"Your a worthless pathetic woman. You're a good for nothing bitch. I have no idea why I married you. Why I had to take care of you and that piece of shit of a daughter." My dad yells before storming out the house. Probably to drink and come to later hit us. I sometimes wonder why my mom doesn't leave but then again where would we go, we have no one.

Just the two of us in this world.

"I will love you forever.

No matter what people say. You are my world and forever will be.I just need time to prove that I can make you understand that together we're everything." I sing the song my mom sang to me to Amelia. She gives me a semi-toothless smile. It has been quite a few days since I have started working here and not once has her mom called to check up on her.

I think my mom has called me more.

And I'm 21.

The phone rings I quickly answer the phone.

Speaking of the devil.

"Hello, Lisa it's Mrs. Richard I just called to say that we don't know when we will be back but that I hope you're taking good care of Amelia. Goodbye." Before I can answer she hangs up. Unbelievable, she didn't even ask about her child. I put my phone away, and get up to get Amelia it's time for our walk. In this time weather is chilly but sunny, and Amelia loves to sit in the grass and play with her toys. I'm a little surprise it's almost Christmas and it's not that cold but it probably will soon.

"Watch out!" Comes a yell from behind us. I pick up Amelia as a big German shepherd comes running our way. With a man running after it.

"I'm sorry, Miss he just ran off on me." The owner of the dog comes to a stop in front of us. He appears to be in his mid to late forties.

He actually looks familiar. With black as midnight hair and chocolate brown eyes just like mine. "It's fine, sir," I tell him.

"Sorry to scare Y'all, I'll just be on my way." The man takes ahold of his dogs and leaves.

"Well, wasn't that just exciting. " I tell Amelia. I sit back down on the blankets and continue to play with her for a few more minutes before going home.

"Lisa, since the weekend is coming up I usually leave on Friday cause I don't work the weekends I'll be leaving to go visit my family but Ana is still here, so I'll be gone goodbye child. 'Til Monday and good job you've lasted almost a week, hope you last much more." Claire hugs me before leaving. I finish my milk and cookies before going to Amelia's room to read her a book. I sometimes feel that she gets lonely in her room so I sometimes I put her in mine. I grab a book from the bookshelves Amelia has in her bedroom. I know she doesn't understand what I'm reading but she sure does love the pictures in them.

"Hey, sweetie." She has her favorite teddy bear in her arms waiting for me to take her. We make our way to my room. I lay her down on my bed and begin storytelling.

Somewhere in the darkness, I hear a phone ringing. Without checking who it could be I answer the phone.

"Miss Grey why are you not home. I have just arrived from a trip, went home thinking you were there. But I'm met with the surprise that you are nowhere to be found. Now I ask you again why are you not home." The voice of a madman demands. Confused I look to see who called.

Mr. Knight.

Crap. I thought Mr. Knight told him.

Guess not.

"Umm, sir. I no longer work for you." I explain to him to him slowly as if I were talking to a child.

"And who allowed you to quit." He questions in a hard voice.

"I'm allowed to do what I want. But I informed your father of this and he was fine with it." I inform him. Thinking in my head I don't actually work for you. I don't tell him any of this of course.

"Well, as long as you work for me I have a say in what you can do. I didn't let you quit. So I expect you tomorrow morning." This man who does he think he is, I stare at my phone. I could just hang up on him, my finger ready to press end but I rethink this he'll probably just call again.

"I worked for you, yes but your dad was the one that hired me. He was fine with me quitting so don't expect me tomorrow morning. " I feel anger at this man. Thinking he can control me.

"I'm not done with you. Not 'til I say so. So you will be working for me again. I will find wherever you are. "He growls at me before hanging up the phone cutting me off before I could even protest. I turn off my phone in hopes if he calls again he'll get the message that I no longer work for him.

Big, idiot man.

I lay in bed, turn to face Amelia and kiss her chubby cheek. Thinking,I will never leave you.

I know what it feels to grow up alone and with the way your parents are, I doubt they'll give you a sibling.

I cuddle Amelia to my side feeling a warm feeling spread inside like a wildfire. I feel the need to always keep you close and safe. You are changing my life in a good way. Heck, my mom even loves her. Then again when you see this angel face who couldn't.

Her parents. A nasty thought floats in my head.

But that's okay because she has me to love her twice as much and their people who love her too. With that, I drift off to sleep.
