while I looked around. We weren't talking for a few minutes. I was just looking around the place, I used to come here as a kid too. It's like the place where almost all kids hosted their birthday parties and stuff. She put her head down on my shoulder and we both just stood there for a minute.

She peppered a few kisses on my neck. "Olivia, don't do that," I smiled, not looking down at her.

"Okay," she said, starting to kiss my cheek. And again. And again. And a couple hundred times more.

"Hey, look at Skylar and Austin," I chuckled, noticing them when they skated past us, holding hands, laughing, and talking.

"Hey, look at me," she said mockingly, pulling my chin down.

"Yes?" I asked.

"I..." If she was thinking of saying what I'm thinking of saying right now. "I really like you, Ethan," she mumbled.

It's too soon.

What does that matter when I really like her?

"I really like you too, Olive," I grinned.

"I can't go on my toes in skates, you're gonna have to come down here," she shrugged.

I laughed, leaning down and kissing her. She hugged me after that tightly. "We've got about ten minutes left in our slot, let's see how much I can teach you in that," I smirked, grabbing her hands and taking her to take a few more laps.

"Oh no," she whined.

I pecked her lips, taking her with me as she protested. "It's ten minutes, get your feet moving," I chuckled.

"Get your lips moving," she smirked.

"Need I remind you-"

"I'm on my period, I freaking know," she rolled her eyes.

We were all currently sitting in the cafe nearby, grabbing our late lunch. "You have ketchup on your chin," Olivia said, swiping a tissue over my chin. We started talking after that about the party this Friday. Justin was now another problem we were gonna have to face that night.

"I didn't know you're such a fantastic ice skater, Olivia," Daniel joked.

She glanced at me. He's acting weird. "Yeah, I killed it out there," she said sarcastically, playing along.

"I don't think any of us skate that well, maybe you could teach me," he chuckled.

My eyes met Austin's both of us looking at each other in confusion. 'What the fuck?' he mouthed.

I gave him a small shrug.

"Daniel, have you got a girlfriend?" Skylar asked bluntly.

"No," he answered, slightly confused. Skylar nodded in response. "So, will you teach me sometime?" he asked Olive. My grip subconsciously tightened on her hand that was locked with mine under the table. She gave it a light squeeze and I loosened my grip.

"So, you don't have a girlfriend?" Skylar asked.

"No, Skylar, I don't," Daniel sighed.

"Right, but she's got a boyfriend, you see it, don't you?" Skylar asked, pointing between me and Olivia.

"I'm confused," he mumbled.

"You're flirting with her," I said, sending him a bitter smile.

"Cut it out," Austin nodded.

"But, I'm not-"

"Please," Olivia said, "It's making me feel very uncomfortable," she chuckled awkwardly.

"But I'm not flirting," he said, dumbfounded.

"You are," I scoffed.

"Come on now, Liv. Is that what you call flirting?" he asked but he wasn't looking at her. He was looking at me. What was he doing?

"Dude, what are you doing? Cut it out, what's wrong with you?" Austin asked in confusion.

"I'm just trying to make conversation," he said, putting his hands up mocking surrender.

"Try conversing with someone else," Skylar said, giving him a witty smile.

"She didn't seem to mind," he argued.

"She does now," I said, staring at him.

"Do you?" he asked her.

"What the hell are you doing, Daniel? Why are you trying to pick a fight just-"

He cut Austin off, "Do you, Olivia?"

"Yes, I do. Stop flirting with me, please," she huffed.

His phone dinged with a text on the table but he wasn't taking it. He was staring at Olivia.

"Daniel!" Austin smacked his chest.

Olivia's grip tightened on my hand when he grabbed his phone to read the text. "Ethan," she mumbled. I turned to her. She pulled me down by my neck, whispering in my ear. "Justin just texted him," she said.

"What?" I looked down at her in confusion.

"The text he just got is from Justin," she pulled away to look at my reaction. She scooted closer, "Earlier today at my locker I saw them talking, that's why I was a little suspicious when Daniel said you told him we were fighting," she explained.

"I've gotta go," Daniel said, throwing money on the table for his share before rushing out of there.

"You think something is going on with Justin?" I asked her in confusion.

"I don't know," she shrugged, "I'm just saying I heard them talk and now he just texted him."

"I saw them talking too. Right after the last period, right?" Austin asked, looking at Liv.

"Right," she nodded, "You were there?"

"Yeah, my locker is around yours," he answered.

"So, how do we know what's going on?" Skylar asked.

"I don't know," I sighed, "But we can always find out."

"How?" they all asked in sync.

"Spy Kids," I scoffed. I was kidding. Apparently, they didn't get that.

"That's actually not a bad idea," Skylar said.

"Yeah, we can actually stalk him a little and try finding out what they talk about," Austin said.

"We can easily do that at school," Olivia said.

"Guys, I was kidding," I interrupted.

"Well, we're not," Austin shrugged.

"He seems like a persistent little shit," Skylar said.

"And you don't like him flirting with your girlfriend, do you?" I turned to Olivia when she asked me that, smirking.

"Absolutely not," I answered.

"Then help us find out what's going on," she pleaded.

"Maybe he's Team Justin now," Skylar shrugged.

"He most certainly is," I scoffed.

"Why though?" Austin and Liv asked in sync.

"That's what we're finding out, geniuses," Skylar snorted.

"Right," they mumbled in sync. "So, what now?" Liv asked.

"Now, who has the most classes with him?" I asked. Everyone turned to me.

Great. I'm the Spy Kid. Fantastic.
