《Fake Girlfriend || NamjoonxReader FF》Ch. 6- Considering Her MY Bodyguard

It's been a week now that I have been going to a actual school. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but there are its challenges.
I look out the window then at the clock hanging nearby, waiting for school to end.
And..~
Ring!
There goes the bell! school is out!
I stand to my feet as Y/N is called by the teacher up front. I grab my stuff and follow behind her.
Mrs. Chang gave a look at Y/N, I instantly knew that she wasn't happy.
"Were is your assignment from two days ago?" She looked straight at her, sternly.
She jumped a bit, startled by her voice. "Well um.. I forgot to bring it"
"Did you really?" She leaned her body on her desk.
She hid her hands behind her back as she glanced down for a second. "Yes mam. I will give it to you tomorrow."
"I will look forward to that"
She bows quickly then leaves the room, me behind her.
When we get on the bus, I turn to her, "Did you really do it?"
She crosses her legs, looking down, "No.."
"Would you like me to help you finish the assignment?"
She perks up at me. "No no! Its fine! I will be done quickly!'
"Okay..."
After some time, I get to my stop. I wave goodbye to Y/N then get off the bus. As I walk to my house, I think about her...
She actually isn't that bad as I thought...
And the weird thing is, now I don't mind her being my bodyguard. She might not be able to protect me, but I do like her company.
But there is that one thing that still has been on my mind- why hasn't someone like her laughed in a long time? I know its stupid to still be thinking of that, but it has been making me go crazy. The worst part is that I haven't even found a single clue to the reason why.

Another Tuesday, I enter the cafeteria with Namjoon.
We sit down and after grabbing our lunches and begin to eat. As we do, my friend Tzuyu, and some of her friends, walk up to our table.
"Can we sit with you Y/N?" Tzuyu gave me a pleading look, and of course I couldn't say no.
"Sure!" I smiled brightly at her.
She giggled then sat down along with her other friends.
"So, these are my friends, Sana, Chan, and Mina"
They smiled and waved at us.
I blinked a few times then opened my mouth to speak, "I'm Y/N, and this is Namjoon," I pointed to him.
Mina spoke up. "Oh! I seen you two a few times before!"
I smiled and chuckled to myself.
She peered at us, "Are you siblings?"
I looked at her confused, "No?"
She thought a little more, "Best friends?"
"No, not exactly"
Chan laughed, "Is she your servant?"
Namjoon poked up, "N-no! Of course not!"
Mina gaged, "Maybe they are married since they are always together~"
We stared at then, in shock.
Chan put his hand under his chin, "What about bodyguard?"
They just laughed as they tried to figured out why we almost never separated.
I looked at Namjoon and he didn't seem to be able to handle them taking about us. He was looking down with his hands intertwined with each other. I'm guessed that he isn't used to this like I kinda am.
He suddenly spoke up.
"She's my girlfriend!"
OMG. WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. CHICKEN. NUGGETS.
I looked at Namjoon, and he looked surprised himself.
I kept hearing them talk about us. I was going well with ignoring it until they said 'bodyguard'-
I know I like her as my bodyguard maybe, but others know that she is my bodyguard. No, I couldn't handle that.

I quickly tried to find a way to lead them away from that idea, and I guess my mouth was faster than my thoughts because the next think heard from my lips was-
She's my girlfriend!
Frick! I honestly don't know what to do. What will she think of that?
IM. PANICKING.
Everyone gasped.
Tzuyu dropped her jaw, "You two are.. together?"
I gave him a 'look'. He couldn't bear to look at me any longer, so he turned his head, muttering something to himself.
I turned back to her.
"Y-yes"
They widened their eyes and beamed.
Tzuyu cheered happily, "Aw! You two are so cute together! I'm happy for you!"
Sana glanced at Namjoon and smiled, "No need to be nervous Namjoon!"
He turned his head and looked straight at me. He was obviously shocked by what I said.
For the rest of our lunch period, that was the topic, Namjoon and me. I was a bit strange but I tried my best to go with it. At least we have a answer now of why we are together on the bright side.
After school, we rode the bus again.
Unlike other times, today was awkwardly quiet, until Namjoon spoke up to break the silence.
"I'm sorry Y/N.. "
I sigh then turn to him.
"I-its fine... we were gonna need a reason anyways... since we are always together.. I was the most reasonable answer"
He looked a bit relived as the bus came to a stop. He stood up and grabbed his books.
"See you tomorrow Y/N" He quickly hopped off the bus and walked home.
I watched him from the window, slowly disappear from my sight.
I couldn't stop thinking about what happened back there.
I now have a fake boyfriend. Great.
