**FAST FORWARD FEW DAYS**
chapter 3;
Arizona POV:
The last thing I remember is falling asleep in Callie's arms. I wake up to the sun shining bright in my room. I look up and see Callie still sleeping with her arms around my waist hugging me tight.
"Calliope?" I whisper. She starts to wake up, and open her eyes. She looks at me and smiles.
"Good Morning! Good news Arizona, you get to go home today." She says to me.
Today is the day I need to tell her how I feel about her. It needs to be today and it needs to be soon. I wait for her to be fully awake, and then I look at her
"Calliope?" I ask in a nervous tone
"Yes Arizona?" She answers in a soothing tone
"Can we talk?" I ask getting even more nervous.
She looks at me and just nods her head almost like she knows what coming.
"Calliope, look, we met like what? 3 days ago? Not even probably. You've eased my fear of hospitals. Just something about you makes me feel so safe and loved and protected, and anyways I feel like I'm just rambling on and on so I'm going to get to my point. Calliope, I really like you. Since I first laid my eyes on your beautiful body sleeping in that chair over there. You've captured my heart. You've made me feel safe, and protected, and loved, and cared for, and-" I'm cut off by lips crashing into mine.
Callie POV:
Arizona asked if we could talk, and not going to lie I was nervous as hell but I nodded and just listened to her. As she began to talk I realized she wasn't saying anything bad. She was spilling her feelings out to me. She was telling me how she felt about me, and I've never been so happy in my life. Just a few days ago, I was an ordinary orthopedic surgeon, when this woman came in from a car accident and literally changed my life. I was so happy and overwhelmed with love and happiness that the next thing I know my lips crash into hers. I was nervous thinking she would freak out and pull away and tell me to get out, but she did the complete opposite. She kissed me back. We just sat there for a few minutes kissing each other, exploring each others mouths until we pulled away and I looked her in the eyes and said "I like you too. You make me feel loved, and wanted. You make my life have a purpose. Just the other day you came in with injuries and now today, you've completely changed my life. I've liked you since I first laid my eyes on you." I can see tears forming in her eyes and I'm starting to get nervous again.

Before she can say a word I cut her off
"I'm going to get your discharge papers, and then i'm taking you out for lunch." I smiled as I got out of the bed. She smiled and watched me as I walked out the door to get the papers.
I came back a few minutes later with the papers and a pen in hand. I walk over to her give her the papers and pen and have her sign. I help her get her stuff ready. Today is my day off anyway so Arizona and I are going to go out and just have fun.
Arizona POV:
I get all my stuff together, Callie helps me, and we are on our way. I clearly don't have a car so Callie leads me to her car. I follow her to her car, and set my stuff inside and we are off to lunch, and who knows what else. We get to this super fancy restaurant, and I'm so confused. I put my hand on her hand so she will look at me, and when she does I ask
"what are we doing here?"
"taking you out for lunch" is her simple reply. She sounded annoyed and confused at the same time.
"but Calliope this is the fanciest restaurant in town" I say with a little more force
She looks at me and gives me this super magic smile
"I know" she replies softly as she's still smiling "I wanted to take you on a date"
I flash a smile back at her as I get out of the car. She follows me and gets out of the car.
I take her hand and we walk towards the restaurant
Callie POV:
I'm taking Arizona to the fanciest restaurant in town, and she asked me why so I had to tell her the truth. It was a date. I had this plan all along to ask her to be my girlfriend as we were eating but I have a feeling she might catch on to that. She takes my hand as we walk into the restaurant. She smiles at me as we walk into the door and I think to myself we just met each other 5 days ago and I'm already falling in love with this women.

We walked into the restaurant and started looking at the menu and a few minutes later I looked up to find Arizona's beautiful blue eyes starring at me.
"what" I said letting out a chuckle
"you saved my life Calliope, if it wasn't for you and the rest of those people in that hospital, I wouldn't be alive" The mood turned from happy, bubbly energy to a serious tone.
I grabbed her hand from across the table and looked at her
"I think you saved yourself darling, you had to fight to stay alive, all I did was make sure you never gave up fighting"
Arizona POV:
Calliope just called me darling, as well as saying the sweetest thing I think I've ever heard from anyone.
I can feel tears forming in my eyes and I fight as hard as I can to keep them back but my eyes have different plans and before I know it tears are falling down my face.
Callie's hand reaches up to wipe it away but before she can I grab her hand
"I had a reason to fight"
She looks at me with confusion filling her eyes
"Calliope, I fought for you. Something or rather someone kept telling me to keep fighting and hanging in there because when I woke up there would be someone waiting for me, so I kept fighting in hopes that if I woke up that voice would be right, and when I woke up I looked around to find you, this breathtakingly stunning woman sleeping in a chair, waiting for me to wake up." I pause and wipe the tears that are now streaming down my face
"I never thought I was worth waiting for or fighting for. you know? I've never felt like I had a purpose, I've never felt loved or cared for. I always thought I was just someone that people would throw away just like trash. I figured they'd get to know me, and not want me. But then I saw you sitting in that chair and saw someone waiting for me, someone was actually waiting for me to wake up. Calliope, no one has ever done that. We had never met before but you stayed in that room with me to make sure I never gave up, I never stopped fighting. I saw you in that chair and for once in my life I felt cared for, and wanted, and loved. I felt like someone actually needed me, and now Calliope look where we are. We are on a date in the fanciest restaurant in Seattle. We aren't even a couple, yet I feel like i've known you my whole life, and quite honestly I hope I do know you my whole life." I pause again preparing myself for what I'm about to say next. I continue "I want to someday get married to you, and I want to have kids with you, that is if you want to also, I want to grow old with you. I want to be able to call you my wife. I want to be able to go on millions of dates and fun adventures. Calliope I want so much for us. I want to know if-" I get cut off by Callie's lips colliding with mine. A passionate kiss.
Callie POV:
I know exactly what she's about to ask but before she can even ask it I collide my lips into her's and give her a passionate kiss. A kiss that sends chills down my spine. I look at her with tears begging to fall out of my eyes.
"yes" is what I manage to say
She pouts and says
"you didn't let me finish"
"I'm sorry sweetheart, I just couldn't wait." I say with a smile spreading across my face

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
