《More Than You Realize》Chapter 19: HE'S MY BROTHER!

She was right... I went into shock. So I was wrong all this time. I kept trying to kidnap him and would soon dispose of him. He was my brother the whole time!
"That... honestly explains a lot. It explains why I couldn't hurt him when I kidnapped him. That explains why Ty didn't want me in his room. He must've had the documents of that. I've... been leading a lie my whole life!" I said in realization. I felt a warm liquid run down my face.
My mom wipes the liquid away and gave me a small smile. She grabbed my shoulders tightly. Her face went serious, and she pierced her lips into a thin line.
"Break free. Sabre is extremely weak right now because he doesn't have his powers. Will you defend him from now on, Jake?" my mom questioned. I had to think for a moment.
"Yeah. Sabre is my brother. I won't leave him again!" I exclaimed with a smile myself. My mom gave me a delighted smile before disappearing into mist. I blinked a few times, then got serious.
I wasn't lying. Sabre is my brother. With this knowledge, everything has changed. I can't destroy him. I'll even help him defeat Ty.
My mom said I had powers made for evil intentions, but Ty never forced me to use any powers. Heck, I thought I was powerless. No matter, but I can probably use these powers to get out of here.
'Come on, Slade. You're stronger than whatever Ty used to control you. FIGHT BACK!' I thought angrily. I felt myself jerk to a halt... well the thing controlling me. I looked around after I heard a weird noise.
I saw some black mist swirl into a person. They looked exactly like me. I'm not sure if someone could tell us apart. This figure growled at me.
"Do you really think that you can defeat me? Come on, Slade. Give it up. Ty already allowed me to take control; just let it happen," he taunted with a smirk. I growled back at him.
"No! I know the truth about this little game Ty's been playing. From now on, I'm helping Sabre in any way I can. He's my brother, and I won't let you hurt him anymore than you already did!" I exclaimed.
The figure sighed angrily. He snapped his fingers, and the chains got shorter. I couldn't even move my arms up at all now. I tugged on the chains, but it didn't seem to work.
"Don't plan on getting out of here. You know nothing about your powers. There is no way you are getting out of here any time soon," the figure said with a smirk. He began to disappear into the cloud of mist he formed from. I felt anger rise in my chest.

"Don't underestimate me..." I mumbled. I felt something get released from my body, but I couldn't tell what. I felt like I wasn't even in this area anymore. I felt lost...
The figure reappeared, and he gave me the most shocked expression I've ever seen. He honestly looked a little scared at the moment.
"So you do know how to use your powers..." the figure mumbled.
I snapped my head to where I could fully face the figure. My fists were clutched together tightly. My lips parted to let my gritted teeth show. I felt the weight of the chains being released from my body.
"This is your end," I said before one last burst of energy exited my "body". The figure looked terrified as the energy grew closer and closer to him.
"THIS ISN'T THE END, SLADE!" the figure yelled before getting destroyed.
My eyes snapped open as I came back to the real world. I took some deep breaths and made my way down to the ground.
"My name... is Jake. Jake Favre," I said feeling every ounce of evil drain from me.
My eyes traced the many patterns in the ceiling. It was basically like making constellations. Each little addition made something different.
"Sabre? Are you okay?" Galaxy Steve asked as he, slowly, made his way to the bed I was laying on. I nodded my head, still not able to speak.
"Do you know of anyway we could get it to where you can talk?" Mary asked as she entered the room. I pierced my lips together and shook my head. "Oh..."
Silence filled the room, so I went back to making shapes and figures in the ceiling. So far, I've found a cat, a square (obviously), and I've found many things representing different symbols (fire, water, mind, etc.).
"You look tired. Maybe you should get some sleep," Galaxy Steve said as he walked out of the room. Mary nodded her head, and she left as well. Now, the room felt empty. However, Galaxy Steve was right. My eyes didn't want to stay open. It didn't take long at all for me to go to sleep.
"SABRE!" a somewhat familiar voice called out. I groaned as I began to wake up from my peaceful slumber. "Sabre... you better wake up, like right now!"
I groaned before repositioning in my bed. I heard this person growl a little.
"E-" I shot up and glared at the speaking person. I flinched. I blinked quite a few times, even though he couldn't see. "At least that worked."
"Wh... w... o..." I began before this guy covered my mouth.
"I know you can't speak right now, but I get what you're asking. "Who am I?" It'll be weird if I tell you in this state. Let's get you to where you can at least say a few words," he said. I nodded, but I also inspected this person up and down.

His blue eyes showed many emotions... all were related to sadness. I saw... well... sadness, regret, hurt, and even remorse. He had purple hair that faded into a darker type of blue. He had two small, light, pink streaks of hair right up front. He wore a turquoise shirt and had bands around his wrists. Both were cut in half; the bottom being a dark gray, and the top half being turquoise as well. He had brown pants and black shoes to finish his attire.
I can't help but feel like I know this guy from somewhere. I've seen him before, but where? Man, that really bugs me. I hate the feeling of feeling like you know someone, but you don't know who they are.
My door opened slowly. The guy took his hand away from my mouth, so he wouldn't look evil I guess.
"Hey, Sabre! I thought you'd like some-" Alex clouding finish his sentence because the new guy scared him. "AH! WHO IN THE WORLD ARE YOU!"
"Shh... gosh, you guys are loud. I'll explain later, but I really need Void Steve right now," the guy said. As if on cue, Void Steve trotted into the room.
Void Steve questioned while crossing his arms. The guy nodded.
"Yes... can everyone come in here so we can speak in private?" the guy asked. Void Steve nodded.
Void Steve yelled as he poked his head out the door. I was really confused right now.
Everyone made their way to the room, and Void Steve and the guy walked out to talk. Whispers went around the room until we all heard Void Steve yell in shock.
The guy closed the door behind us. I raised an eyebrow. I was very confused about this kid.
I demanded while crossing my arms once again. He let out a huge sigh.
"Okay... you might freak out," he said messing with his hair. He ran his fingers through it like he's never done that before.
I said readjusting myself so I could be more comfortable.
"Okay... Void Steve, it's me, Slade," he said patting his hands against his chest.
One blink.
Another blink.
Another blink.
I screamed jumping away a little bit. Slade covered his ears.
"I figured that was going to happen," he mumbled while uncovering his ears.
I whispered so the others wouldn't hear.
"Please... I really don't wanna be reminded of that. Call me Jake," he said quietly. I nodded my head.
I asked. I realized this was the guy who's down us wrong this whole adventure.
"You know that I took Sabre's powers, right?" Jake questioned before demonstrating some of Sabre's abilities.
I questioned with a slight growl. He shook his head.
"No. That wasn't me. I mean, it was me, but when I took Sabre's powers, that was Ty controlling me. I had no control. Look... I don't wanna tell him yet, but I'll tell you. My name is Jake... Jake Favre," he said rubbing the back of his head. I had to think for a moment.
I asked realizing what he said. He nodded his head.
"The knowledge of him being my brother is actually what helped my snap out of my mind controlled state. However, that's not the entire reason I'm here. I kinda don't know how to give Sabre's his powers back. I don't have any knowledge about taking or giving powers. I was hoping you might know?" Jake asked with some hope in his voice.
I said questioning my own abilities.
Jake sighed. His body slumped down in defeat.
I began to suggest before he cut me off.
"No! I don't know how they would react. Look, I've done too much wrong. I need to be alone... mainly because I won't be accepted anywhere. I plan to give Sabre his powers back and leave," Jake said before he began to run his arm. His expression showed so much regret and sadness.
I said trying to convince them to give them a chance.
"But you didn't try to kill them multiple times. You didn't take Sabre's powers away. You didn't put Sabre in a state anywhere near what I put him in," Jake said as he kept patting his fingers against his chest. Tears formed in his eyes as he kept explaining the bad things he's done. I let out a sigh.
I said with a slight laugh. Jake laughed a little as well.
Jake nodded his head sadly. I don't think he was still too sure about the others accepting him. I meant every word I said.
"So... really quick. Tell me how you think I could restore his powers?" Jake asked. He wasn't going to go back in until he had an idea. I was sure of that.
I said placing my chin in my hand.
"Yes... my powers or basically the opposites of Sabre's. Mine are more corrupted. Heh, I just found that out like 1 hour ago," Jake said while crossing his arms and rolling his eyes.
I said. Jake sighed once again and nodded his head.
"Well... let's head in. I need to break the news to everyone, and restore Sabre's powers," Jake said before making his way to the door.
All heads snapped towards us as we entered the room.
