《Vampire's Betrayal》Chapter Five

The look on Boss's face as I charged into his office, only pissed me off more. It was like he was annoyed that I was interrupting whatever he was doing. Ignoring him looking at me, I sat down in one of the chairs across from him. I stared him down with my arms crossed across my chest. Making him stop whatever he was doing and sit back in the chair he was sitting in with a heavy sigh.

"What is it, Leah?" he said annoyed.

I smiled at him, "I just need some things explained to me and depending what the answers are will determined if I still want to be a part of this family."

He raised an eyebrow, "Now I'm intrigued."

"First explain how someone like you can walk away from your crimes while Donny is sent to death?" I flat out asked.

Boss's face became a complete mask of emotionlessness. It was hard to read what he was thinking as he answered, "Donny killed his own father."

"You killed your sister. I don't see how that is any different," I told him. Anger flashed in his eyes but it was gone as fast as it appeared, "Of course you didn't get your hands dirty. You just told her the right thing to make her get on that rooftop with Ricky. What did you say to her, by the way?"

Boss continued to sit silently at the desk. He didn't say a word and I was starting to think he was slowly turning into a statue. It was a moment where I had wished I knew what was running through his mind as I asked him these questions.

"If you don't want to answer that. At least answer the one question that has been picking at my brain since I realized that you were the real traitor in the family," I said as I leaned closer to him, "Why did you ruin so many people's lives?"

I didn't expect him to answer the question. It would have been too easy. Boss was someone who kept secrets and there wasn't going to be a way for him to talk.

Standing up, I gave up trying to make him confess any crime he had done, "I've had it with this family."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Boss asked as if he didn't understood what I was getting at. But looking at him more told me that he understood completely.

"I'm not your prisoner here," I told him as I walked towards the office door, "I can leave whenever I want. The only rule is that I can't return to my hometown."

"And where do you plan to go? This family is all you have now," he asked in a tone that made my skin crawl. It was like he really believed that I had no where to go. That all I could rely on to survive was the Seadonna Family. I was about to give him the one answer he probably didn't expect me to give.

"I'll just have to join the enemy you created," I told him as I slowly opened the door. But his next set of words made me freeze.

"If that is the case, you can't take them with you," he said. I could hear him stand up from he chair and walk around the desk. But I refused to face him, "The twins stay here for their own protection."

I have never wanted to kill someone in my whole life until now. It was interesting that it was a time like this that Boss showed his true colors. His manipulative behavior is probably why he was still in charge of the family instead of Ricky.

Facing him, I glared. My heart breaking with the thought of being forced to abandon my own children. The two family members that actually mattered to me. I couldn't protect them from this evil man and take them with me. Knowing Boss he would come up with a way to make sure the twins stayed and I was locked away.

"You know what, Boss?" I said with a serious tone, "Fuck you."

And with that I left his office and headed back to my room. Texting Derik the whole way there.
