《Haunted Love | Colby Brock x reader✔》Chapter 9

I feel extremely weird. It's now currently two fifty nine a.m. I can't sleep. I'm in my bed, looking straight at the roof trying to fall asleep. But there's no use. I have this creepy vibe.
Everyone came home and are all asleep. My stomach is growling, craving food. I'm too scared to go out my room and into the kitchen for a midnight snack.
So I pull out my phone and log into YouTube, going to Sam's video we did not so long ago. I grab my headphones on my bed and plug them in my phone. I watched the video.
Throughout the video there were a few sounds. Just the keyboard, the static TV sound and knocks. I scrolled down to the comments. The first comment was posted a few minutes ago. It read:
'I appreciate that you guys do this for our entertainment, but I don't think you should've ended it that way'. As I read that, cills ran down my spine. I scrolled down once more.
'You shouldn't have ended it that way. This is not good'. I started freaking out but was put aside as a grumble came from my stomach.
I manned up and pulled my blanket aside, setting my toes on the ground. I stood up and walked to the door, slowly opening it and looking out for anyone or anything. There was nothing.
I closed my door and made my way down the stairs very slowly. Finally I was at the first floor of the house. I went to the kitchen and got out bread, penutbutter and jam.
I quickly put together my sandwich and began chewing on it. It tasted amazing. Suddenly I heard whispers. I looked around myself and my whole body froze.
All I could see was two red glowing eyes watching my every move from the window. Then I realised. Whispers are a sign of when the Midnight Man is near you. I set down my sandwich and began running up the stairs.

I got upstairs and quickly knocked on everyone's doors, shouting, "Everyone get in my room!". They all quickly got out of their rooms and into my room, except for Circa and Colby.
"Where's Circa?" I asked.
"Shit. I'll go get her." Elton said and ran out, getting Circa and coming back in. "I'll go get Colby" I said and ran to his bedroom.
I knocked on his door. No response. I knocked again. Again no response.
"Colby?" I asked. Still no response.
I opened his door. He was asleep.
I quickly walked to his bedside, touching his naked arm slightly and shaking him awake.
"Colby." I said and his eyes fluttered open.
"Everything alright?" He asked me.
"No. Come with me." I said and he stood up from his bed and followed me. We finally made it to my room. Elton brought Circa. I closed the door and locked it.
"What's wrong with you? Why would you wake us up at three twenty four in the morning?" Jake asked annoyed, still sleeping but with his eyes open. "I saw something." I answered.
Most of the roommates were seated on my big sofa I had in front of my window. The others were either sitting at my desk chair, stood up, sat on the floor or in my bed sleeping.
"What did you see?" Sam asked me. "I was busy making myself a sandwich and I heard whispers followed by two red glowing eyes watching me from afar outside the kitchen window." I began.
"Then I realised that we still should've played the game. I read the comments on your video before and most of them were things like we should not have ended it that way. Whispers is a sign of when he is near you." I said and Sam's eyes widened in realisation.

"What game?" Corey asked. "The Midnight game." Sam replied almost immediately. "Why would you play that game?" He asked. "We're thrill seekers so yeah." I replied and Corey shook his head in disappointment.
I looked past Corey and Devyn's head, into the streets of something that caught my eye.
I looked at it a bit more closer, squinting my eyes. I froze. I was in total shock.
I'm just seeing things, I thought to myself. "Do you see that?" Colby asked as he sat next to me. "That black figure?" I asked back and he nodded, now staring in the same direction as me in disbelief.
"Yes." I answered and everyone looked outside. "I don't see anything." Corey commented. "Me neither." Sam agreed.

It's all fun and games at the start for Smithy and Justin, they're counting the cash after kicking the doors off, not so much when they start kicking back. This novella is a gritty story, following the journey of two young men into the drug business with everything that entails. Strong language, violence and drug references throughout.
8 165Ancient Blood - book 1 The fall of the Phoenix

Due to genetic research it is clear that those powers are the result of certain mutations in the human DNA. A hardworking veterinary student named Rhiannon is sure to be interested in those aliens that seem to stem from her favorite books. But she is certainly less interested in becoming a full-fledged member of those clans. Same goes for Mark who's a police officer recently promoted to the capital crimes department. Being the youngest to reach that goal and being partners with his stepmother and mentor he is happy. Everything is fine. If it wasn't for his curiosity which gets him involved with the woman of his dreams... And the ancient clans that seem to be the culprit of the several crimes that he is forbidden to solve. But this is the mere beginning. There will be blood, strategy and politics as well as love and friendship. To tell you more is only going to spoil the surprise. This fiction belongs to the same universe as tavern's edge. 😊 This is my first time ever publishing anything and as you might see english isn't my native language. I am translating an ongoing story I am writing in German. Have fun I hope you will like it. In case you are interested I post this story on scribble hub, too. I really don't steal from myself, though 😂
8 86Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."
