I assure you the angels above have not seen beauty such as your own, flower.

The way you bloom, only for me, in the cool midnight air.

Leaving me breathless and searching for your sweet nectar.

Finally, I can make you cling to me, as I do on every word that drips from your lips.

Let my love wash over you, purify us and make us one.

You make me feel whole Ambrosia.

A world of warm colors wrapped around Ambrosia's mind.

Where am I?

She blinked and looked around desperately only to realize she couldn't move her body. She watched as the colors grow closer and tighter around her legs, then waist, then stomach. It gripped her tightly, so tight her eyes began to water.

The water poured from her eyes like rivers and as she tried to gasp for air only water filled her lungs. The warmth around her grew hotter and hotter until it was too much to endure.

Then it stopped. The water vanished, the warmth fled her side, leaving her cold.

"Ambrosia!"

"Huh?" Ambrosia jerked up out of her dream her chin rested in her hand. Ivy sat across from Ambrosia and frowned at her.

"Ambrosia that's the third time you fell asleep this morning," Ivy stated taking a bite out of the bagel she was holding.

"Oh, yeah...I'm just-"

"Hungover?"

Ambrosia lifted her head and paused.

"No, just tired because I went to sleep late."

"Yeah." Ivy took another bite and leaned back in her chair and stared at her glass of juice.

The two sisters sat alone in the large dining room downstairs by the kitchen. From Ambrosia's knowledge, her Aunt had gone into the town with Mrs.Henway to address a business meeting that would be hosted in the house.

Of course without the other resident's approval.

As for the girl's father, he was still ill but recovering slowly from what seemed like food poisoning. Which had Ivy pretty bent out of shape, but Ambrosia...

Ambrosia repeatedly found herself thinking about Elias. How could she not after the event of that night. It had been about a week since she woke up in his bed, alone. Her doubts and insecurities managed to grab her before she could even get out and take a shower.

All the little echoes of regret and anticipating the consequences of their intimacy. However, she kept flashing back to the thrill and the tension of the moment.

Ambrosia shook her head silently and took up the last piece of her omelette onto her fork.

"I wonder where the Henways are," Ivy said blatantly, her eyes wandered around the dining room.

"Yeah..." Ambrosia mumbled. Ivy leaned into the table and glanced behind herself before whispering.

"It's weird how this personal lawyer was administrating Grandma's funeral but she's still here helping with the house, it's been almost a month."

"It is weird, she has to be part of Tania's little games," Ambrosia muttered.

"And her son, Elias, he such creep..."

Ambrosia's heartbeat quickened at his name and she hesitantly nodded. Her mind wandered that night once again. The heat that arose from her skin as she kissed him and her breathless cries between each kiss they exchanged. Ambrosia gulped and focused herself on the noise that was coming from beside her.

Ivy was talking again.

"...but then this other time I saw him early in the morning, dressed in black digging a big hole in the woods by the lake, and when I went back to see what the hole was for he had filled it and just planted a flower."

"Huh, that's odd," Ambrosia said trailing off into her thoughts.

Was that the day I went to go walk Sadie and he was out so early.

He said he went out to run.

Holy crap, did I leave Sadie in the back porch!?

A pair of footsteps echoed down the hallways and the girls looked at each other for a moment.

"I'm going to talk to dad, alright," Ambrosia said after chewing the last bit of her food.

"I'll go with you," Ivy replied quickly getting up while grabbing her plate.

The footsteps entered the room and stopped behind the two, Ambrosia turned around to see her Aunt Tania smiling back.

"Actually Ivy, I have been meaning to talk to you."

Ivy stuck her hand into the pockets of her sweatshirt and turned around.

"What for?" She asked flatly.

"It's been a while since we have been together, I want to know more about you love," Tania spoke softly.

"I feel like if we are staying together, for the time being, we should act like a family, I deserve to get to know you...both like my sister, your mother, did."

She had to remind us.

Ambrosia let out a brief sigh and earned a smile from Tania. Something dark flashed in her eyes, like a warning...or a threat. With that Ambrosia took up her dishes and walked away.

Ambrosia knocked on her father's door twice. No answer. She knocked again and a gentle voice replied.

"Come in."

Ambrosia opened the door and smiled at her small old man propped up in his bed with pillows and a book in his hands.

"Can you draw the curtains for me, Ambrosia?" her father asked.

Ambrosia did just that and sat on the seat by the window sill.

"How are you feeling?" she asked. Her father adjusted his glasses and smiled while reading.

"I'm doing just fine, who knew a little too much drink and some bad food could do so much" Her father chuckled before letting out a short cough.

Ambrosia frowned and crossed her arms.

"I don't think it was food poisoning or alcohol."

Her father flipped a page, unfazed by her statement.

"Someone poisoned you," Ambrosia proclaimed, letting her words float around in the silent room.

"Doesn't matter as long as I am living the Lord will keep me safe-"

Ambrosia cut him off with a groan and began to pace in front of his bed.

"Of course it matters, you are the owner of the house and believe it or not with you sick Tania will try everything to snag this house into her claws!"

"Ambrosia, please..." her father coughed out and set his book down beside him. The old black man looked at her with a tired expression.

Ambrosia knew to stop before she got herself worked up. It was just hard for her, to be back with him and possibly losing him so quickly, like her mother.

"Let's talk about something else," her father offered.

"How were you doing, before the funeral...It had been so long since we spoke."

Ambrosia sat on the edge of her father's bed and fiddled with a piece of her hair.

"Well, college is still stressful work," she admitted.

"There is work, my boss, my house rent, and...life really." Ambrosia looked at her father who was comfortably wrapped in his blanket.

"How about you and Ivy?"

Ambrosia's father blinked as he thought.

"Not as well as you would think," he answered.

"Ivy has been causing trouble back at school."

Ambrosia tilted her head and listened.

"She's been going around skipping class and hanging out with a bad crowd of older kids," he paused and sighed, "she thinks I don't know these things, but I see her sneak out at night and hide things in her room."

"Have you confronted her?" Ambrosia question with a hard look.

"Every time I do, she lies, sometimes so well I find myself questioning what I think is happening."

She lies.

"Hmm." Ambrosia looked down as she tried to attach the new information to her sister's recent behavior.

"During the early summer, I had her go here to stay with Grandma Hill, to help her get away from the trouble...and maybe even get my mother to smack some sense into her," Ambrosia's father laughed to himself while shaking his head.

"But it seems she came back...well, then all this mess happened..."

Ambrosia found herself holding her father's hand, she cherished the warmth as she glanced up at him.

"I'll talk to her, you rest for now okay," Ambrosia said slowly. She got up and looked out the window which had a good view of the back patio area.

Ambrosia scanned the area until she spotted her little Sadie running around between a few hedges within the fenced part of the patio Ambrosia had placed her in.

Sadie was running back and forth in front of a tall figure and it suddenly called Ambrosia to leave.
