"Ugh! I'm going to kill that hybrid freak!" Audrey shouted to no one in particular. She was angrily making her way to Klaus's new home he was building. When it came into sight she was surprise at how large it was going to be. All of that left her mind when she thought of dead Alaric lying on her couch. She stormed through the gate blocking the driveway and all the way up to the front door. One of Klaus's hybrids tried stopping her but she pushed through the front door anyways. "Klaus!" She shouted. He appeared almost instantly.

"A phone call and now a surprise visit. You just can't stay away, can you?" He joked but Audrey was not in the mood.

"Klaus, I tried stopping her but she-," The hybrid began but Audrey cut him off.

"You can leave now, minion," She told the hybrid. "And you. Trying to kill my baby brother is crossing the line!"

"Sir-," The hybrid tried again but it was Klaus to cut him off this time.

"Leave," Klaus commanded. The hybrid nodded and did as told. "I told you I couldn't make any promises for your family's safety. Only yours,"

"Oh is that right?" Audrey asked sarcastically. "Hmm, alright. How about I just go kill one of your siblings and see how you like it! Oh wait, you already did that," Klaus frowned now.

"I know you're angry love, but do not threaten me," He growled.

"Or what? You gonna kill me?" She asked. "If that was true I'd be dead by now, I think we've already established this,"

"Darling, don't push me," Klaus said as he stepped closer to the her. Audrey tried ignoring the way her heart fluttered when he called her darling, but couldn't. Klaus smirked at her and Audrey knew it was because he could hear her heart.

"Don't make me, babe," She growled back at him, stepping closer. Their chests were touching now, but because Klaus was taller than her, Audrey had to look up at him. Both of them felt the familiar sparks rising between them but they ignored them. Well, Audrey did. Klaus was busy glancing at her lips and wondering what it would feel like to kiss them. Then that thought led to the thought of ravishing her against the wall behind her. He was going into dangerous territory with these thoughts. "What? Cat's got your tongue?"

"Sweetheart, you're messing with the wrong person today," Klaus grumbled. Audrey was becoming flustered from the way his breath hit her. They shouldn't be this close to each other, but neither of them moved away. They were being drawn to each other as if their skin had magnets on it.

"Klaus?" Mindy called out as she stepped into the room.

"What?!" Both Klaus and Audrey asked at the same time. Audrey blushed when she realized what she had done and took a step away from Klaus.

"I meant what I said," Audrey stated as she walked towards the front door. "And you really don't want to piss me off, love," Klaus watched her walk out the door with smirk. She was the most infuriating person he had come across and yet he liked it.

By the time Audrey had reached her house it was dark. Elena was arriving the same time as her and gave her a stern look. "Where the hell have you been?!" Elena shouted, throwing her hands up. "One minute I think you're behind me and Damon and the next you're gone! And what's with turning off your phone?!"

"Okay, don't be mad but I went to see Klaus," Audrey stated innocently.

"What?!" Elena nearly screamed.

"I went to tell him to leave us all alone!" Audrey answered. "He was being really stubborn though,"

"Why did you think negotiating with Klaus would work?" Elena asked her sister.

"Because, he saved my life twice now. I figured he had a soft spot for me or something. Plus, he said that since I had no part in the plan with Mikael, I had his word that I was protected," Audrey explained. "Obviously I was wrong,"

"No, but you were on to something," Elena said. "Are you hiding something from me?"

"No," Audrey lied. "If I knew something, you and Damon would too," Elena stared at her sister for a moment before sighing and giving up. The two of them walked through their front door to see Alaric up.

"Ric, hey! When did you return to the living?" Elena asked, walking over to him.

"Oh just a few minutes ago. How is Jeremy?" Alaric asked tiredly.

"Hating me. Hating life. Hating the fact that we can't even have a family dinner without somebody dying before dessert. Are you okay?" Elena asked when she saw Ric start to cough. The coughing got worse to the point that Ric was coughing up blood. "Oh my god!" Elena and Audrey rushed over to their guardian to help him.

"Something's wrong! The ring!" Ric groaned out before collapsing to the floor.

"Ric, hey!" Audrey said trying to calm him down. She shot her sister a look and Elena nodded before getting out her phone. She quickly called 911 and asked for an ambulance immediately. When the paramedics arrived she went to the door to let them in.

"What happened?" The first paramedic asked.

"He got hit by a car and he's coughing up blood," Audrey answered. "His pulse is weak too and I'm sure there's some internal bleeding," The second paramedic nodded and took Audrey's place next to Ric. As he started taking vitals the first paramedic looked at the young brunette with shock.

"She's right. His pulse is weak and there's definitely internal bleeding. We gotta get him out of here," They were about to get him on the stretcher when Tony appeared in the doorway.

"Let's not and say we did. Why don't you two meet us at the hospital," He stated smugly. The paramedics stopped helping Alaric and went to walk out the door.

"What?" Elena asked. "No, no, no, wait! No wait!" Elena shouted, trying to stop the paramedics. "You have to help him! What are you doing?!" The paramedics ignored her and left.

"You can still save his life, Elena. Here, take my blood," Tony offered, raising his hand. "I can't get in. You're gonna have to invite me,"

"Like hell we will!" Audrey said, walking to the door. "Why are you even doing this?!"

"Klaus asked for his family. You didn't deliver," Tony answered. Ric began coughing again so Elena ran back over to him.

"Ric! Oh my god! I'm right here," Elena cried, kneeling beside him as he continued to cough.

"Why don't you turn around and go tell your hybrid master to shove it up his ass," Audrey growled. Tony smirked at her and crossed his arms.

"Awe, and here I'm supposed to make sure you don't get hurt," Tony chuckled sarcastically. "You're pretty ungrateful for someone who's been saved by Klaus more than once,"

"Well, until Klaus stops harassing my family I'm not going to be warm and fuzzy with him," Audrey snapped back. Tony smirked and opened his mouth to say something but it was cut short when he fell to the ground. Audrey looked behind him to see Jeremy with a crossbow. "Jer?"

"He's not dead yet," He stated walking into the house, pushing past his sister.

"Where are you going?" Audrey asked. He ignored her and walked to the kitchen, picking up a meat cleaver.

"Jer, what are you doing?" Elena asked cautiously. Jeremy ignored her too and walked back out of the house. He brought the meat cleaver down on Tony's head, chopping it completely off. Both Audrey and Elena gasped.

"Holy shit!" Audrey shouted.

"Now he's dead," Jeremy replied like it was the most casual thing in the world. "We've gotta get Alaric to the hospital now," Jeremy stated, looking at his sisters. Audrey laughed breathlessly and nodded.

"Badass, baby bro!" Audrey cheered patting his shoulder when he came back into the house. Jeremy just smiled at her and nudged her playfully.

After taking Alaric to the hospital, Elena and Audrey went to the Salvatore's house. They had finally decided to call a truce with Klaus and hopefully give him a peace offering. Audrey had called him and told him to meet her at the Salvatore's so now they had to wait. When there was a knock at the door both girls knew it was him. Audrey decided to answer because she knew Klaus liked her slightly more than her sister. "Thank you for coming,"

"I trust you have news of Stefan?" Klaus asked, stepping into the house.

"I couldn't find him, but I have something else," Audrey answered. Klaus looked at her and smirked.

"Do you always negotiate with people or is it just me?" Klaus questioned smugly. Audrey rolled her eyes at him and started walking towards the cellar door.

"You seem to be the only person around here who constantly needs negotiating with," Audrey answered with fake kindness. She led him to the cellar where Elena was waiting. Elena opened the door to show him Rebekah's body.

"My poor sister. I can't turn my back on her for a moment," Klaus tskd.

"You have Rebekah. A deal is a deal," Elena stated, crossing her arms.

"The life of my sister in exchange for your brother? Yeah I'd say that's a bargain. Consider him spared," Klaus chuckled. Audrey pushed him against the wall and pointed a finger in his face.

"Give us your word," She growled.

"Audrey!" Elena protested but Audrey ignored her.

Klaus was amused by this, mainly because she was so close to him. "You have my word. Happy?"

"Ecstatic," Audrey smiled, moving away from him. Klaus laughed and shook his head at her. Elena watched them in shock. How was Klaus not mad?

"Um..you should know I was the one that daggered her. When she wakes she'll come after me," Elena commented.

"I can control Rebekah," Klaus stated, causing Audrey to laugh. "Besides I still need your help finding Stefan,"

"I don't know where he is," Elena answered, faking confusion. Klaus rolled his eyes and undaggered his little sister.

"You're lying. Fortunately you have no shortage of loved one. If I don't find my family the question you should be asking yourself is who's gonna die next! Bonnie? Caroline? Damon? It's only a matter of time before Stefan gives me what I want," Klaus explained sadistically.

"We didn't do anything to you! This is all Stefan's fault so stop blaming us-," Audrey began but Elena stopped her.

"He doesn't care about me anymore. You made sure of that. You turned him into a monster. Now he's your problem. And just so you know, I'm not the only one that Rebekah wants dead. She knows what you did to your mother. She knows that you killed her. You can let yourself out," Elena spat before turning to walk away. Audrey looked at the hybrid with amusement.

"When are you going to stop blaming the world for your problems?" She asked him rhetorically before exiting like her sister did. Klaus looked down at his dead sister and shook his head.

"She's driving me mad Bekah," He chuckled.

-

Elena was washing the bloody rag she used to clean Tony's blood when Damon walked in. "Did you get rid of him?" She asked.

"Yeah. Tony the dead hybrid is down at the bottom of Steven's Quarry," Damon answered. Audrey, who had been lying on the couch groaned miserably. "Awe, little bird. What's wrong?"

"I hate this. I hate waking up everyday not knowing if one of us is going to die," Audrey admitted with a sigh. Damon glanced down at her before looking at Elena. Elena sent him a soft look and a nod. "So what about Alaric?"

"Hmm? Oh I took care of him too. He'll be fine," Damon answered smiling. He looked back up at Elena. "How are you doing?"

"I think I got most of the blood off the porch," Elena replied sarcastically.

"Elena, look at me. It's gonna be okay," Damon assured but Elena didn't believe him.

"I have to tell you something. I made a deal with Klaus. I gave him Rebekah-we gave him Rebekah," Elena corrected, glancing at her little sister.

"What? No. No, no, no you did not do that. She's gonna come here and try and kill you!" Damon shouted.

"No she won't. Klaus won't let her because he needs me," Elena sighed.

"And suddenly you trust him?" Damon asked angrily.

"Well, he's given me his word and hasn't broke it yet," Audrey chimed in.

"No, I don't trust him. But what other choice do I have? I don't trust Stefan. Do you think he's just gonna give up the coffins?" Elena asked.

"My brother is sort of running his own show right now," Damon mumbled. Audrey snorted and sat up on the couch.

"Yeah well your brother is also getting everyone we love almost killed," She added with annoyance.

"And our brother just chopped off someone's head! It's not right. It's not fair. He's sixteen years old. He shouldn't have to live like this!" Elena shouted.

"Elena-," Damon started.

"There has to be another way. We have to fix it," Elena said cutting him off. Angry tears were forming in her eyes and Damon caught it before she turned around to wash her hands.

"We will! Hey...," Damon cooed, taking her face in his hands. "We will. Okay?" She nodded and sniffled. Jeremy and Alaric came home soon after Damon's talk. Audrey followed her little brother upstairs while the rest stayed back to talk about plan.

"Jer?" She called out as she walked into his room. "You wanna talk?"

"What's there to talk about? Our life is so dysfunctional," Jeremy groaned.

"Yeah," Audrey sighed. "Sometimes I wake up and wish all of this was a bad dream. That mom and dad and aunt Jenna are all still alive,"

"I do that every day," Jeremy whispered. Audrey smiled sadly at her younger brother and wrapped an arm around him.

"Hey? Can we talk?" Elena said startling both her siblings. Jeremy nodded.

"What did I do now?" He asked jokingly.

"I've been thinking about what you said. About how we should pack up and go," Elena sighed. Audrey frowned at her sister.

"Elena, I didn't mean any of that," Jeremy sighed.

"But you were right. You shouldn't have to give up a normal life just because of me," Elena stated.

"What's going on?" Audrey asked as Damon walked into the room.

"Audrey," Alaric said from the doorway. She looked his way to see him motioning for her to go to him. She did hesitantly.

"Ric, what's going on?" She asked. He gave her a sad look and hugged her.

"Here's the thing Jer. You're gonna go out of town for a while...a long while. You're gonna stay with some nice family friends in Denver, you're going to be at a new school, you'll meet new girls, living girls. You're going to drink a few beers, take an art class. You do whatever you want," Damon compelled. Audrey's eyes widened and she tried to get out of Ric's arms but he held her tight.

"Tell him he's gonna leave Mystic Falls behind and never think twice about it," Alaric said.

"NO!" Audrey screamed, tears rushing down her face.

"You're gonna leave Mystic Falls and never think twice about it. You're gonna live a better life Jer," Damon finished. Audrey was sobbing now, trying her hardest to get out of Alaric's arms.

"No! NO! He's my little brother! He's our little brother, Elena! We're supposed to take care of him!" Audrey screamed, thrashing in Ric's arms. Her tears were blurring her vision but she could see Alaric was carrying her away. "Please don't do this!"

"Audrey, this is for his own good," Alaric reassured. She shook his head and continued to sob. Her little brother was leaving and there was nothing she could do.
