《I should care because?》The forgotten Legend

The moon was shining as bright as ever, a raven haired girl was sitting atop a mansion, reading a book. On first glance, the book seemed like a regular book, but if someone were to take a closer look, they would discover that the writings on it were of another world.
A long time ago, the land was covered in darkness. People of all ages lived in fear, always wondering if it was the day that they would die. Creatures of night roamed the world freely, and did whatever they wanted, and nobody could stop them. The preists tried summoning a hero of another world, and succeeded. Only, the hero died the following week. So they summoned another hero, this time it was of a girl, she was instantly labeled a 'saint'. Her hair was like that of gold, and eyes was that of the blue sky that they have nearly forgotten. Sadly, she died of mana depletion. They then summoned hero after hero, and they all died on after another.
And so they lived year after year, hope dying with each passing day. They tried praying to the goddess of light, but her light couldn't reach the world covered in darkness, where light was immediately extinguished the moment it was felt and that goodness, or holiness was instantly turned dark and evil.
One day, when all hope was lost, the young man went to the temple of darkness and prayed. Prayed for the goddess of darkness to do what the god of light couldn't do, which was to save them from this living hell. The population of the people dwindled to that of a few hundreds, and he was sure that they would perish within that year.
No one knows what has happened within that temple, all anyone really saw, that is it they could see at all, was a dark ominous red light. The man who had entered, walked out, seeming as though nothing has changed, that is, if you disregard the glint in his bloody red eyes.

The following days, a new demon was said to be born, they were called the vampires. They got their power from sucking the blood of others, at first they were regarded with fear, but as time past, it was said that they saved multiple people from the grasps of death and soon they became the hope of all people. Then, the unimaginable occurred.
The darkness had dispersed, letting people see the light of day again. The beasts have dwindled to a safe amount of numbers. At first they were grateful to the vampires for saving them from that living hell, but people dislike those that they can't kill, and can't die. In fact they fear them, they fear those more powerful than them. That was when the vampire hunting began.
Nothing really affected them, holy water, fire, time, even being stabbed in the heart, the only way to kill them was to behead them, even leaving a bit of the head attached was bad as the skin could regrow and the head would be attached back on again.
Finally, the last known vampire has died. It was the same one as the one who entered the temple of darkness. He died with a smile for he was expecting for this to happen for a long, long time, and with his death came a prophecy.

Of course, with each retelling, the prophecy changes. For what was once truth is now lies and the lie killed many, but that lie was the truth as well, and it was
Silence stared at this for a bit before thinking, 'how cheesy, this is ineed a childs world.' Even someone like her could create a better prophecy than this, besides...there were hints of tampering being done in the pages.
'Ah, perhaps they wanted to make this into a love story.'

Sokaiseva
Erika Hanover received her magic on her twelfth birthday—far earlier than anyone was supposed to—and suddenly, everything in her life made sense. Magic could solve everything. Magic was all she'd ever wanted. When she was offered a spot on the roster of a mercenary group policing magic-tinged crime in her home of upstate New York, she jumped at the chance. Anything to get away from her hometown. It didn't matter what the work was. She didn't care. Now, though, with almost a decade between herself and her time as a child soldier with the Radiant, things aren't as clear as they used to be. Part slice-of-life, part coming-of-age, part surreal absurdist nightmare, Sokaiseva is the tale of a shell-shocked shadow-war's veteran recounting her time growing up as the last line of defense in a world secretly teetering on the brink of disaster. Book Two (Teardrop Two-Step) is going live now! New chapters go up Wednesday and Sunday.

Declan was but a teenager when he was invited to Gaia. It wasn't some popular VRMMO like the ones his friend keeps recommending, nor was it a 'game' in the traditional sense. Gaia was the stopgap to Indiri, a living breathing world, the final creation of a dead genius. Invited to this world by Eve, the overseer and an AI light-years greater than any that came before her, Declan was given a choice. To join or not to join? Well, why the hell not? Hello, this is a pretty basic VR story which I started writing out of boredom, don't expect anything too great here, it's a somewhat unique setting but with mostly slice of life comedy shenanigans with no real 'plot' since I can't reliably include stakes in a world where respawning is a thing. I'll try to upload at least once every other week but real life stuff may get in the way occasionally. **WARNING** Protagonist comes with an inbuilt wizard hat. Also, any mentions of chapter titles shall be met with falling rocks TPK. **ACTUAL WARNING** Story may or may not read like the fever dream of an eclectic sasquatch with internet connection. Do be warned, that this story has extremely slow pacing by design. Join the Discord!! https://discord.gg/p2gxqs4 Laugh at my empty Patreon!!

Log Entry: 1011 Year: [Redacted] By: Cristabel [Redacted] Unit: KWSC Division: Valkyrie One Report: Black Site Alpha 3 compromised. I Repeat, Alpha 3 is compromised. Hostiles, identified as the Alliance, overrunning all security measures. All research data wiped from all stations and copies secured by Old Man and the Hell Hounds. They're en route to rally point [Redacted]. Valkyrie One and Saber Two making their last stand to buy time. [Redacted] personnel remain, but will be lost to cover Old Man's escape. May winds of glory guide their way. The old man a true veteran of the battlefield. Been everywhere. Done everything. Now he's running for his life, with the Kids and data his sister died for. He's fucking pissed. The alliance who messed with him is going to pay. He'd ensure it. But little did he know that he might just get wrapped up in a war greater than any other he has fought, because this time the Wilds is on the verge of collapse, not just The Imperial Warmongers. Will, he able to pull off this seemingly impossible task? Or will he fail? PS: I am new at writing and this is my first attempt at this. Any criticism or suggestions is appreciated. Hope you enjoy the story. I am really slow at writing so I apologize in advance for the time between chapters.

Since the day she was born, the Lady Eithne of Dolgallu has lived under a magical prohibition: she may not marry before the omens are deemed favorable. Now, after a harrowing journey to the most sacred place in the Five Kingdoms, the Drymyn Order, a mysterious sect of powerful priests and priestesses, have pronounced the omens favorable, and her wedding to King Eowain of Droma has been arranged. But Eithne has the right to accept—or reject—her suitor. She did not set this geas upon herself, didn't ask for the special attention of the Gods to her love-life. Yet the time for her decision has come. Eowain has proven himself loyal, brave, kind—all the things any woman might ask from a man. But there’s the way of it: this is the man, you must marry him. Is she not a free woman? Was she not guaranteed the right of choice? Eithne is frustrated by the expectation that she will simply acquiesce to her fate, that she must accept that the Gods wove some secret pattern for her life and she can do nothing to stop it. So how can she prove she has the freedom to choose if she doesn't choose, “No”? How can she know for herself that her will is truly her own if she consents?
