Her words never left my head. She said she loves me. If she did, she wouldn't have done that to me.

After I left her there I went straight to another party. Drinking my way out of whatever happened between Lacey and I. Josh was there and I know he noticed that something was up but he didn't ask about it and I was thankful for that.

Before we ever started any of this, Lacey and I promised that it was a no strings attached thing. Whatever we would do was just a hook up nothing more. But I guess I was the first one who broke that promise. I fell in love, I lost.

Josh warned me about this, I just couldn’t force myself to accept the fact that she chose drugs over me.

I reach for my red solo cup and drink from it, allowing the bitter liquid to flow down my throat, the burning sensation calming me down a bit.

It’s just ironic because I was the one who proposed that promise. I told her from the start that it shouldn’t mean anything. It was destined to be hard but all the while I thought it was gonna be easy. I thought our hook ups wouldn’t mean so much to me, but Lacey is just so different, she’s the female version of me but a bit more playful.

I chuckle at my own thoughts but soon after I realized that this was not a funny matter at all. I had made myself fall for someone I should never have fallen for. All of this was wrong from the beginning. Starting off from her being my brother’s ‘girl’ a month ago and from how quickly things have happened. I fell for her in less than a month? And now I am totally affected by what she’s done, I should’ve seen this coming but I chose to ignore it. This is my entire fault.

She might as well have told me ‘I’ll break your heart’. Guess I needed to hear it from her myself.
