《MY Sweet Interlude》17-A Night With Friends

After posting their selfies on their group chat, Hoseok and Namjoon replied if they were invited which Aliya responded to with a yes. Later on, Hoseok arrived with three boxes of pizza because he said he was in a pizza mood. Namjoon and Nari arrived with some dessert. Jin messaged that it was not fair because he was away visiting his girlfriend's family. Yoongi on the other hand didn't reply.
"Impromptu gatherings like these are always fun." Hoseok said as he sampled the food on the table after eating a couple of slices of the pizza he brought.
"I miss our weekend getaways." Namjoon added. "Let's plan one soon."
"Maybe we can go when Taehyung and Jia comes back." Jungkook said as he chewed on a pizza.
"How about the lake house? It's always fun to go there." Jimin said. They were interrupted when everyone's phone started to ring. It was Taehyung calling them at their group chat. The boys all answered their phone and after a few chaotic seconds, they settled on using Aliya's desktop.
Taehyung said they just arrived in Amsterdam and were still resting at the hotel. Jin joined the group call and their conversation went from one topic to another.
"You're in Aliya's place right? How come we haven't see her yet?" Jia asked.
Everyone turned to Aliya was standing behind the screen and before she can even move, Hoseok pulled her. "Here she is." He said.
Aliya was hoping that they'd finish the video call without her having to face Taehyung. She found the last time they were together embarrassing. She thought confessing her feelings to her bestfriend was a good idea but as the days went on, she began to wonder if it really was a good decision. However, just like every decision she's made, she just had to face the consequence no matter what it is. So mustering all her courage, she smiled and gave a wave to the couple. "Hey, I'm here." She said clearing her throat a few times after speaking. "How's the weather there?" It's always safe to start a conversation with the weather which is why she asked.
"It's beautiful when we got out of the airport." Jia replied turning to her husband and waited for him to say something. Taehyung didn't bother saying hi to Aliya or even crack a smile at her, he just stared at the screen instead and that made Aliya feel awkward. He is obviously upset with her because of what she told him and perhaps for kissing him too. She just wanted the floor to open up and swallow her whole so she'd disappear from this scene.

"Aliya where's Yoongi, he's the only one missing here." Jin asked after an awkward silence as they waited for Taehyung to speak.
Aliya had no idea how to answer that queston. She is grateful for Jin's intervention but dang, of all things he could ask why that? She noticed Taehyung was looking at her now his expression unreadable. She stuttered as she answered "He is I er, I don't know. Why ask me?" She felt her cheeks burning and again, wished she didn't blush so easily.
Jin laughed at Aliya's reply. Jimin jumped into the conversation starting a different topic as he gently pulled a pink faced Aliya away from the screen. "Hey, we're thinking of having a weekend getaway at the lake house when you get back here so don't make any other plans ok."
She was grateful to her friend for helping her out from that situation. She must admit she is offended because of how Taehyung reacted with her. He used to make it a point to call her whenever he's away, no matter where he was and now, he just embarrassed her in front of everyone. She said damn with the consequence after deciding to do what she did but it still hurts.
Nari sat next to her as the boys continued to chat. "Are you ok? What's up with you and Taehyung? Had one of your fights again?" She asked. She knew all of them well enough to know how Aliya would often have arguments with Taehyung, Jimin or Jungkook.
"Yeah, you know our petty arguments." She replied with a sad attempt of a smile. She feels bad for having to lie to Nari, even if she knew she can be trusted, she can't maker herself speak about how she feels for her best friend.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked looking at her closely. Nari is finishing her masters in Psychology, so it's not really easy to lie to her. She doesn't put her nose in other people's affair unless asked though.
Aliya shook her head slowly. "Everything's all good. Nothing that can't be solved." She replied looking at the other woman with a genuine smile this time.
"It's not because of Yoongi is it? Namjoon said Taehyung called Yoongi before he left for his honeymoon. No one knows what happened to that conversation. Is that why Yoongi didn't answer the call today?" Nari asked. Aliya scowled because she didn't know about that either.

"I honestly didn't know about that conversation they had. But, I think Yoongi didn't answer the call because he might just be busy at work." She replied.
Nari rested her chin on her hand and watched her closely. "So how did you even know that." She asked with a meaningful smile.
Aliya smiled too. "He told me."
"Ok, tell me more." Nari asked and listened as Aliya narrated how she was in the club and she met Jihyun followed by the boys including Yoongi and the women they were with. She also told her how Jihyun took her home that night.
"Wait, Jihyun, your ex, was here at your house?" Nari asked her eyes getting wide.
"It's nothing like that. He just brought me home and we were just talking." Aliya reasoned. She saw the other woman's expression and she raised a hand defensively. "I had to explain that we can't be together because I wasn't ready for a relationship."
"That means he wants to get back with you am I right?" Nari asked her smile widening. "I can't blame him, look at you girl."
Aliya shook her head. "There's nothing to see. I am just plain Aliya."
"You are not plain. You don't have to wear make up to make yourself pretty, just like right now. " Nari said. "Honestly, I was kind of jealous when I first met you because I was thinking at some point, Namjoon must've been attracted to you with a face and a body like that."
Aliya flinched in response trying to shrink back at her chair. "Namjoon is like an older brother to me. Compared to you, you can be in a beauty pageant you've got the looks and the brain."
Nari roller her eyes at her. "I saw how everyone treated you, they seem very close and protective of you. Anyway, my jealous fit lasted for a day because I know Namjoon loves me. When a person loves you, you'd feel if you have 100% of his heart." Nari said with a smile as she looked at Namjoon who was laughing over what Jin was saying. He must've sensed her looking at him since he turned at her direction and gave her a smile that spoke a million messages.
That must be nice, Aliya thought. She's seen Taehyung give that look to Jia too, she thought sadly.
"So, you said that Yoongi was here last night?" Nari asked interrupting her thoughts.
"Yeah, he said he'd come over if Jihyun leaves. They were at Jimin's place with their dates." Aliya said.
"Wait, Yoongi came over here at your place with his date?" She sounded so mortified with that thought.
Aliya chuckled. "No he didn't bring his date over. I don't know what happened, but he said he sent her home."
"Sent her home? Jeez, I'd be pissed if I was that girl." Nari commented.
"I didn't get to ask for the details. But yeah, he came over." Aliya didn't continue telling her what happened after. The memories of the past night flashed in her head and she couldn't help but blush.
Nari pursed her lips as she studied Aliya's face. "So, I guess something happened after that basing on your blush. That is why he told you where he'd be today." She concluded.
"Gosh, you are so good at reading between the lines." Aliya said with a laugh.
"That's why Namjoon can't keep any lie from me." She whispered with a wink.
"Girls, say goodbye to the honeymooners now they're hanging up." Namjoon raised his voice, so they'd hear.
"Honeymooners? Is Jin on a honeymoon too?" Aliya asked.
"Ya, are you trying to get back at me for asking you about Yoongi?" Jin asked jokingly.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Aliya replied. She thought she saw Taehyung smile, but she wasn't sure since she was a bit far back from the screen.
Everyone stayed until later that evening making sure they helped Aliya clean up the house before they left. The leftovers of that night were all left for her since they didn't want to bring some home.
"But how can I eat them all?" She asked as she eyed her fridge which was now full.
"Don't worry, I'll come over when I get hungry." Jimin said with a laugh.
"Of course, my kitchen is an extension of yours." She replied and Jimin laughed harder. He did promise to come back the next day to get some food for his dinner so he didn't have to cook or order take out.
