Ambrosia will blossom in my love

Her sweet lips fall upon my own

The sweetness forever stuck in my mind

Love of the family.

Ambrosia went to see her father in hopes to see him in better health.

But he was not, he seemed to have even gotten worse.

"How are you feeling?" Ambrosia asked her father who lay with his eyes closed.

Ivy sat on the edge of his bed her eyes glancing at Ambrosia then her father.

Their father snapped his eyes open and smiled at the two girls.

"A little tired, but I should be well by tomorrow," he said trying to suppress and cough in the process.

Ivy gave Ambrosia a look of discontent and stood up walking out of the room. Ambrosia let her father drift off before following her sister.

However, was waiting by the door texting someone and when Ambrosia came out of the room she quickly shoved her phone into her back pocket.

Ambrosia noticed but did not mention it.

"So, what do you think?" Ivy asked pulling her curly hair over her shoulder.

Her brown eyes stared at Ambrosia with an uneasiness.

"He was fine yesterday..." Ambrosia began but caught sight of a women walking up caring a bucket and sponge.

"Excuse me, who are you?"

Ivy turned around to see the pudgy woman come up the stairs. The woman froze and set the cleaning supplies down and rubbed her hands on her white apron.

"I am the housekeeper....Mrs. Tania told me to-"

"Tania!" Ivy growled.

Ivy stormed towards the stairs and pushed the woman nearly knocking her down and rushed down the stairs. Ambrosia helped the woman pick up the supplies and apologize for the inconvenience before running after her younger sister.

She found Ivy slamming her fists against an office door.

Ambrosia grabbed her and whipped her around.

"You pushed that woman!"

"She shouldn't be here," Ivy spat.

"It's not her fault, Ivy!" Ambrosia yelled, her gripping getting tighter.

"You're right"

Ivy tore away and met the face of their Aunt Tania.

"Get out!" Ivy screeched.

Tania's eyes widened and she closed the door behind her.

"Listen here young lady, you will speak to me with respect."

"Fuck you."

Ambrosia raised her eyebrows at her and tried to grab her arm but Ivy refused to give into her sister's hands.

Without warning, Tania's hand came crashing into her cheek and Ivy stumbled into Ambrosia.

Ambrosia caught her in shock and stared at her Aunt who gave a dangerous frown.

"Don't you ever hit my sister," Ambrosia said watching her Aunt slip back into the office, only gaining and snicker in response.

Although she didn't understand the outburst from her sister, she would not tolerate her Aunt. Ivy soon got readjusted and went off to her room.

Ambrosia decided to wait in her room until her father woke up before she would discuss the incident.

Unfortunately, she slowly dozed off.

Wrapped in a blanket of her own obliviousness and rested her head on a pillow of lies.

Daylight had struck Ambrosia unpleasantly like annoying child flickering the lights.

Flickering the lights?

Ambrosia forced her eyes open to see her old dog wrestling with the curtains on the windows. Ambrosia groaned getting out of the comforts of her bed and scooping her pet into her arms.

"Time for a walk, hm?"

Sadie barked in excitement at these words and the sound of her collar being picked up. Ambrosia yawned and smiled walking out of her room.

Ambrosia had gone outside from the back of the house porch and garden. Drowsily she ventured with out of the garden area immediately being exposed the acres of woods that extended outward.

The sleepy girl walked in her slippers and fox pajamas nearly tripping over the large roots of trees as she trudged deeper in the woods.

Ambrosia released the dog to go do her business in the bushes, while she went to sit on a rock, yawning once again.

"Ambrosia?" A voice called from behind her.

Ambrosia turned around and her heart dropped into her stomach. Elias stood in all black, his pale skin contrasting greatly. He smiled and walked towards her.

Ambrosia was half-awake and she stood up shaking her head unable to bring the words out of her mouth.

"You-me....can't be here, uh."

Elias cocked his head and smiled in confusion as he stood in front of her playing with a curl of her hair that strayed.

"What are you doing out here so early?" Ambrosia questioned.

"I like to run in the morning."

"Mhmm." She was not convinced.

Ambrosia didn't even realize that she had closed her eyes and was falling victim to his hypnotizing touch. His hands were so warm against her cold face. His body was so warm. But it was so cold this morning...was he running?

Ambrosia blinked slowly watching him carefully. He of course noticed and gave a childish smile successfully diverting her attention.

"What did the doctor say about your hand?" Ambrosia asked looking off at his wrapped knuckles.

Elias flexed his hand.

"It wasn't as bad as he thought, flower."

Ambrosia touched his hand tenderly examining it herself.

This young man with black hair shading his dark eyes that just seemed to consume her every movement, drew her in.

Closer and closer they became.

The lust for his touch was uncontrollable for some reason, it entertained him and Ambrosia could see the enjoyment reflect onto his eyes.

The previous warning voice of Mrs. Henway came calling like a crow.

"Elias, I can't...I don't want this,"Ambrosia spoke nudging him away.

Elias smile dropped and his eyes searched Ambrosia as if she was the answer to all his problems.

"Where did you get that idea from?"

Ambrosia looked back quizzically.

"What?"

Elias shook his head and reset into a blank face. He crossed his arms and watched as scampered back towards Ambrosia.

"Why don't we go out today..." Elias stated, she could sense the pressure in his voice.

Ambrosia shook her head.

"As friends, only!" Elias said putting his hands up in defense, his personality instantly rigid but his voice trying hard not to give it away.

Ambrosia looked away and scratched Sadie.

"That's a date, Elias."

"No flower, think of it as an affectionate social appointment," Elias countered.

"Fine Elias...only as friends," Ambrosia said rubbing her eyes as the sunlight streamed brighter between the leaves of the oak tree leaves.

Elias' face lit up and he held out his arm in a chivalrous manner.

"I'll escort you back my friend."

The last word was forced like a strained cough.

Ambrosia rolled her eyes and held his arm.

"You are ridiculous."

"Only for you," Elias muttered.
