《More Than You Realize》Chapter 1: The Void

The darkened sky began to cover the vast world around me. My eyes couldn't advert away from the sky. Something about it... it just wasn't right. I couldn't say what was wrong, but it just didn't feel like the normal night time sky I'm used to.

"Sabre?" a high pitched voice spoke out questionably. I turned around to face the rainbow colored Steve. He looked at me with slight concern as he glanced at the sky himself. "I-is everything alright?"

I couldn't help but smile softly. I glanced back up to the sky with a small frown, though.

"I guess. It's just that... there's something off about the sky; don't you think?" I asked looking back into his eyes. He raised an eyebrow before shaking his head side to side.

"No. It seems fine to me," he said. "But it's late. We need to get back."

I nodded. He smiled and began to walk away from where he stood. I glanced back at the sky before walking behind Rainbow Steve. Suddenly, and don't ask why or how, I felt like something, no someone, was coming in hot behind us.

I quickly turned, only to see a fireball coming directly at us. My eyes widened.

I turned back around and began to run. I grabbed Rainbow Steve's wrist and dragged him along to.

"WOah! What in the world Sabre?" Rainbow asked as he began running so his feet wouldn't drag.

"FIREBALLS!" I exclaimed. He glanced back. He turned back around, eyes wide.

He kept running along side me, weaving through the trees of a forest. Lighting strikes dug deep holes behind us, and where we were running.

At one point, a lighting bolt struck just right. I fell down into the hole, but Rainbow Steve was able to dodge it. I ran over to the side to begin climbing my way out. Before I could, however, the huge hole shrunk, and was surrounded by bedrock.

My inventory was cleared, leaving nothing but the Galaxy Sword.

"W-what?" I said worryingly. I tried to jump to get a grip on the side, but I knew it was hopeless to even try.

I heard an all to familiar voice say menacingly. Void Steve stood victoriously at the top of the hole.

'Wait, he cleared my inventory? Then why is the sword still here. Better not take it out; he might get mad,' I thought glaring up to the evil Steve.

Another Steve came up beside him. It shocked me. Rainbow Steve stood with him, giving me a soft frown. My eyes went wide in shock.

"R-Rainbow Steve... why? HE'S EVIL!" I yelled pointing madly at him. He shock his head.

"N-no, he's not. He's a good guy... but you, I'm not so sure," Rainbow Steve said hugging his arms. He can't be serious, right? I saved his life, and he's saved mine. How can he say that?

"Rainbow Steve... how can you say that?" I said with a little hurt in my voice. He just looked away sadly.

Void Steve said looking at Rainbow Steve. He nodded and left.

I looked to Void. My breathing caused my whole body to move when I did breath. I glared at him, not wanting to show the slight bits of fear I had right now.

"What do you want with me? I don't have any powers, so what do you possibly want with a worthless, no power guy like me?!" I yelled at him. Somehow, it felt like Void was smirking down to me.

Void said. I stared at him for a moment, trying to contain my laughter. I couldn't hold it very long.

"Hahahahahahahah! That's funny. You really think I'm just gonna hand this sword over?" I asked with a smirk while whipping out the sword. I pointed it at Void Steve, letting the power emit from the starry blade. "I will NEVER do that!"

Void Steve explained. I scoffed and put the sword back into my inventory.

"Even more reason not to just hand it over. You really want this sword, in fact, you need it. You won't destroy me, and you know I'm not just going to hand it over," I said looking up with a slight smirk on my face.

Void Steve said. I raised an eyebrow, letting the smirk leave my face.

I bright light blinded my eyes. My hands went up to my eyes, blocking the light from entering my eyes.

Slowly, I opened my eyes. I wish I didn't. My eyes went wide in fear.

I didn't even know where I was, but I was terrified of it. The sky was pitch black, yet the world was just as bright if the sun was shining. It looked like a Mesa biome, not the best biome. I gulped in fear before doing multiple 360's, wondering where Void Steve was.

"VOID STEVE! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I yelled clenching my fist tightly together. Nothing. This confused me beyond belief. Questions races in and out of my mind.

Suddenly, a bunch of lightning began to strike right in front of me. I backed away so the lightning wouldn't strike me.

Once the lightning calmed down, I was able to see who was the cause of it. Void Steve was floating in mid-air, looking down to me with no expression; even though his face was hard to see, his glowing eyes gave away his emotions.

Void Steve said darkly. He narrowed his red eyes at me. I didn't like the way he said my name, either. It sounded like he would kill me at any moment.

I glanced around my surroundings, hoping to find a cave I could run into and hide. Sadly, this mesa biome didn't offer much. He chuckled, seeing my useless attempts to find an escape route.

he said coming closer to me, beyond my comfort zone.

I had to make a decision, and quick. He kept getting even closer, so I backed away. He just kept getting closer and closer, making me back far away from the evil Steve.

I turned and ran. Probably wasn't the best idea, but I didn't want to see what he was going to do to me. Anything was a possibility. I didn't have any powers, so my destruction would be easy.

I couldn't get very far before lighting struck in front of me, making me stop dead in my tracks. It was so close, causing me to fall down on the ground. I groaned a little.

I tried to get up, but failed when Void Steve placed his foot down on my chest. My back slammed into the red sand, making me close my eyes tightly shut. The hood of my chicken onesie fell out of place, uncovering most of my hair and the knot tying my bandana around my eyes.

I heard Void Steve chuckle, but I didn't want to open my eyes in fear of what I would see. Suddenly, I felt the fabric around my eyes loosen.

'Oh, he did NOT just take my bandana off!' I mentally yelled in my head opening my eyes the ever so slightest. I felt the black fabric being ripped away from my face, so I, quickly, covered my eyes with my hands. No one, by any means necessary, will ever see my eyes.

"GET OFF OF ME!" I yelled as I began to struggle underneath Void Steve. I heard him growl before shifting all of his weight through his leg and on me. My breathing hitched as I struggled for air.

he said chuckling. I wasn't going to open my eyes, I refused to open them.

I don't care who was in front of me, it would end the same way before I hide my eyes. I would be called a freak. I would be laughed at, avoided, and even thrown out. No matter how much I was struggling to survive right now, I didn't want to open my eyes.

he, somewhat, purred. It was kind of creepy. Okay, now he was singing. He had a weird way of persuasion.

"N-no... just g-get o-off of me!" I gasped out when I had chances. He laughed. Why does he want me to open my eyes so badly?

Void Steve said with a smirk. You could just hear it in his voice, but he did get to me.

My eyes snapped open as I moved my arm away. It wasn't my full intention, but hearing Rainbow Steve's name... I would do anything to get my friend back.

His eyes went wide before he completely got off of me. He back away slightly and stared at me in pure shock. I wanted to get up and face him, but I was too weak to do so.

Void Steve mumbled. I forced my body off the ground. I placed my hand over where Void Steve had placed his foot on me.

"What? Gonna call me a freak? Throw me aside? Oh, wait. You already planned on that," I smirked as I stood up on my feet, red eyes staring into my red and yellow eyes.

My eyes are super weird. Neither of my parents had red or yellow eyes, and neither did anyone else in the family. Kids would always call me a freak.

A loud rumbling noise was heard throughout the domain. I raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Void Steve with a hint of concern. I growled.

"WHY IS THAT ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!" I yelled grabbing my blindfold that was thrown to the ground. A small section was torn. I could still wear it, but I would need to fix it soon.

Void Steve said growling at me. I sighed angrily, but decided to answer the stupid question.

"Fine. My parents gave it to me before I had to leave on my own. They gave it to me when other kids bullied me for my eyes," I said. Okay, that might've been too much detail to give him, but it was like I didn't have a filter when saying where I got the blindfold from.

Void Steve mumbled as lighting struck the ground about 20 blocks away. My body felt heavy, but I was still able to turn to face where the lighting had struck.

My eyes went wide. A... person or Steve one stood in place of the lighting, crouched down and arms extended out to the side. He looked up slowly; red eyes glaring at just me! I didn't know what he looked like, except for the black hoodie and jeans dressed on his body.

"Um... who are you?" I asked looking back into his red eyes. He didn't say anything; just kept staring. After what felt like forever, he finally broke his gaze from me. He turned his head over to Void Steve, who looked ready to attack.

"Do not think you can protect the boy!" the figure said. I flinched a little. His voice, so demonic. It wasn't as deep as Void Steve's, but it was still demonic sounding. Wait... protect the boy? Me?

Void Steve said. I looked over to me, making me slightly nervous.

What is going on?!
