《When Fireflies Diminish | Poetry》1 | When Fireflies Diminish

I had a dream once upon a time,

That I held a dozen of fireflies in my palms.

And the little insects spread their wings to fly,

High, high they roamed away in the night.

Soon, their light diminished one by one,

And I never saw the luminescence dots

that once filled me with warmth.

And I pondered once I woke up,

Aren't we all just twinkling fireflies?

Tiny creatures in this big world

Filled with dreams, hopes and more,

Yet, we all will diminish at some point,

But should we let the inevitable end

Scare us from exploring the world?

Or will we be brave just like them,

Take on flight even if darkness is there,

Shine and shine one by one,

Radiate the beauty that we have inside?

What to choose, oh I don't know,

This was just a momentarly thought,

From a dream that has long gone.
