《More Than You Realize》Chapter 18: Imposter!

Rainbow Steve collapsed after I told him what happened with Sabre. Void Steve left Sabre for a minute to go check on Rainbow Steve. I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"Man... this is a bad situation for you, Void Steve," I said with a light chuckle. He looked over to me and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "You have two passed out and not coming back for a while. I'm basically useless. I've dragged Sabre for about 2 hours, and I was really tired before that even happened."
Void Steve exclaimed before running off. I watched as he disappeared.
I banged the back of my head against the tree. I looked over to Rainbow Steve and then to Sabre. Bother we're still out like a light. The quietness was something I was use to. I felt pretty lonely right now.
I ran into many branches as I ran through the small forest. I didn't realize how far Rainbow Steve took me until now. I guess I was too caught up in my own thoughts.
"Void Steve! You're back!" Mary exclaimed happily, but she had pain in her voice. Confused, I looked up, and I almost laughed at the sight.
She was struggling to keep herself okay as Alex continued to pin her into the dirt. "Sabre" looked confused, but he tried to contain his laughter at the same time.
I asked while crossing my arms. Both gave me an awkward smile.
"Where's Rainbow Steve?" "Sabre" asked. I growled at him.
I growled. Alex and Mary flinched, and "Sabre"s eyes went wide.
"W-what? What are you talking about, Void Steve? How am I an imposter?" he asked shakily. Alex got off of Mary and dragged her away from "Sabre". He looked shock. "You guys too?"
"Are you the result Sabre, or not?" Mary growled lowly. Another mods swing. Bipolar much?
"Grrrrr..." evil Sabre growled dangerously. We all took a step back as he was coated in some black substance. "Why did you have to ruin everything! You will pay, Void Steve!"
Alex and Mary flapped their wings and flew into the air to dodge the attacking imposter of Sabre. I didn't react as quickly, so he pinned me to the ground with some sort of black substance; the same substance that covered him just a second ago.
The weird goo had faded and replaced his look-alike clothes of Sabre's to darker clothes. They were the complete opposite of Sabre's clothes. Black jacket, red shirt, and midnight black pants. He had taken the bandana off from around his eyes, showing his dark red eyes.
I struggled until I broke free from the substance, and I flew high unit the air before he could do anything else. I joined Alex and Mary in the sky.
"How did you know?" Alex asked. I looked over to where I left the other three.

I said pointing to where they were. Both flinched, then looked back down to Evil Sabre. He was growling at us, but began walking away. His job was done since his little cover was blown.
"Let's go!" Alex exclaimed before flying off the the location I pointed to. Mary followed, and I followed after her.
All three of us landed next to the passed out Rainbow Steve and Sabre. Galaxy Steve was struggling to try and stand on his own. He was shaking and holding onto the tree. Alex was quick to catch him when he fell down.
"Thanks, Alex. Let me try again," Galaxy Steve said trying to get to his previous position. Alex wouldn't let him.
"Heheh, no! Are you a fool? You can barely hold onto a tree. Do you really think you'll be able to stand by yourself?" Alex lectured forcing Galaxy Steve to sit down.
I said. I heard some leaves being crunched, so I looked over to Sabre. He rolled around some, and was forcing himself into a sitting position.
He snapped... well... as quickly as he could. He looked so dazed. He had no expression on his face at all. I kneeled beside of him, and put a hand on his upper arm.
"V... V... Vo... *sigh*" he mumbled quietly. He was extremely weak. He could barely talk.
"He wasn't able to talk when Slade drained his powers. I don't know if he's just weak, or if he can't talk without his powers or something," Galaxy Steve said.
I said before helping Sabre up. I threw his arm over my shoulders.
"Hey! Why does he get to stand!" Galaxy Steve exclaimed angrily.
I said making both of us as comfortable as possible.
"We should head back to the house. Alex, you get Rainbow Steve. I'll get Galaxy Steve. Void Steve already has Sabre," Mary said as she put Galaxy Steve in the same position as me and Sabre.
"I... I..." Sabre mumbled a little louder than last time. I hushed him so he didn't strain himself.
I said as we al began walking back to the house. Alex was kind of struggling with Rainbow Steve, but tried not to show any signs of his struggle.
"O... O... k," Sabre got out slowly. He fell asleep on the way to the house, making it harder to get him to the house.
'I can't control myself. I don't want to do this! MAKE IT STOP!'
I fought against the chains that held me in place in the vast abyss of my mind. I never wanted to know what it felt like to be controlled, but I know now. I can't do anything... it's a hopeless feeling. I HATE THIS!
I can't continue like this. How can I regain my control? Ty's got a tight grip on me. Why was I even needed that badly? I DON'T WANT TO BE THIS ANYMORE!

"SLADE!" I heard a voice yell in the oblivion. I snapped away from my problems and focused on the strange voice. I looked around, but I could only see the blackness that surrounded me. "Slade..."
"Who's there?" I called out twisting around until I couldn't anymore. The chains were short, so my ability to turn was limited.
"It's me Slade... your mother," the, now, gentle voice said. I flinched a little, then I growled.
"What do you want? Last time I checked I was saved from your clutches; along with the rest of the family!" I yelled tugging on the chains a little. A women appeared from a cloud of mist right in front of me.
"You truly believe those lies? Slade... our family never laid a hurtful finger on you. We loved you, just like your younger brother did. He cried for days when you disappeared," the women who claimed to be my mom said with the saddest expression she could.
"From what Ty said, he saved me from all of you guys!" I exclaimed to the women. She let out a deep sigh.
"Slade. He lied to you. You've lived a lie. When you were younger, our little family was outside having a wonderful time. You and your younger brother were playing around with whatever you two found. Well, you found a small metal ball. You two wanted to play catch with this little ball, and we had no clue what you two found at the time. Your brother threw it to you at one point, and the ball opened up. A gas was released over you, and then Ty appeared. He took you without a word," she explained sincerely. I raised an eyebrow. Am I suppose to believe that?
"You really expect me to believe your little story? I may not remember that day, but if you really cared about me, you would've tried to find me!" I yelled pulling on the chains. Sadly, I couldn't seem to break free.
"Slade... we did. Ty took you to another dimension. You don't remember that day because he erased everything from your past. Can I tell you a story, my son?" she asked with a pathetic smile. I rolled my eyes.
"Sure. It's not like I have anything better to do. Let me hear this fantasy you want me to believe," I said sitting on the ground? Is there really a ground. Whatever.
"Two ordinary parents gave birth to two ordinary kids. You might know the kids. Elan Sabre Favre and Jake Yale Favre," she said with a slight hint of question.
"I know Sabre. I don't know this Jake kid," I said raising my eyebrow in annoyance.
"Anyways... these two were ordinary children. Ordinary for them. They were freaks to other kids. Sabre, as you know, had many abilities. Being so young, it made it harder for him to control his powers. His powers corresponded with is emotions. Whatever he felt, is what power came out. Anger, fire. Sadness, water. Determination, rocks. I think you get the idea. Jake was a little different. His powers haven't surfaced at the time. His powers were completely different from Sabre's. He was more corrupted. His powers were for evil intentions. He knew about these corrupted powers, but didn't want to use them the way they were made to be used," she explained. I actually felt bad for this Jake kid.
"What next?" I asked curiously. I was actually interested in this little story.
"Jake was kidnapped one day. The guy who kidnapped him was well known for his evil plans. He planned to turn Jake against everyone he knew and give himself a new name for people to fear. The guys was Ty... and he wanted to use the powers for what they were made for; that was pure evil. He succeeded in his plan. Jake became an evil person that everyone feared," she said.
"What about Sabre? I mean, I know he's a good guy and all that... but how was he after his brother went evil?" I asked with slight sympathy.
"Heartbroken. He felt like every ounce of joy was stripped away when that happened. Now, he doesn't remember the incident. When you and Void Steve attacked so long ago, he sent off massive waves of energy, making a huge blast. That blasted altered all of his memories except for those of his family. Everything that was about his powers was lost. That's why he was so lost when he found out about his powers once again," she said walking over to me. I watched her closely as she kept getting closer and closer.
"What happened to Jake? What's up with him now; do you know?" I asked. She hesitated. She looked side to side until her eyes met mine. Her eyes showed so much distress and sadness.
"You know about Sabre... and you might go into shock when you hear what happened to Jake," she said moving some hair that had fallen in front of her face.
"Tell me!" I demanded desperately.
"This is a true story. Sabre is my son and Jake is my other son," she said quietly. I stared for a moment.
I had to think. What did that mean? Why would I- OH MY GOD!
"Y-you m-mean?" I stuttered while shaking quite a bit. She nodded her head slowly. "I'M JAKE! I'M SABRE'S BROTHER!"

Azarinth Healer
A new world with nearly unlimited possibilities. A status, classes, magic and monsters. Sounds good? Well, for Ilea it didn't come quite as expected as for some other protagonists, nor was there a king or god to welcome her. The grand quest? Well, she might figure that out someday but for now, a new world with new food is prize enough. Her fists at the ready, she's prepared to punch and get punched, however long it takes and however many limbs she might have to regrow. A story I've started writing now quite a while ago. Transported to another world, somewhat standard fantasy setting with my beginner attempts to make it dark but funny. There are Litrpg elements here but I do hope it's not too heavy and annoying. The fights should be interesting and aren't just numbers vs numbers. Contrary to the title the protagonist will be quite an offensive fighter. Ilea Spears is your average sarcastic kick-boxing fast food worker and soon to be student. She will be transported to another world rather conventionally and will be confronted with survival in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. My experience is incredibly lacking. If you find yourself hating it early on, do convey your anger in a detailed comment or review :) I want to get better but without any feedback it's simply quite difficult. Quick heads up: Around chapter 120 there are a bunch of longer PoV changes that I discontinued again shortly after. The Arc around chapters 150-200 is darker than the rest and the themes shift quite a bit. Just know that it goes back to what you've come to know after that section. Thank you for reading. Quick update June 2019: Many complaints regarding the formatting, specifically spacing in conversations and of course the usage of the present tense in the first 36 chapters have been addressed. I'm of course learning by the day but compared to how it was before it should be an improvement at least. Chapters usually around 3k words Cover art by Kevin Catalan
