《The Lost Princess (Peter Pan OUAT Fanfic)》'Chapter 5 - The Picture

All I could think was, "How?"
It is impossible to win on the first try. Completely and utterly imposible.
I had watched her the whole time. She hid for a large part of the time with Tinkerbelle and in that cave. She attacked Oliver once and even though she was a fast runner, that took up most of her time too. The bravest thing she really did was jump down right in front of the boys at the last second.
It just doesn't make sense.
I heard a knock on the door to my shack.
"Come in." I sighed in annoyance.
Little Ben peeked his head through the door and smiled at me.
I couldn't help but smile back. Ben was the one person who could make me genuinely happy so far. Maybe it was the fact that he was so young and innocent, but I honestly had no idea why.
"What is it Ben?" I asked still smiling.
He giggled and said, "Felix needs you to build a hut for Salina."
I sighed and agreed, "Alright fine tell him I'll be out."
Ben turned around and began to exit when I stopped him and shut the door.
"Benjamin, can I ask you sonething?"
"Sure Peter!" He squealed.
"Do you like Salina?"
He smiled and began nodding his head furiously.
"Why?" I asked him.
"Well, she's super pretty for one thing, and she's also really nice! The second we came back to camp after the chase, she started talking to all of us. Even Felix and Oliver!"
"What did Felix and Oliver do?" I questioned.
"Felix just kind if walked away after saying his name and Oliver seemed to like her. I mean really like her. He actually talked without studdering and he never took his eyes off of her."

"He better not try to be her girlfriend or something!" I thought.
"Ok that's it."
I followed Ben out and then walked over to Felix.
"So now I've got to build a hut?" I asked impatiently.
"Yep." He answered.
I went to and open spot which was next to my hut and used my magic to make another appear.
"Salina?" I called out.
"What do you want Pan?" She asked as she appeared next to me.
"This is the place you'll be sleeping." I explained.
She walked into the little hut and I followed her.
"If you can't tell I made it a little bigger than the other lost boys because I know you females love your space." I said kind of bragging.
"Why am I bragging? There is nothing to brag about."
"Is that an actual bed?" She asked.
"Yes?" I answered slightly confused.
"I mean it's not like a cot, it's an actual bed that people use in houses."
"Yeah."
"Ok." She said as she began to unpack the stuff in her pack.
She pulled out mostly clothes, some shoes, money, and some weird orange thing.
"What's that orange thing?" I asked.
She turned around and explained, "It's an instant camera. It takes pictures and then prints them out onto little sheets of paper"
I must have still looked confused because she walked over to me and said, "Here I'll just show you."
She took the camera and turned it around so the big circle was facing us.
"Now you're supposed to smile." She instructed.
I unwillingly smiled. I hate taking orders from other people.
She pressed a little button and then a little picture began to come out the top.
She grabbed it when it printed then smiled at it then handed it to me.

It was the two of us.
"You can keep it." She said.
"Okay."
"Aren't you going to say thanks?" She asked.
"I don't say thanks to anyone." I declared.
"Well those are horrible manners!" She scolded.
She then began laughing.
I could tell she as obviously joking. This seemed unlike her.
"Why are you laughing so much?" I asked.
She stopped and then said, "I'm not sure. I guess I just like it here. "
"Oh, so you don't smile a lot?"
"No, it's pretty hard to get me to open up."
"Well you should smile more often you look great when you do." I told her.
She blushed and looked down at the ground.
I couldn't understand why she was so embarrassed.
I then left her with her things and walked outside.
I looked at the picture in my hand again. I decided to put it somewhere safe so I put it in the lock box at the end of my bed in my hut.
I walked back outside and talked to Felix.
"You seem so different Peter." He stated, "It's not good, you need to be more like you were before this Salina came."
I considered what he said.
"Is it really that bad?" I asked
"Yes."

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Hey. I'm Maestra.Life sucks. It's a fact everyone knows, and something I've experienced twice. But want to know something else?Death sucks even more. Especially when you're alive to remember it, and only it.And that's the only thing that keeps me going. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Yo, welcome to my first attempt at making a story. Feedback would be very highly appreciated, so feel free to leave criticism where you see fit. Also posted on ScribbleHub!

Schedule: 1 Chapter each of Tuesday/Friday John Miller was a fairly normal young man, working hard to support a family that had run into many financial difficulties. Unfortunately, his unexpected death ends his difficult but mundane life. He is quite surprised to find himself waking up alive… but not himself. Fortkran Tenebach is… or was… the young master of a cultivation clan in another world. John barely even knows anything about cultivation- even in the theory of something vaguely like it- but he has to make his way with the memories of his new body. His new family isn’t as close as his old one was… but he can’t help but want to be honest with them. He is quite certain that they notice his sudden change in personality among other things, and confesses what happened in a move that ultimately he expects to be fatal. Quite surprisingly, his family instead breathes a collective sigh of relief that the old Fortkran is dead. This leaves John to take over his duties… including cultivation, though he has to start from the beginning and isn’t sure he won’t make some massive mistake.
