I didn't ask to grow up as fast as I did,

you just watered and weeded me all too much,

and all too quick.

Through these methods,

you've changed me,

and I'm no longer this easy plant to grow on your free time,

no longer shelter and shaded by the weeds around me,

or the soil that forced me to stand and obey,

but I'm also not something to be uprooted or neglected.

So now,

quickly and surely my leaves came before my stem,

and flowers are beginning to bloom with no one to support them.

My roots are few and between,

because they been eaten by predators that see me as weak.

My stem is now shooting up,

but it's wobbly and worn,

for the weight of myself is too much to hold up.

I can't be joyously upright and enjoy the sun,

for I feel the burden to support my fruit and leaves,

to will and work my roots to get its nutrients.

I'm trying to grow,

I'm trying to sprout,

but you want me to strengthen my stem cause if I don't,

I'll sure snap,

but how am I to reverse the flowers and leaves and fruits,

when it's already being picked and plucked by you?

How am I to grow down,

when I've already grown up?
