Third Person POV
Lyon Stoneheart, or Leo for short, tugged on the black hood that was currently over his head covering most of his face. He wears sunglasses that cover his, "", eye color that most kids find disturbing to look at
He's been bullied all his life up till the age of 17, which is the age he's at right now. He's never had a friend that stayed with him, he's had no one to call family. His family hate him just as much as the world does, no one is ever on his side…
"Hey weirdo!" Leo stopped in his tracks & turned around to see his highschool bully, his name is Toby Brian, popular school jock every girl wants to fuck
"… what do you want this time…?" he said with a raspy voice, Toby placed a hand on his shoulder before back handing him, leaving quite the bruise
"Who said you could talk back to me, huh? No one, freak!" he started laughing at poor little Leo's face "What I want to know is when am I getting my money." Leo glared up at him through his glasses
"Maybe when you get a job…" he whispered "Even so… I'm broke myself, I have no money for you to take…" Toby gripped his shoulder & glared down at him
"What do you mean by that?" Leo smacked his hand off his shoulder & glared at the male
"It means go pick on someone else for money…" he threw his hood over his head again & quickly hurried away, he was surprised he made it home without getting a beating from Toby & his goons but was unlucky when he found out his mother was home
He quietly opened the door to the house & silently closed it behind him before racing upstairs & locking the door behind him, he collapsed onto his bed & cried into his pillow

… why is the world so cruel…?
why is the world so cruel to me…?
no one loves me…
…i'm a waste of life & breath
i deserve to die & suffer…
everyone is right, & I am always wrong…
"Lyon Drake Stoneheart!" he gasped as he sat up from his bed, it was the sound of his mother "Open this door right now!"
"… y–yes ma'am…!" he took a deep breath before unlocking the door, once he did his mother stormed in with the smell of alcohol & BO coming from her
"You little shit! What did I tell you about cleaning up after yourself, huh?!" he look at her confused & scared until he noticed his older brother at the doorway with a smirk
"I–I didn't t–though…--" he was cut off when she slapped him across the face, he felt tears appear as she glared down at him
"Don't talk back to me you little shit! Besides, its not like your brother would make a mess! He's a good child while your worthless, pathetic." Xavier, his older brother, smirked
"Oh look, little Leo is gonna cry like the crybaby he is!" he trembled in fear when he saw his mother take a step forward with a smirk
"You need to learn your place boy." he fell backwards when she grabbed his neck & began strangling him, he gasped & tried getting her to let go but he was far to weak at the moment
"P–Please stop…!"
"Begging now? Isn't that something!" he felt something snap inside him, he grits his teeth & kicked her off him "You little bastard!" he sprung up & ran to the doorway only to see Xavier blocking the way
"Your not goin--" he was cut off when Leo practically shoved him out of the way "Hey!" he sprinted down stairs & threw the front door open & ran out onto the streets, his hood down & glasses off as he stared in fear at his mother

"Get over here! You still need to learn your lesson you shithead!"
"I–I just… p–please have…--" as he took another step backwards he heard the hobk of a horn, he turned his head & saw an incoming truck "… this is it then…"
??? POV
a gruff yet feminine voice said
"I suppose so…" this time a tender & kind voice replied, the first voice let out a sigh & stared at the person in front of them
"Whatever do you mean Death?"
↓(Death)↓
↓(Life)↓
he chuckled
"Well, don't you kinda feel sad for him?"
"I mean… maybe we should give him a second chance."
"Now wait a sec Death, I have somewhat an idea." she rolled her eyes as he explained his plan to her, she groaned this time & rubbed her temples with one hand, the other one was tightly gripping the scythe in her hand
"Please~ just look at him!" they both look down as saw his mother & brother "crying" over him getting hit by the incoming trunk while driver was apologizing "If it should be anyone's funeral it should be theirs."
"The only place where there's freedom… One Piece." Death looked at him
"Well I'm sorry! Blame Cupid!" she rolled her eyes
(how was that for something different?)

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.

Directorate: Nationbuilding in Apocalypse
A nation is just a means of survival. Metro Manila fell within 5 months of the first report of cannibalism. Once a hyperurbanized region of 15 million inhabitants, it's been reduced to a dead, greenless shell. Most of the infected had since left to ravage the countryside. The central government was nowhere to be found. Among the survivors who clung to the few gardens and humble plots of arable land left, one of them finds evidence that the slaughter wasn't going to just end with the first wave. Without a nation and a wall of guns, everyone will die. Directorate is an original nationbuilding webnovel that focuses on the gradual rise to power of a select few individuals, and the subsequent unification of the survivors of a devastated Metro Manila. Releases targeted at every 1 to 3 weeks. If there are no chapter updates after 3 weeks, there will be a progress update. Number of releases targeted at a maximum of 100 chapters. Every 10-15 chapters, there will be a 1-month hiatus to let me plan for the next 10-15 chapters. Double releases have a not-insignificant-but-still-small chance of occurring.
