"Daddy." Gracie whined dropping her fork.
Seth know that whine and quickly moved her from the room to the skin in the kitchen where she threw up.
"What's wrong?" Becky asked.
"Dizzy." Gracie panted.
"I'll grab her meds." Becky sakd running up to her room and grabbing her go bag.
"What's going on?" Annette asked.
"She's dizzy." Becky said.
She got the tablet to Gracie and she sat on Seth who rubbed her back. After a bit she fell asleep and he just held her.
"Dr. Green is coming to look at her." Josh said. "He was in town visiting his family after the tour."
Becky nodded and looked at her daughter.
"She was fine before we ate." Becky said.
"The last ear infection was just as sudden." Seth said.
"I hate that she's sick." Becky said.
"Me too." Seth said. "But we had the meds so she didn't have to be sick and we can do the antibiotics again."
Becky nodded and kissed the hand she held.
"I hear I am needed." Dr. Green said coming in with Rich.
"Yes." Seth said.
"Same as last time?" Dr. Green asked putting his bag down.
"Yes." Becky said. "I gave her an anti-nauseous pill right away."
"Good." He said pulling out what he would need and examining her. "Looks like another ear infection."
"Why does it make her do dizzy?" Becky asked.
"The pressure throws off her equilibrium and for some the dizziness makes them nauseous." Dr. Green said. "I have a dose with me she can take when she wakes and then you can fill this script tomorrow."
"We're due to fly back to the states in four days will she be good to go then?" Seth asked.
"I will still be here so I will come by and check her Thursday and I will know if she is clear to fly." Dr. Green said.
"Okay." Becky said. "Thanks for coming."
"She's my favorite patient." Dr. Green said.
Rich showed him out and Gracie began to stir.
"Daddy?" She asked.
"Hi baby." Seth said. "Mommy has some medicine for you."
"Is my ear sick again?" Gracie asked.
"It is." Seth said. "Dr. Green checked you over and gave us some meds."
"Dr. Green?" Gracie asked looking around.
"He had to go, but he left you this." Rich said holding up a lollipop.
Gracie smiled and took the sucker. Becky gave Gracie her meds and then she wanted Becky to hold her.
"You feel like eating some more?" Becky asked.
"No." Gracie said. "Can I have some juice?"
"Of course you can." Annette said getting her a bottle of cranberry juice.
"Tanks." Gracie said taking some sips. "I just wanna sit with you mommy."
"And I want that too." Becky said and everyone moved back to the table. Gracie feel asleep on Becky while they finished dinner.
"Sorry about this." Seth said.
"We understand." Ken said. "Kids get sick, you two seem to have a handle on what to do?"
"After last time we've had too." Becky said.
"That was a nightmare." Seth said. "We had just flown into Denver and she just started throwing up and saying she was dizzy. We had to wait for her meds to be filled and she was not happy."
"No one is when they are sick." Annette said running her hand over Gracie's head.

"I carry her anti-nauseous meds with me so if she needs them."
"That's smart." Ken said.
"What's this?" Seth said seeing Gracie curled up in the middle of the bed.
"She came in while you were in the shower." Becky said. "She wants to sleep curled up with her mommy and daddy."
"I don't blame her." Seth said as he climbed into the bed. "I like sleeping curled up with her mommy too."
Becky smiled and leaned over and kissed him.
"I quite like sleeping curled up with her daddy." Becky said.
"My daddy." Gracie said.
"That I am." Seth said. "You feeling better?"
"A little." Gracie said. "I seep here?"
"Yes you can sleep here." Seth said.
They laid down shutting the lights off and both curled up with Gracie all falling asleep.
"Good morning darling." Annette said when Becky came into the kitchen.
"Morning ma." Becky said.
"How is Gracie?" Annette asked.
"Sleeping still." Becky said. "She crashed with us last night, still curled up with Seth."
"She's a daddy's girl." Annette said.
"She is." Becky said. "He's the only daddy she's ever had."
"How?" Annette asked.
"McKenna was only thirteen when she was diagnosed with cancer. She knew the battle to save her life if they could would take her chances of ha king kids away and she felt very strongly in her heart that she was meant to have a baby. So she used a clinic and Gracie was created." Becky said.
"Wow." Annette said. "And her family didn't approve of this?"
"They didn't and tossed her out." Becky said. "Addison was McKenna's legal guardian and went through everything with her."
"Why didn't she adopt Gracie?" Annette asked.
"McKenna felt Gracie had a family out there that was waiting for her." Becky said. "Addison had three kids of her own and would've loved to adopt Gracie but she saw how in love we fell with her and Gracie with us. She knew we were meant to be her mommy and daddy."
"Wow." Annette said.
"The moment I met her she captured me, threw me completely off my game." Becky said smiling as she sipped her coffee. "When we arrived back at the hospital and she saw us she just broke down and I held her. She knew McKenna was close to dying and she didn't know what was going to happen when McKenna was wrong, but the minute McKenna told her she found her mommy and daddy, Gracie knew she was going to be okay."
"You said it was Seth's idea to adopt her." Annette said.
"I hadn't started thinking of it, but he had." Becky said.
"I saw she had fallen in love and so knew she needed Gracie like Gracie needed her." Seth said coming in with Gracie.
"I always need mommy." Gracie said reaching for Becky.
Becky smiled and took her into her arms holding her close and kissing her head.
"I always need you too." Becky said. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay." Gracie said.
"Are you hungry?" Annette asked.
"Can I have grapes?" Gracie asked.
"I am all out of grapes." Annette said.
"It's a good thing I stopped by the store." Josh said coming in from his jog.
"Grapes." Gracie said.
"Let me wash those." Annette said taking the bag.
"How you know Uncle Josh?" Gracie asked.

"A little birdy told me." Josh said.
"Welly? The red one from last time?" Gracie asked.
"Yep." Josh said.
"Uncle Josh is the bestest." Gracie said.
"He sure it." Seth said.
"I got two others to compete with." Josh said. "Gotta keep on my toes and earn my title."
Everyone laughed as Gracie munched on her grapes.
"Tank Grammy." Gracie said.
"You are welcome." Annette said getting out some juice for her too.
"Are we doing Day with the Deadboys today?" Gracie asked.
"We have it in a little while are you up for coming?. Becky asked.
"Mommy we can't do Day with the Deadboys without me." Gracie said. "I am the cheering coach."
"Okay but if you get tired I want you to sit out." Becky said.
"I will mommy." Gracie said. "Can I wear my new skull leggings with my Deadboys shirt?"
"Yes." Becky said helping her find the right leggings and getting dressed.
"I have meds." Seth said coming in.
"Me." Gracie said moving over and taking her meds.
"Good job baby." Seth said. "I like these leggings."
"Very fitting since we're going to try and kill people withour workout." Gracie said.
"Very." Seth said chuckling.
"Mommy can I have a bun like you?" Gracie asked.
"Have a seat"" Becky said going to work in her hair and putting it up like hers.
"Oh my." Annette said seeing Becky and Gracie dressed alike.
"Mommy dressed like me Grammy." Gracie said. "We're twining."
"I see." Annette said.
"They do this a lot." Seth said.
"Kinda crazy how much alike they do look." Josh said.
"I agree." Annette said. "You have fun but call if I need to come get her."
"Will do, see you later." Becky said.
"Bye Grammy we're off to kill people." Gracie said making everyone laugh.
When they arrived at the gym it was packed with people.
"Welcome." Luke the owner said coming over. "Everyone who signed up is here."
"Okay, then let's get started." Josh said and they called everyone to attention. "Welcome and thank you for joining us on this fine morning for this killer day with the Deadboys."
He broke down what they would be doing since there were so many of them.
"We're going to do shifts of twenty at a time in each section." Josh said. "Seth here will be doing weights, Bex here will be handling wall balls and kettle bell swings and Gracie will be doing burpees and box jumps with help, but let me warn you she's a tough one."
"Uncle Josh." Gracie said giggling.
"I will doing the bikes and Luke here will be doing pull ups." Josh said. "If you need to scale please let us know so we can help you, if you need to break please do and drink water. I want know one hurting themselves. If you have questions or haven't done a move please tell us."
"Some of the kids have never done a burpee or box jump." Luke said.
"Well you'll have the best teacher." Josh said. "Let's have the kids start with Gracie and I'll come over and help once I get the bikes going."
"Okay." Gracie said smiling. "This way."
Becky smiled seeing Gracie leading a group of kids towards where the boxes were.
"Who here has never done this?" Gracie asked and saw most raised their hands. "Well it's easy, that's why they have me do it."
She showed them how to find a box that would work for them.
"Now for the jumps you want to jump up on top and stand." She said showing them. "Make sure to stand all the way up, use your arms for momentum if you need to. Let's try."
Everyone did so and she smiled.
"Good, now you step down and then jump up again ten times in a row, but don't try to go fast and hurt yourself." Gracie said.
She worked with them and saw a girl in the back looking scared.
"Uncle Josh will you help them through two sets?" Gracie asked.
Josh nodded and Gracie walked over to the girl.
"Hi." Gracie said. "I'm Gracie."
"I'm Lizzie." The girl said. "You're good at this."
"Thanks, I practice a lot with my mommy and daddy and Uncle Josh." Gracie said. "Do you wanna try?"
"I might fall over." Lizzie said.
"You might but you might not, you never know unless you try." Gracie said.
"I'm not a good jumper." Lizzie said.
"Not many are unless you practice." Gracie said. "Mommy had to teach me a lot before I got it and I still have issues. Wanna try together?"
"Okay." Lizzie said.
Gracie smiled and stood next to her holding her hands
"One, two, three." Gracie counter and both jumped and landed on the box.
"I did it." Lizzie said.
"You did, now try by yourself, you can do it." Gracie said stepping down with her.
Lizzie looked scared but took a breath and jumped landing perfectly.
"See, you can do it." Gracie said. "Just go slow and take your time, you're learning still, when we learn it's not going to be perfect for awhile."
"Thanks." Lizzie said trying again and doing it.
"If you feel wobbly then take a break but try after a minute of rest." Gracie said.
Lizzie nodded and kept going and Gracie moved back to the front.
"That was smart." Josh said.
"Thanks." Gracie said. "Who's ready to learn how to burpee?"
The kids were excited so she showed them how and went though it with them.
"Great job." Gracie said. "Now we'll try a small set, do five burpees and then five box jumps and we'll do that three times."
"So burpee, jump, burpee, jump, burpee, jump?" A boy asked.
"Yes." Gracie said.
Everyone got to work and did the sets and Gracie smiled.
"Now we'll up it to seven of each for three sets." Gracie said and they got to it and Josh smiled.
"Take them to twenty slowly and then we'll switch." Josh said and Gracie nodded working them through the levels. Cheering those who needed it and reminding some to slow down so they didn't hurt themselves.
"We're not racing right now." Josh said. "We'll do some of that next since you are to small for the bikes."
After they switched Becky's group came over and everyone got out new boxes.
"So let's do five rounds of ten each to start." Gracie said and set them going.
One lady was having issues but she had the wrong size box.
"You're box is to big." Gracie said. "You'll hurt yourself if you do it go down."
"I got this." She said jumping up and catching her feet and falling but getting up to go again.
Gracie looked around for Josh but he was busy but saw Luke wasn't so he walked over to him.
"Can you help me please." She asked.
"Okay." Luke said and Gracie took his hand over to we're the girl failed again.
"Her box is to tall for her." Gracie said.
"Brina you know that box is to big." Luke said p. "Gracie is right, you could really hurt yourself if you'd not careful."
"But I wanna jump this high." Brina said.
"You gotta work your way up." Luke said. "Master one level at a time."
"Okay." Brina said switching her box.
She worked them up to fifty for three sets before the switched and she began another group. There were a few who had never done burpees so she showed them how and once they were comfortable she set them to task.
After everyone cycled through Gracie laid next to Becky catching her breath.
"How's my baby?" Seth asked.
"Dead." Gracie said. "That was fun."
"It was." Seth said. "You did a great job."
"Thanks." Gracie said.
"What was that girls problem?" Becky asked.
"Lizzie was scared." Gracie said. "New things can be scary but I held her hand and showed her she could do."
"You did, I am very proud of you." Becky said.
"I get it from you mommy." Gracie said rolling over on her stomach and looking at Becky. "You help me when I am scared and learning new things. You make me feel strong, brave and courageous."
Becky smiled sitting up and pulling Gracie into her lap.
"You make me feel all those too." Becky said hugging her.
"I am hungry." Gracie said making everyone laugh.
"Let's go shower and change and then we will go pig out." Becky said.
"Yay." Gracie said.
"What looks good?" Seth asked.
"Everything." Gracie said. "May I pick two things?"
"Which two?" Becky asked.
"Hmm?" Gracie said looking at the menu. "The macaroni and cheese and fries."
"Yes you can have both." Becky said.
When the waitress came over everyone order and Gracie sat coloring until there food came.
"Med time." Seth said when they got back to Annette.
"And nap." Gracie said yawning.
Seth smiled and got her meds and then Gracie went down for a nap.
"How was today?" Annette asked.
"It was good." Becky said.
"It was." Seth said. "I like that fitness can bring people together and change lives."
"Me too." Becky said. "I've never been a traditional gym person but CrossFit works for me, I can do it alone or with people and it always changes."
"That is why it is so popular." Josh said. "And the fact you can scale works too, not everyone can do the same thing so it works."
"I see why this is your calling." Annette said. "And the fact that your made a living out of what you love is awesome."
"It is." Josh said. "Getting to work with everyone I have and do is amazing. Lately it's been awesome traveling with these two and Gracie."
"That girl's outlook on life is amazing." Annette said.
"It is." Becky said. "McKenna was always honest with her. She never wanted Gracie to feel blindesided by what was coming. She knew she was going to die so she needed Gracie to know that she was loved."
"Does she talk about McKenna often?" Annette asked.
"Every day." Becky said. "I know at some point it will change but I never want her to feel she cannot talk about her."
"That's good." Annette said.
"Mommy?" Gracie called.
"I'm in the kitchen." Becky said and Gracie appeared smiling. "Hi."
"Hi." Gracie said climbing into her lap.
"Did you have a good nap?" Seth asked.
"A great nap." Gracie said. "I dreamed of building a snowman."
"Sounds fun and cold." Becky said.
"It was silly too." Gracie said. "I put daddy's Bear's gear on it and he came to life."
"Sounds like my kind of snowman." Seth said. "Maybe this winter will can do that."
"Yay." Gracie said. "At home?"
"Yes." Seth said.
"Missing your bed?" Annette asked.
"And Kevin." Gracie said.
"Our dog." Seth said. "How about you video call Grandma and see how he's doing."
"Okay." Gracie said jumping down to go her iPad.
"Hello." Holly said.
"Hi Grandma." Gracie said sitting back on Becky's lap.
"Hi sweet pea." Holly said. "Where are you at?"
"We're at Grammy's in EyeOrland." Gracie said.
"Are you having fun." Annette asked.
"Yes." Gracie said. "But I miss home and Kevin."
"He misses you too but he's waiting for next Tuesday." Holly said. "He's napping right now probably dreaming of how much he's going to lick you when you get back."
"Doggy kisses." Gracie said giggling. "I miss you and Grandpa Bob too."
"We miss you too." Holly said. "I bet you're going to have lot of stories to tell us."
"So many." Gracie said, "I got presents too."
"You are such a sweet girl." Holly sakd.
"Thank you." Gracie said. "How is Grandpa Bob's back?"
"He is healing just fine." Holly said.
"Good." Gracie said. "I sick too."
"What?" Holly asked.
"She got an eat infection." Becky said. "We got her in meds."
"Good." Holly said. "I hope you feel better soon."
"Thanks Grandma." Gracie said.
"You have fun and we'.l see you when you get home." Holly said.
"Will do, bye Grandma." Gracie said.
"Bye sweet pea." Holly said and the call ended.
"So what now?" Gracie asked looking up at Becky.
"How about we do some exploring." Becky said.
"Shopping." Gracie said and everyone laughed.

The Portals of Albion
Portals to other worlds. Siblings with a secret. A world in need of magic. Zach is haunted, scarred by his time spent in a place that might as well have been hell. Zara, his sister, even more so. After years of torturous experiments, they were finally rescued. But the years since then haven’t been easy. Both siblings just want a break, something to take their minds from the past. The portals that appeared all over the world a hundred years ago are the key. The reason behind years of captivity now holds the answer to their problems. For the second time in his life, Zack awakens as a ‘Traveler’. Someone possessing the ability to pass through these portals and venture into the mystic realms. What begins as a fresh start soon attracts the attention of nobles and those with less savory intentions. When you have known nothing but distrust for those in power, what would you do to remain in control of your life? I will be uploading new chapters on Tuesday and Saturday each week at 4pm Mountain Standard Time. (The story has been described as X-men meets Narnia. Which while not entirely accurate, is still a fun way of looking at it.) (Note: As with my other stories, this one focuses more on the characters than on constant action. The Lite-LitRPG and Gamelit elements are introduced into the story gradually.) Author's Note: This is my raw, mostly unedited text. I am using RR to test out this story as I'm writing it to get a feel for how the published and edited copy will be received. Certain sections of the story will be changed or added to when I publish it as well.
