《Just Business?》Interviews

I took a deep breath, and walked into Bill's office. He gestured for me to sit down, and I did. He sat down at his desk and reached for a binder that I guessed contained the questions for the interview. I was right.

"Ms. Hamilton, here at Wright Inc. we have high expectations for our employees."

"That's understandable. I got my degree in business after 4 years."

"That's great. Where else have you worked before?"

"I don't have any actually business experience besides what I've learned in class considering I just graduated. I used to work in retail stores like Forever 21 to get through college."

"Okay, so you have no experience besides selling clothes?"

"Yes, but I was the top of my class. I could handle whatever you throw at me."

"Hmm. This goes against my better judgment, but how about we go see Mr. Wright and ask what he thinks. Let's go ask the receptionist, Trinity if he has anything planned."

"Okay."

We walked over to Tri's desk in the lobby. She was answering phone call after phone call, and it looked exhausting. Eventually she had everything sorted out, and could help us.

"Is Mr. Wright available?"

"You know James, his assistant is in charge of his appointments. I don't think he's busy."

"Thanks, Trinity."

We walked over to his office, and it was gigantic. Bill walked over to James's desk which was right in front of Mr. Wright's office door.

"Is Mr. Wright busy?"

"No. He's free for the next hour."

"Thanks."

We walked in, and I looked around. His office was gorgeous. It was modern, and black and white. Then I saw Mr. Wright himself. I now understand Trinity's drool. That man is gorgeous.

"Mr. Wright, this is Olivia Hamilton."

"Ah yes. The girl who applied for the PA position. How was the interview?"

"Well she has very impressive education credentials, but doesn't have any experience because she just graduated."

Mr. Wright looked me up and down. I was a little uncomfortable because I wasn't used to people studying me like that. After a long, deep breath, he called in James.

"James, you still have two weeks left correct?"

"Yes, Mr. Wright."

"Well for those last two weeks, you will be training Ms. Hamilton on how to do your job."

"Yes, Mr. Wright."

"Thank you, James."

James left, and I was standing there grinning. Mr. Wright noticed my smile, and cracked a small one of his own. Then Bill had to leave for an appointment with an employee's complaint. Mr. Wright stood there with me.

"Work starts at 9 a.m. sharp. It ends at 9 p.m. but there may be overtime."

"Okay. I have nothing but time, Mr. Wright."

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Thank you, Mr. Wright."

I walked out of his office, and went to the lobby. I ran over to Trinity. She looked at me, hoping for good news.

"Did you get it?"

"Yes! James is going to be training me for the next two weeks."

"Oh. James is a cutie too huh?"

"Tri!"

"I'm just saying. He won't be working here anymore, so if you want to --"

"He's also moving to take care of his sick mother."

"Ugh yeah. I guess."

"And what about Bill? Why was he coming to you when he knows it's James's job?"

"I don't know. That man finds any excuse to come over here and bother me."

"I think he likes you."

"I know he does. I don't like him. I have Nikko remember?"

"Yeah. Bill isn't bad looking though."

"No he isn't, but he's still no Nikko."

"Once again true."
