《Madara x Oc》Chapter 15

Naria's Pov:
I woke up to a tugging on my wrist and a weak whimper that made my eyes snap open immediately. I had moved in my sleep and I was now facing the door while Madara laid behind me, his arm wrapped around my waist. Masura was standing in front of me with one palm pressed to his eye while the other was clutching my wrist.
"Mom my eyes hurt" he said in a pained voice and I shifted from under Madara's arm and picked Masura up under the arms, pulling him to my lap. He sat with his legs on either side of my thighs and I replaced his hand with my own
"It's okay baby" I hummed soothingly as I checked his eyes
"Nothings wrong with them, do you want me to ask your dad?" I asked and he glanced at Madara's sleeping form and nodded his head a little shyly. I moved my hand to Madara's shoulder and shook him slightly
"Naria?" He mumbled but his eyes were still shut
"Madara wake up" I said as I shook him again and his eyes opened immediately.
"What is it?" He asked as he looked around blearily and when he saw Masura huddled against his chest he sat up.
"His eyes are hurting him, is that normal?" I asked and he scratched his head sleepily
"Uh, not as his age" He said and I frowned
"You should acquire your sharingan around the age of ten but until then there is nothing that should cause pain" he said and I raised my eyebrows in surprise
"I have my Sharingan" Masura mumbled and I saw Madara's eyes widened slightly
"Do you really?" He asked as he moved to sit cross legged facing us. Masura nodded his head leaning his head more against my chest shyly
"Can you show me?" Madara asked and Masura nodded again, closing his onyx eyes and opening them showing bright red Sharingan, one tomoe in each eye
"Incredible" Madara mumbled
"The youngest anyone ever acquired their Sharingan was eight" He said and I frowned
"Is he okay?" I asked and Madara closed his own eyes, opening them showing his own Sharingan.
"It is normal to feel a bit of pain when you first awaken them.. I only felt it for a few days but it depends on the person.. You need to use them to make the pain go away though" He said and I nodded
"We can go out and train tomorrow morning.. Does it hurt too bad to go to sleep?" I asked and he shook his head
"Let's get you back to bed and Madara can help you with your Sharingan when you wake up" I said and he smiled and buried his face in my neck. I swung my legs over the bed and let Masura crawl down before me so I could stand up. He grabbed my hand and led me to the door but he stopped and moved a bit behind my leg and looked back at Madara
"Night dad" he said in a quiet voice, clutching the side of my sweats. I looked up at Madara and saw his mouth open slightly in surprise then a smile spread across his lips
"Goodnight son" He said back and I heard Masura let out a little giggle before walking downstairs. I smiled at Madara as he laid back in bed with a smile on his face and laughed quietly as Masura led me downstairs
"Your room is upstairs, did you want to sleep next to Ami?" I asked curiously and he shook his head and crawled up on the couch

"Can you explain everything to me.. I am still confused" He said and I nodded as I walked over and sat next to him
"What do you want to know?" I asked as I ran my fingers through his hair
"Why did dad leave?" he asked
"His little brother died and he left because he was grieving" I said and he nodded
"Why did he stay away so long?" He asked
"Because he didn't know what he was missing here" I said with a smile and he grinned up at me
"Why is Ami so mad?" he asked and I frowned slightly
"Madara was like a best friend to her for the few years we were together and when he left he didn't tell anyone where he was going or why and it really hurt Ami's feelings.. But I also hid the truth from her and told her Madara was on a mission instead of saying he left the village" I said and he puffed out one of his cheeks thoughtfully
"Why did you do that?" He asked
"Because I hate seeing either of you sad and I didn't want to upset her" I said and he nodded again, his hair bouncing slightly
"Is he going to stay with us?" he asked and I nodded
"He is your father of course he will" I said and a smile spread across his pale cheeks
"Does he like me?" He asked and I smiled as I pulled him into my lap
"Of course he does baby, he loves you" I said and I giggled quietly at the grin adorning his cute face
"Is he Ami's dad too?" He asked and I shook my head
"No Ami's dad passed away a long time ago" I said and he nodded
"Can we sleep down here?" he asked and I chuckled as I laid back on the couch with him on top of me
"Of course we can baby" I said as I ran my hand through his thick spiky hair.
Madara's Pov:
I woke up when light flooded through the window and I opened my eyes expecting to see Naria but she was gone I frowned. I grabbed the picture from the nightstand instinctively and slipped it in my pocket along with the locket that was sitting next to it. I silently moved down the stairs and a smile spread on my lips seeing Naria on her back with Masura's small form slumped over the top of her on the couch. I walked over and gave them both a kiss on the head before walking to the door that had not been here when I last stayed in this house. When I opened the door there was another bedroom and Ami was sprawled across her bed, one leg hanging off the side along with half of her blankets. One arm was slung over her forehead at an awkward angle and her mouth was wide open, some of her long hair sticking to her bottom lip as she breathed deeply.
"You sleep the same as ever" I said to myself as I sat on the bed next to her side and reached out a hand to shake her shoulder. I was mildly surprised when her hand reached out and snatched my wrist before I could touch her
"You may be welcomed back into the house but you are not welcome in here" She mumbled sleepily and I frowned as I retracted my hand
"I just want to talk to you" I said and she opened her eyes bleerily

"You're a few years late" She mumbled as she reached to her nightstand to grab her glasses
"Please Ami" I said and she scowled as she sat up against her headboard and brought her legs under her
"Fine" She said finally and I smiled as I looked at the young woman that was so small last time I saw her
"You really grew up" I muttered absently and I nearly winced at the annoyed sound that came from her throat
"Six years does a lot" She muttered bitterly and I sighed as I reached into my pocket and palmed the picture
"When I left I intended to leave you and your mother with nothing but a torn picture that I hoped would pass the message to you that I was leaving and not coming back" I said and she clenched her jaw
"This is a terrible way to apologize.. You are just describing what you did" She muttered and I sighed
"No.. I wanted to leave the whole picture but when I ripped it I couldn't put down the picture of you and your mother..." I said as I pulled the photo out and showed it to her
"This has been on my person every moment since I left.. I tried to leave you two with nothing left of me to miss but I never expected I would miss you as much as I did" I said and she rolled her eyes
"Ami.. you understand a bit of what it was like to grow up in a war" I said trying to explain how meaningful it was that I kept the picture
"Yeah so what?" she said and I clenched my fists a few times trying to think clearly
"We were trained battle and no matter what we were to keep our emotions out of everything" I said and she sighed
"Have you forgotten who taught me everything I know?" She said and I thought about Naria and sighed realizing she was never taught to suppress her emotions. I moved so I was sitting on my knees on her bed and I looked into her dark eyes that were exactly like Narias
"Ami, I was taught through my whole life that emotions were just a nuisance and the only affection I was aloud to have was with my little brother.. Throughout my childhood the only personal items I had was the sword my father gave me when I was shoved into battle.. We kept nothing sentimental. You and your mother broke the number one shinobi rule that was drilled into my head as a child, I kept this with me no matter what and no matter how hard I tried to forget about you two I could never get rid of this picture" I said shaking the picture slightly but she said nothing
"Ami I am so sorry for leaving you and if there was a jutsu that could take me back in time I would do it in an instant... I have never cared about what people thought about me but if you hate me then I.. I don't know what I will do" I said weakly, her dark eyes boring into mine
"You were a father and a best friend to me when I was little and you vanished.. It would have been easier if you had died because then at least you didn't make the conscious decision to leave. Do you know how much that broke mom.. She thinks she is good at hiding her emotions but she went to shit after you left and I had to watch as the person most important to me broke" She said a little shakily and I felt my palms get sweaty but stayed silent as she gathered her thoughts
"She is a strong woman and an incredible mother during the day but at night I could hear her crying through the door and I had to see her when she didn't sleep for days at a time.. For the second time in her life she had to give birth with no father around and she blamed herself for years after you left.. She thought she was the reason you left and she blames herself for not being able to save Izuna" She muttered and I felt my heart clench at her words
"I won't leave again and I will do anything to make up for everything I did" I said
"I love Masura and for him I will accept you back into this house without anymore argument.. But if you do anything to him or my mom I will not hesitate to do something about it" She said and I smiled slightly
"You have nothing to worry about" I said and she nodded stiffly
"I really did miss you Ami, more than you probably think" I said and I saw her lip quiver slightly as she looked at the wall over my shoulder. I scooted forward on the bed and wrapped my arms around her smaller form. I felt her tense slightly and I pulled her a bit closer to me
"I love you" I mumbled quietly and felt her body go limp in my arms as she let out a little choked sound and wrapped har arms around me tightly. I moved one hand to the back of her head and ran my thumb through her hair slowly as she cried into my torso.
"I missed you so much" She muffled out and I leaned my cheek to the top of her head. Once she had calmed down she pulled away from me and wiped her eyes under her glasses and looked at me with a weak smile. I reached in my pocket and grabbed the chain, pulling out the little kunai necklace
"It was a present for you, I don't wanna take yours" She said weakly and I smiled, reaching my other hand up to the neck of my shirt and tugging the chain to pull out my own
"This is yours.. I never took mine off" I said quietly and I bright smile spread across her face as she leaned forward and let me hang the necklace over her head.
"This way I am always close to your heart" I said lightly and she sniffled and let out a little laugh
"Want to help me make breakfast?" I asked and she smiled and took my hand to climb off the bed. We walked out to the main room and she let out a little laugh looking at the duo still asleep on the couch.
Naria's Pov:
I woke up to a familiar laugh that instinctively made me smile, I opened my eyes and looked around blearily, realizing I wasn't in my room. I raised my hand to the back of Masura's head and gently ran my fingers through his hair as I turned my head to the source of the laughing. A wide smile spread across my face when I saw Ami and Madara together in the kitchen making breakfast. I felt Masura tighten his grip around my waist and I leaned down to press a kiss to the top of his head as he woke up
"Morning baby, how'd you sleep?" I asked as I pulled a few knots from his thick black hair
"Morning mom.. Good you?" He mumbled as he leaned his head up to give me a kiss on the cheek
"I always sleep good when you are with me" I hummed and he smiled down at me as he picked himself up off of me
"Morning" Ami said as she walked over and scooped Masura up, planting kisses all over his face. I leaned up and stretched my arms above my head and watched as Madara made his way from the kitchen, wiping his hands off on a rag as he walked.
"How are your eyes Masura?" He asked and I saw Masura shrink a little closer to Ami, hiding his smile behind her shoulder as he looked at Madara
"They don't hurt too bad right now.. They just kinda ache" He said and I giggled slightly as I stood up and patted the back of his head
"We will go train after breakfast and get you all fixed up" I said and he smiled and looked back at me
"I can't join you guys, I have a mission" Ami said and I pouted slightly
"I know, Hashirama said I didn't have to but I really want the money.. I still gotta get Masura's birthday present" She said as she set him back down
"How long are you gone for?" I asked as I tugged a few knots from my hair
"Just two days, one night probably.. We are just going to the border of the land of fire to see if there are any disturbances then coming straight back" She said and I nodded
"Who are you going with?" Madara asked curiously as he wandered closer to the kitchen to check whatever they were cooking
"Uh Kagami, and Torifu Akimichi" She said and I smiled
"Oh and I am sure that's a coincidence" I said with a little laugh as I walked past her and towards the kitchen
"He likes coming with me to make sure I am safe" She muttered, a blush furiously spreading across her cheeks
"Kagami?" Madara asked and I heard Masura giggle
"Yeah they are so in loveeeee" He said mockingly and I laughed as he darted behind my legs to get away from Ami who glared down at him around me
"He's right" I said with a wide smile as I picked Masura up and brought him into the kitchen with me, setting him on the counter
"I remember you having a crush but when did you two get together?" Madara asked curiously and I smiled
"She was too shy to talk to him for the longest time.. Which was weird because she is never shy.. Anyways about three years ago he asked her to lunch and it just snowballed from there" I said as I picked up the spatula to flip the eggs. It was snatched quickly out of my hand and I raised an eyebrow to Madara
"The whole point of this was for you not to have to cook, you always cook" He said as he turned the eggs
"Oh, sorry I guess its habit by now" I said lightly as I leaned my head on his shoulder. I watched him for a moment then my eyes wandered up to Masura who was still sitting on the counter and looking at us with both of his hands held up to his cheeks, his sleeves pulled past his palms
"What?" I asked and his eyes crinkled as he smiled under his hands
"you look so happy" He hummed and I smiled as he hopped off the counter and walked towards where Ami was sitting at the table. I smiled and wrapped my arms around Madara's waist and felt him shift his arm to accommodate me and wrap around my shoulder
"I love you" he hummed and I squeezed him a little tighter and buried my face in his chest
"I love you too" I muffled against his shirt and I felt him press a warm kiss to the top of my head.
After breakfast we all said bye to Ami and the three of us headed towards the training grounds. When we got there I made to take a seat at the side but Masura fisted his hands in my sweats keeping me in place
"Why are you acting so shy?" I asked as I looked down at him. He got a little blush and beckoned me down to his level. I kneeled in front of him and he leaned his head in my ear and let out a little shaky breath
"That's my dad" he said quietly and I broke into a fit of laughter and wrapped my arms around him
"You are so cute" I said, pressing a kiss to his cheek
"Are you nervous?" I asked and he nodded his head
"Madara is going to go easy on you and I will be right there" I said pointing to the side a few yards away. He puffed out one cheek but nodded and I smiled and stood up to walk over.
"You okay Masura?" Madara asked, a bit of worry coating his tone as he looked at Masura's red face
"He's fine, he is a lot like how I was as a kid and he is just shy.. He will get over it" I said and Masura sent me a little glare
"Show him your cool special jutsu" I said and his eyes widened slightly
"I don't wanna hurt anyone though" He mumbled and I saw a small smile twitch at Madara's lips
"I can take it don't worry, but whatever you do make sure your Sharingan is activated" He said and Masura nodded tentatively. He closed his eyes and when he opened them they were bright red, he tugged up his sleeves slightly and I watched as the skin of his forearm shifted as though something was under it. Vines appeared from the inside of his wrists and grew until they were both about five feet long and covered in poison thorns. Madara's eyes widened marginally as he whipped them in a circle a few times, creating deep gashes in the earth.
"Good luck Madara" I called with a little smile as Masura looked at him with incredible focus as he ran forward. I watched in amusement as Madara had to quickly dodge away from Masura's attacks as he darted around with impressive speed. I was certain Madara could stop him at any moment with most of the jutsu he normally used but he was too afraid to use in case they hurt Masura. Instead he just expertly dodged his attacks and not even a bit of the vine touched his skin.
"Masura do that thing I taught you the other day" I called and I saw his eyes flash to me for a moment before he stomped one foot to the ground and jumped up as the earth under Madara shifted, shooting him into the air so Masura could graze him with his whip. I clasped my hands together happily when I saw a very small bead of blood on Madara's cheek and I saw a small smirk make it's way on Masura's face as he retracted his vines. Madara straightened up and gave Masura a confused look but I just smiled and pushed to my feet.
"Why are you stopping?" Madara asked and I giggled
"Because if you were a weaker shinobi you would already be dead" I said as I walked up to him and pressed my palm to his cheek that was starting to turn blue.
"They are poisoned?" He asked, surprised coating his voice as I carefully extracted the poison from his system
"Mmhmm" Masura hummed
"Unlike me and Ami, he doesn't need pre existing plants to manipulate, he can create them out of nothing like Hashirama's wood style... but a bit different, it's mostly vines and grass and trees" I explained as I turned to Masura

Hey! Beneath the Dragoneye Moons is my first writing effort, so please be kind, but don’t hesitate to point out the flaws. The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but it gets there! I’m going to be posting M-W-F I do know how the story ends, and I promise if it ever gets dropped, or I stop doing this, I will post the ending. There will be no random “this is the last chapter” out of the blue. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Author's note: I love the idea of kingdom-building novels and think the genre has a lot to offer, but I don't think many authors do them very well. Here is my attempt. The novel has a strong focus on politics and kingdom building, with occasional action and a bit of humor. Have fun. Cover was made by MrZombie Updates three times a week.
