《Tark- His Penned Chronicles》Ch1: Her name has him

Hi
If you are a guy, did you ever had a female best friend?
I do, and she is the best!!!!
We are childhood friends. Initially, I used to hate her but with her loving nature, she won my heart. We share everything, every secret with each other.
She is inquisitive, naughty like a doe, always prancing from here to there.
Her hair was woven from the black heavens, fine strands of spacetime and starlight. Her hair, black and straight, moves as soft prairie grass in the summer wind. It gives contrast to her face, sweetly dark upon soft brown skin. She is woven into the beauty of this place rather than a thing apart. There is something of her spirit here in the trees and the waterways, as if they are always in communion, ever happy together.
She shares all her problems even the girl's problems with me.
She is this naughty little girl who does all sorts of crazy kinds of stuff yet is pampered by her in-laws. She breaks rules and stereotypes. She is unique in her way and maybe that his why I lo.....no no...I...only like her as a friend.
My family loves her a lot too.
We are close to each other but not that close. There is a line drawn between both of us, a red Lakshman Rekha which I never tried to cross.
That Rekha is drawn on her hairline.
Yes, she is married.
But that doesn't change the fact that she is my best friend. Her husband and in-laws seem ok with it too.
Once she starts talking, she won't stop. She is a talkative radio. I don't know how her husband handles this girl...hats off to him.
Her black eyes are like the deep ocean, where a soul can rest, it has a lot of questions and naughtiness. Her eyes show love, wait wait wait!!!...

Not for me....for her husband.
I saw her growing up from a kid to a teenager, from cute to pretty but still immature. She looks beautiful in open hair with no pallu but unfortunately, she always puts her pallu on in front of others except her husband. She is frank with him. I witnessed them laughing and gossiping.
Once he scolded her in front of the whole school because she got fewer marks. I was raged and wanted to confront him but a few moments later I saw them having kulfi. She was happy and he was rubbing her mouth with a cloth.
Ok
But I share a stronger bond with her than him and the sole reason is that they don't share a husband-wife relationship. She is just a little kid for him but me, she is my best friend.
I know her since childhood and with growing age, she started falling for her husband. She didn't tell me as she is unaware of the fact. It's just evident by the way she talks about him all the time and smiles and blushes.
Also with growing age, I think I started falling for....no that is not possible, I cannot fall for her...
I remembered once she dropped her book in a well and I tried to pick it up, risking my life.
Principal sir called my baba and he scolded both of us.
I don't love her but when she smiles, my heart smiles. When she cries my heart cries. My happiness comes with her happiness but her happiness comes with the happiness of her husband.
Luckily Our friendship never faced any humiliation just because we are of the opposite sex.
With growing age, we understood that there exists a relationship beyond friendship. You know, teenage stuff, crush and all. The unfortunate part is I am not her crush and never will be and I don't want to be either. I don't want her to fall for me, ruining such a pure bond.

The Last Science
[This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Nestled deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, something is emerging. Kept in absolute secrecy, it seeps into a fading town, quietly shared from person to person. For Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate, this discovery could mean an escape from his empty existence. To Rachel DuValle, perpetually underestimated and dismissed by the world, magic represents a chance to become something much greater than herself. In the face of an unsuspecting world, their decisions shape the growth of a budding society discovering untold power. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. Want this story in smaller bites? Click here! The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. Each chapter is pretty long (average ~8000 words), so find somewhere comfy to read. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Different World with Save and Load: A Horror Story
Being strong and being weak is a form of perspective. Are you really as weak as you think you are? Do you really have the power to level mountains and rend the seas? If people tell you are god then you are god, if people tell you are nothing then you are nothing. But who actually sees the whole picture? A not-so-good man (evil) managed to get transported to a not-so-real world (game-like) by a not-so-caring god (lazy). The world uses the all-so-famous “stats”, but he has no access to the so-called “system”. At least he managed to get a cheat from the lazy god, even if it took all his potential. What will a greedy villain with the ability to reset his progress do in a world that is more fake then real with a godlike hero, and a non-caring god?
