《Free Your Mind》Chapter Twenty-One: Creator of The World
Advertisement
I ask the creator above me, how much can this world take? Since the first full turn around, there's just never been a break. I ask the creator above me, if you're real, then why do we remain here? Why do so many suffer in silence, your intervention is needed here.
I ask the creator above us, why can't the world rest for once? Is it your plan to keep us down, to let us all live in fear? I ask the creator above us, is there any way for relief? Other than the final resting place, is there ever a moment to be free?
I ask my creator above me, just how much more I can take? I'm gaining a feeling of dread each day, it's a matter of time till I break. I ask my creator above me, why have I ended up this way? Can I live to see another day, or will it all be over soon?
They ask the creator above them, if they could have just a moment of peace. For all their lives, they've been hurt till they cry, they beg for some release. They ask the creator above them, is it really only belief, is that all it takes? Because even with all their faith, you've never let up on them.
They ask their maker in the clouds, why do you only look down? Why do you never help, a simple prayer seems to leave no answers. They ask their maker who sits so high, that they don't mean to offend, but they just have to ask why? Why is it you let them live in despair, depression sets thick in the air.
We all now ask the creator of the world, why allow us to be this way? Life keeps us down at every turn, no solution can be seen near. We all now ask the creator of the world, if you're good, why leave the earth in ruins this way. We're never meant to ask questions, but now more than ever we need you. We sit asking for a miracle, knowing none is set to come. Yet we still must keep our morale, in fear of a threat of burning in hell.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

Follow Asmodeas as he seeks to step out of the shadow of the name of his family and prove himself every bit as worthy as his brother who has gone before him, a famous mage in his own right. This is a world where Gods, Immortals and mages roam with impunity, filled with magic and wonder, mystery and opportunity. Strongly focused on progression with elements of the "rational" subgenre of fantasy. Magic academy.
