"Come on Beale let's go!" Beca called back to her friend as they walked through the woods.
"Tell me again Becs why were walking through the woods?" Chloe asked catching up to the brunette.
Chloe and Beca has been best friends since they were babies. Chloe's parents would watch her and her brother, Jesse, while their parents were busy or away. Even once they grew up Beca would still sneak out to Chloe's house, which is a few houses down at night just because she missed the redhead. She would always climb the tree beside her window even though she had a key to the house. They both just thought it was more special that way.
"I have something cool I want to show you" she said taking Chloe's hand and leading her through the woods until they came across a tree house.
Beca turned and smiled at Chloe who was surprised at what was in front of her.
"When did you find this?" Chloe asked.
"I didn't find it, Jesse and I built it with a little help from our Uncle. You use to always talk about how you wanted a treehouse to hang out in since you were a little girl. I thought since your birthday was coming up, I'd be a great surprise." Beca said smiling at the redhead.
Chloe just pulled Beca into a tight embrace, snuggling her head into the brunettes neck.
"Thank you Becs" she mumbled against the shorter girls neck before pulling away.
"Anything for you, now come on I want to show you inside" Beca said leading them over to the ladder that was built onto the tree.
"Not that I don't trust you, but you said you and Jesse built this. Are you sure it's safe?" Chloe asked and Beca chuckled.
"Yeah, that's were our uncle came in. We built it, he made sure everything was safe and sturdy. He actually only had to adjust one part so I'm pretty proud" she said climbing the ladder.
They got to the top and looked around, it looked small from the outside but had a decent amount of room inside. It had little pictures around the walls of Beca, Chloe, Jesse and the rest of their friend group, some just Beca and Chloe, others the whole group.
Beca and Jesse managed to get two beanbag chairs up there along with some other stuff. They were leaning out on the little balcony when Beca spoke.
"When building this I hoped that it could be our place. Whenever we're stressed, angry, upset or just want to be alone together, we can come here and get away" she said looking out into the forest.
Chloe turned and smiled at her,"I'd like that" she said and Beca smiled.
Beca took her hand and lead her back into the treehouse, stopping at one picture.
"Jesse did this as a joke with Amy but I actually kinda like it" Beca said as she lifted the picture to show an engrave-meant in the tree,
Beca and Chloe, with a heart around it. Chloe lifted her hand and traced the carving before turning to Beca with watery eyes.

"Woah you okay? We can get ride of it if you don't like it" Beca said slightly panicked but relaxed once she heard Chloe's soft giggle.
"I love it" she said lifting her hand to the carving.
They both stayed their for another hour before Chloe suggested exploring the area around it a little more. The house wasn't to deep in the woods, just enough so you can't see the houses anymore. They both left the treehouse and started walking deeper into the woods.
They were walking and laughing, talking about random things until they heard a growl. Beca instinctively pulled Chloe behind her as she looked for the source of the sound. As she looked, her eyes landed on a wolf in the tree line. Beca froze, not knowing what to do in that moment. She then bent down and picked up a large stick before speaking.
"Chloe run, now" Beca said, her eyes never leaving the wolf.
"What?! No I'm not leaving you!" Chloe protested.
"I'll be right behind you, go!" She yelled.
Chloe looked between Beca and the way home a few times before finally listening to the small brunette and running. Just as Beca thought, the wolf took off after Chloe only to have the brunette shove the stick into its open mouth giving them time to run. Chloe was faster than Beca, causing her to lose the brunette in the run home. She stood at the entry of the forest waiting for her.
Beca was running as fast as she could. She could faintly hear the wolfs footsteps behind her as she reached the end of the woods. Just when she thought they were safe, Beca felt a sharp pain in her arm causing her to fall to the ground in pain. She heard Chloe's screams for her as she looked face to face with the wolf.
Beca quickly grabbed another stick from nearby and shoved it into the beasts eye, causing it to lose grip on her. Beca got up and ran, grabbing Chloe's hand as she passed leading them both back to the redheads house.
Once they were there and safe, they made their way up to the redheads room, Chloe stopping for the first aid kit.
"I can't believe I just cheated death" Beca said amazed as she sat on Chloe bed.
"I can't believe I just almost lost my best friend, now take your hoodie off so I can see the wound" Chloe commanded and Beca listened.
"My favorite hoodie" Beca whined as she looked at the large hole and blood stains on in.
"Isn't that my hoodie?" Chloe giggled.
"Maybe" Beca mumbled.
Chloe just smiled as she sat beside the brunette examining her arm. She cleaned and dressed it before looking back at Beca.
"You can have a different one of my hoodies to replace that one if you want" she said teasingly.
"Eh I've got plenty of other ones in my closet you've left" Beca said smirking before her face turned serious, "I don't want you going into the woods alone, especially not that deep please" she said looking deep into the redheads eyes.

"I won't. Not without you at least. Now I just had the biggest scare of my life thinking I was going to lose my best friend so if you don't mind I'd like if we could watch movies and cuddle for the rest of the day" She said and Beca gave her a smile before getting comfortable on the bed and opening her arms.
Chloe smiled before jumping into her best friends open arms and snuggling close to her chest. She let out a sigh of happiness before hearing Beca chuckle.
"What happened to watching movies Beale?" She asked and Chloe looked up slightly.
"I'm tired from all that panicking, I need a nap" she said and Beca let out a full laugh.
"Okay Red we can nap" she said holding Chloe closer.
Chloe's heart fluttered at the nickname Beca calls her sometimes. She loves it when Beca calls her Red because she's the only one who calls her that. All her friends call her Chlo or in Fat Amy's case, ginger, some of them even call her Beale but never Red. That was only Beca's name for her.
They spent the rest of their day napping, watching movies and cuddling. Chloe even convinced Beca to stay the night after arguing that she didn't need to go home because her school stuff was already at her house. Once Beca finally gave in and agreed they both changed and showered before cuddling in bed and falling into a peaceful sleep.
The next morning they both woke up to Chloe's alarm. The brunette groaned before snuggling her face into Chloe neck while the redhead just giggled at her antics. After much begging they both got up and ready for school before heading down for breakfast that Mrs. Beale cooked.
"Good morning girls, Beca, how did your surprise go?" Mrs. Beale asked smiling.
"It went well, Chloe loved the tree house" Beca informed as the older woman placed a plate of food in front of her.
They both ate and cleaned their dishes. Beca thanked Mrs. Beale for the food before heading upstairs with Chloe to get their bags and for Chloe to redress Beca's wound. They both yelled bye to Chloe's mother after heading back downstairs and out to the driveway to Chloe car. Once they were out on the road Beca's phone started ringing.
"Hey Dad" She said catching Chloe's attention.
"Beca! Where the hell were you last night!" He yelled causing Beca to flinch at the volume.
"I was at Chloe's remember. I went to her house after school for her surprise and texted you and mom later that night about staying and you both said okay" Beca explained sighing.
"I don't remember agreeing to such a thing!" He yelled and Beca could tell he was drunk.
"Did you get drunk last night?" She asked as Chloe glanced at her.
"It was a stressful day at work" he tried to defend.
"Dad you know mom hates it when you drink. It's why you guys keep fighting" Beca said sadly, Chloe reached across the dash and took Beca's free hand.
"No we fight because you insist on having that disappointment as a friend" he scoffed.
"Don't talk about Chloe like that. Why are you so against her all the sudden?" Beca asked defensively.
"Because she's into girls and girls shouldn't date girls." He said and Beca scoffed.
Two years ago Chloe came out to Beca as bisexual. It was super tough on her and Beca could see that. She helped the redhead come out to both their families. Chloe's parents accepted her and were proud of her, so was Beca's mom. It was only Beca's dad who had and issue with it but sucked it up for his daughter. She's still yet to come out to their friends because of his reaction.
"So? That doesn't change who she is. She's the same girl I grew up with. She's the same girl you took to the park and would throw in the air and laugh when we were five. She's the same girl you once said I love you too. You always taught me to accept people for who they are, why is it so hard for you to listen to that?" Beca asked.
"I've tried Beca but you know how I grew up. It's hard for me to see it the same way you do" he said.
"Yeah I know dad, we're at school. I'll talk to you when I get home" she said before hanging up and sighing.
"Was he drunk again?" Chloe asked carefully and the brunette nodded.
"He's driving my mother away. They started fighting after you told them you were bi and now with his drinking, I don't think they'll last much longer." Beca said defeated.
"I'm sorry Becs" Chloe said sadly.
"Don't be, it's not your fault it's his." She said before getting out of the car, Chloe following.
They both headed over to their friends in silence.
"Becaw!" They heard Jesse yell.
"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that" she said playfully pushing him.
"It will last forever. How did the surprise go?" He asked.
"It went great, she loved it." Beca said smiling.
"Yeah until Beca got bits by a-" Chloe started but was cut off my Beca.
"A bunch of bugs. Yeah have bites all over my legs" she said shooting Chloe a look.
"Okay?" Jesse said before turning to the others.
Beca pulled Chloe aside and whispered to her, "I don't want them to know about the bite" she whispered before returning to the group.
They headed inside and talked before hearing the warming bell. It seemed abnormally loud to Beca causing her to cover her ears but nobody noticed.
"Well, who's ready for the second day of hell?"

The Yes-Mage
Plenty of people have stopped and asked what it'd be like to simply have everything, and Sylvain Henry Camille Johansson was no different. He was a man who had a lot of things going on, with a name that'd make a supervillain blush and a family who'd make even the useless of their rank into someone important.
