(just saying, this is 20 years ago. Meaning, Gol D. Roger is still alive, the One Piece hasn't been found, Ace isn't born & all that other shit)
Third Person POV
"Who can shot further? Izo or Curiel?" the Commander of the 4th Division murmured to murmured to the Commander of the 12th Division
"Well, Izo is a sharpshooter & he uses pistols. Unlike Curiel, he uses bazookas so I'm pretty damn sure Curiel can shoot further."
"Wanna bet?" he raised an eyebrow before smirking
"Your on." Thatch called the two over & told them their little wager, the two look at each other before smirking "I vote for Curiel while Thatch votes for you, Izo."
"What's the prize?"
"… the loser has to do all of the winners chores for an entire month!"
"Deal." Marco seemed to have heard their conversation so he looked over from where he was & saw them aiming at a boat
"That's a pretty far distance, first one to hit it, wins." Marco takes a closer look at the boat & noticed that there was something, or someone in it
He squints his eyes at it before grabbing a telescope & taking a closer look, there was indeed someone on that little boat & two of the Commanders were ready to shoot at it. Out of a fit of panic, he got up from where he was & sprinted over to them
"Ready, & fi--"
"Wait!!" they stopped aiming & looked at Marco with a confused look
"What's the matter, Marco?"
"Take a closer look at that boat-yoi." he said as he handed Thatch the telescope, he took it & once he looked at the boat he sweat dropped
"Oh…" Marco rolled his eyes & flew over to the boat, his eyes widened when he saw what was laying in it unconscious

"A… child?" Marco moved his (Leo's) bangs away from his closed eyes & stared at the kid "Why are you in the middle of the ocean kid?" he carefully picked the child up & flew back to the ship
"So what is it Marco?"
"Its a child." Izo & Curiel look at the boy in Marco's arms with widened eyes before glaring at Haruta & Thatch
"We could've killed him!" they yelled
"Well how were we suppose to know that he was on that boat?!"
"You could've checked!"
"This boy is lucky I have a keen eye or else he would've lost his life all because of a stupid bet-yoi." before anything else could happen, the captain of the crew had appeared
"What is this fuss about, my sons?"
"Thatch & Haruta almost made Izo & Curiel kill this child." the 52 year old man looked at the two Commanders & shook his head
"I expected more from you two."
"Yes pops."
"Marco, take him to the infirmary & see what's wrong with the boy." he nodded
"Yes pops."
(With Life & Death)
"See, told you this was a good idea." Death nodded her head slowly in a sarcastic manner
"Almost." she groaned
"Yeah, I know."
Lyon POV
I groan & slowly crack my eyes open, all I remember was getting hit by that truck… but there was no way I could've survived that hit. I look at the ceiling & it didn't look familiar, I slowly sat up & I was in a unfamiliar looking room
I noticed there was a mirror across from me & when I looked in it… my eyes widened. I–I was a kid again! I wasn't 17 anymore, I was 7 again!

Why the hell was my age pushed back by 10 years?! I start freaking out until I heard the knob to the door jiggle, I-I didn't know what to do, I was panicking. A man that was unbelievably tall walked in, he wore a black bandanna & had long, light blonde hair & had a weird looking moustache. Even if my eyes were closed, I just stole a quick glimpse of him when he walked in
"It seems your awake, boy." I didn't answer, he sounded to intimidating "Can you talk?" I look away & shrug my shoulders, I heard him chuckle & grab something before handing it to me, it lift like a pen & paper "Here's a yes or no question you won't have to use that for, do you choose not to speak?" I nodded my head slowly "Why is that?"
'Why should I tell you? I don't even know you?'
"That is true. My name is Edward Newgate, Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates." I was confused
'Pirate?'
"Why yes. Your on our ship the Moby Dick."
'You mean that giant whale?' I felt him nod his head & grin
"Indeed. Now, do you mind me asking your name?" I was a little hesitant "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, you are just a child."
'… thank you, sir.'
"Sir?! You can call me pops if you want!" & he started laughing out loud, I freaked out so I gasped a little while shaking "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
'No sir, I'm just jumpy.'
"Are you always so formal?" I shrug my shoulders again
'I was always told to either call someone ma'am or sir, to be more polite.'
"Well there's no need! Like I said before, you can call me pops, you can even call me old man! I could careless!" he laughed again but stopped himself "Oops! Sorry…" I shook my head
'N–No, its fine si-- I mean, pops.' I felt him smile this time '& um… my name is Lyon, Lyon Drake Stoneheart.'
"Is it okay if I call you Leo?" I felt like my heart stopped beating, no one has ever called me Leo before except for… I felt myself start crying as I drop the notebook & sobbed into my hand "Oh, oh no! I didn't mean to make you cry. I won't call you Leo if it makes you feel better." I shook my head & grabbed the notebook again
'No it's not that… its just that, I've never been given that nickname in a long time.' I tensed up when I felt his hand on my head
"Anytime my boy." I started tearing up again
(With Life & Death… again)
Death looked at the two with a weird look & turn her head away, only to be face to face with Life. She jumped back a bit before glaring at her polar opposite
"Come on~ we did the right think."
"Oh come on! Don't you feel at least something after doing this?!" she gave him a look
"Don't worry Death, I won't let that happen."
he looked back down at the two & snapped his fingers
"You'll see."

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
