《Harley Quinn x Reader Oneshots》You Saved Me

It was late at night in Gotham. You'd had to stay behind late to catch up on some work and now you were alone at nighttime in the one of the most crime ridden cities in the world. There were lots of shadowy areas where criminals could be lurking and you were constantly looking over your shoulder as you walked home. You even thought you heard footsteps once or twice but you reassured yourself that you were just being paranoid. It was dark after all and everything always seems creepier in the dark. You cleared your throat just to make some noise to break the horrible silence.
It seemed like you'd been walking for ages but you were nowhere near your apartment. You had actually only be walking for 10 minutes though. There was a noise behind you; you were sure of it this time. Glancing over your shoulder, you saw nothing. You sighed. "Come on (Y/N), you're just being paranoid," you muttered to yourself."if you don't keep moving, you'll never get home." You started to move again when there was a noise again. You were sure of it this time. "Hello? Is anyone there?" you called out. No reply. Just the echo of your own voice.
Sighing and shaking your head, you walked on. You had covered one more street when you thought you heard a noise again. Closer this time. Suddenly, a hand was covering your mouth and you were pulled backwards and slammed into a wall. You were making terrified noises, muffled by the hand, until you felt a gun being pressed to your head. "Shut up!" a man, whose face was covered by a mask, ordered. You didn't make another sound so he slowly took his hand away. "Give me your money!" You were stood frozen for a few seconds until he pressed the gun harder into the side of your head. You quickly went in your purse and pulled out $20.

"Here! It's all I have!" You were telling the truth. You didn't take a lot of money with you to work as you walked to and from there most days and hadn't planned on doing anything else that night that you might need to take any extra money out with you for.
"You know what? I think you're lying!" he snapped.
"I'm not! I didn't see any point in taking any more out today!" you said.
"Bad luck for you. I'm not happy with this." He dropped the $20 to the floor and began repeatedly slamming you into the wall again. Your head was in pain and you felt it was starting to bleed.
"S-Stop!" you begged, before a punch hit you in the stomach and you doubled over, falling to the ground. You looked up nervously and saw he was about to strike you again. You squeezed your eyes shut but the punch never came. Instead you heard a and looked up to see a woman holding a gun. The man had been shot and his dead body now fell to the floor. You looked up at the woman again only to realise she was the infamous Harley Quinn. She gave you a soft smile but you shuffled back nervously. "You're Harley Quinn! You're a criminal too, I heard about you! Please don't hurt me!" She sighed and stepped closer.
"Well since me and Mistah J broke up, I've been tryin' ta give up crime. I'll never refuse ta help a woman bein' hit by a man. He didn't have no right ta do that ta ya." She extended a hand out to you. You were slightly scared of her but you held her hand and let her pull you up. She frowned as she looked at all your cuts and bruises. "Those don't look good sugar. Is ya house nearby?"

"I-It's a few blocks away..." Your legs felt shaky and Harley held you up.
"My apartment's just up here. Come on, ya can come back ta my place and I'll clean ya up!" Harley helped you as you walked to her apartment. She sat you down on the bed and began to clean up your cuts and bruises. You winced a lot and she noticed. "Sorry sugar. It's for the best," she promised. You nodded.
"Ok," you whispered. She finished and you smiled. "Thanks."
"No problem." She yawned. "Say...it's gettin' late. Ya wanna stay over? I can get ya some spare pyjamas." You bit your lip. Did you really want to stay with an infamous criminal? Even if she says she's changed? But she had been very kind to you and it was late.
"Sure," you found yourself saying.
"Great." She went to get you a change of clothes for the night while you waited on the bed and wondered why you even agreed to stay over. After a few minutes, she came back with some red and black pyjamas and you got changed into them while she got into her own clothes. Then she lay down on the bed and shuffled over, patting the part next to her. You blushed then. You expected her to give you a spare room or make up a bed on the floor instead but you lay down with her nonetheless. "Night sugar," she mumbled.
"Night Harley." You closed your eyes to go to sleep and felt her shifting closer to you. You were both falling asleep and found yourselves curling up against each other. And that's how you were mugged, saved and ended up sleeping with Harley Quinn in one night.
