《The Lost Princess (Peter Pan OUAT Fanfic)》*Chapter 4 - The Chase

I stood waiting for my task as the lost boys gathered.
"Alright, here is what we are going to have Ms. Nightingale do in order to become a lost girl." Pan said.
The boys stood quietly as I awaited my possible doom.
Finally Pan explained, "First you must do something to prove you're trustworthy."
"How do I do that?" I asked.
He smirked and said, "You have to do that yourself. Whether you save one of the boys from mermaids or cook dinner, if I see you can be trusted, you'll be a lost girl."
"Ok, I can do that." I agreed.
It seemed simple. Almost too simple.
"You also have to prove you're strength." Pan announced.
"Knew it." I thought.
"You must be able to run from the boys 'till sundown. If you fail you will try again until you give up or win." He paused, "The rules are simple. You may have one weapon of your choice and the boys may use anything they want except for arrows. No fatal hits or anything that will seriously injure the other."
"Wait but-" I began to say until Pan cut me off.
"You have a 60 second head start."
"But what if I-"
"1."
I picked up a dagger.
"2."
I ran out of the camp
"3."
I ran through the forest as fast as possible. I lost count of the time I had left, I only ran.
"Go boys!" I heard Pan shout at the top of his lungs.
I continued running through the forest until I found a little tree house.
I quickly climbed up the ladder. The second I popped through the little hole I heard the boys shouts.
"Did you see where she went?" I heard one ask.

"I think she went towards mermaid cove." The other answered as I listened to the sound of their feet running away.
"Who are you and why are you in my house?" A strange voice asked.
I looked up to see a girl with blonde hair and a green outfit on.
Could barely speak as I said, "Pan. And games. Lost girl."
She looked confused then walked over to a small cupboard. She pulled out a cup and handed it to me.
"Here drink this." She commanded.
I did as she said and instantly felt better.
"What was that stuff?"
"Just some honey and coconut milk mixed together. Now would you please tell me what you're doing here?"
"Well I'm gonna be a lost girl, but I need to not get caught by the boys in order to do so." I explained.
She looked like she understood and said, "Yep, this happens to all the boys. Although I'm wondering why he needs a girl?"
"I'm supposed to be a mother figure." I answered her.
"I am not sure about that." She smirked and the said, "Maybe he likes you."
My eyes widened in surprise and I immediately blushed.
"Oh don't worry he's incapable of love." She assured me.
I then realized I had no idea who I was talking to.
"Say, what's your name" I asked.
"Oh, I'm Tinkerbelle. What's yours?"
"Salina Nightingale."
"Well Salina your going to have to leave because if you hide up here the whole time you won't be showing Peter anything. I would recommend getting one of them alone and fighting him off."
"Ok." I sighed.
I began to climb down the ladder when I said, "Thanks!"
She looked at me and said, "No problem honey!"

I then climbed down the ladder and ran.
I hid inside a cave and listened for footsteps.
After about a hour I heard someone.
I peeked my head out and saw one boy.
He had dark brown hair and freckles. I think I heard some of the other boys calling him Oliver. He looked scared.
"This should be easy." I thought.
I pretended to stumble out of the cave and fell at his feet.
He jumped and started to try to pick me up.
"A-Are you o-ok?" He studdered.
I didn't answer. The only thing I did was attack.
I jumped up and pinned Oliver to the ground.
He attempted to scream but I covered his mouth.
"Listen you are going to te those boys that I went to mermaid cove. If you listen I'll consider not slitting your throat, understand."
He nodded hastily and I let him go.
I ran towards the camp and climbed up into one of the trees.
I looked toward the sun and saw it was only about 10 minutes until sundown.
That's when I saw the boys coming.
Every last one of them was walking up the hill looking defeated.
It was only one minute now.
I slowly started climbing down the tree and hit the ground right in front of them.
The second they began the rush after me Pan appeared.
He looked at me and then the boys dissapointed faces.
I saw a flash of surprise on his face, but he quickly went back to his usual expressionless self.
"Well it looks like Salina here won on the first try. That's something that has never been done before."
All I could do was smile.

What monsters does it hide? Can the people that have found me really be trusted? Now planning to post a chapter every other week. I have added a volume for the maps so they are easy to find. Arduous New World
Alright, so I'm using this as a whetstone to practice my fiction writing. I have dyslexia, so bear with me if I have any mistakes, if you point them out I'll try and correct them. The story is LitRPG, I'll try and avoid some of the tropes, see FAQ. What happens is that the world turns out to be a simulation coming to an end, and beginning on its new simulation, in this process the system of the universe declares that the new simulation will be rpg-based. The protagonist however is thrust into an empty space before the simulation comes to an end, he escapes and finds that the world as he knew it is gone.Chapters will come sporadically as I'm quite busy IRL. FAQ1: There will be no Harem. 2: If any sexual content, it will be be below the screen, example sentence [they made love - or - they had sex]3: I'll try to keep character motivations steady instead of having characters who says and does one thing in one chapter, only to change their mind in the next one. 3: Villains or "bad guys" won't be charicatures. Of course, as in real life, you can meet these people, but as far as big bads or antagonists goes, they will have some modicum of intelligence. 4: The MC does not have an encyclopedia of random knowledge. 5: OP'ness won't happen overnight, and it is something that I'm wary of in terms of adding it, of course eventually the MC will grow more powerful, but there won't be any cheats, except hard work; and the luck factor will be more or less similar to the rest of the population. 6: He won't be opposing the universe, no matter how powerful he grows, he is too insignificant7: he won't become friends with god/the ghost in the shell etc, no matter how powerful he grows, he is too insignificant, and an ancient simulation ai has no interest anyway, why would it ? Okay that's that for now.

Leave Bad Enough Alone
Something has been amiss in the city’s theaters as of late. The local bards have long done a respectable job of keeping the audiences entertained, weaving high concepts with skillful performances. But lately, a new set of bards, and their illusionist cohorts, have captured the crowd’s attention. Compared to the theater’s usual fare, their work is hackneyed and poorly plotted, with unskilled acting, bad special effects, and unsatisfying resolutions. Worst of all, the audiences like their work more, and these upstarts are far more profitable than the city’s decent bards! Clearly, there must be some dark secret behind the success of these newcomers, and it’s up to the city’s true artists to find out what it is and expose the conspiracy! Or maybe the city’s bards have just become too hopelessly pretentious and derivative. It’s hard to tell. But investigate it they must! Failure is not an option! Victory, or...well, they’ll have to get day jobs or something. Original cover image generated by NightCafé.Master story list here.
