"Wow... must've been tough, Felix." Minho sucked in his breath between his teeth and leaned forward to pat me on the knee. Of course, I couldn't hide my flinch when he made contact. He looked at me questionably, but shrugged it off and grabbed his skateboard.
"Know how to skate?" He asked while we both got back up on our feet.
"No. I might actually fall off this cliff if I tried."
He smiled mischievously and passed me the board. I chuckled nervously. "You're not serious..?"
He shrugged. "Doesn't hurt to try, right? You hurt yourself purposefully anyway, this shouldn't even be close to what you did."
I shook my head furiously. No way was I getting on a small piece of wood, and definitely not here.
"So, what's your story?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
He fiddled with the wheels and bit his lip before speaking. "Don't have one." He muttered.
"Oh come on Minho, you literally just said-"
"I... was just kidding. I'm just a normal person who lives in a normal house and does normal things."
"And suicide is a normal thing?"
"That was ages ago, Felix."
"But I just told you mi-"
"I SAID-" Minho raised his voice, but lowered it immediately after seeing my expression. "I said, I don't have a story and that's the end of it."
I knew that wasn't the 'end of it', but I decided I could just leave him be for now.
"Lix, you know we go to the same school, right?" He smirked at my shocked expression.
"H-How-wh-huh? How come I've never seen you around?" I asked, stumbling over my words in confusion.
"You'll find me if you know where to look." Minho's smirk never left his eyes.
"That's... creepy?" It unintentionally came out sounding like a question. I suddenly wondered if I should trust this guy.
"I'm just messing with you. You should've seen your face." He giggled, which I honestly found cute. Almost as cute as Ch- No. "You probably haven't seen me because I'm two grades above you, silly."
"Oh." I face palmed mentally, embarrassed to have not thought of that earlier.

Eight
His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year old body on another world. The first book focuses on Eight's survival on a dangerous new world. If you're a fan of Gary Paulsen's Hatchet, you'll enjoy it. The story is one of discovery, bushcraft, and finding one's way. Note that, while this is very much LitRPG, progression is slow, and Eight spends much of the first book alone. The second book recounts what happens when Eight and friends head east to the village of Voorhei. Expect a blend of fantasy adventure, ghost story, cozy mystery, and family drama. Books one and two make a complete story, while book 3 has just gotten underway.
