《Lost In the Void. (Monster Evolution LitRpg)》Chapter 13. Base Hunting

First I need to find out what type of base would suite me best. Trees are a no-go. Maybe If a tree was big and wider enough I could carve out a hole into It to sleep In. I can't be up in a tree contending with monsters that already live there. A cave would be ideal, but that would mostly to the north towards the mountains. There might be something that is has a good defendable area for me to build up. It needs to be higher up than the rest of the surrounding area to spot enemies before they get too close to me. Finding something like this will be harder to do here. The chances of finding a perfect area for a base is slim. But the alternative is to live at the pond, and I am already being watched by something there.
Some monsters came to the edge where the barrier used to separate the forest from the subspace confused that they could see through it now instead of how it was just mere moments ago. I want to fuck with them and kill them to get some food in stock since I saw more of those snake monsters that tasted so good. Must just taste stale and like dirt with a gummy and tough texture. It was horrible to eat but If need be I would still eat It to survive. After all food is food, and it was needed for all things that require sustenance. There were also some Darklings hanging from branches and other things here like some grass thing called a Moldling and an owl bird Void Owl. Everything else was too far away to get what they were called. “You are all truly weak to have not been able to complete the quest the Mother gave to destroy the subspace of the Invading Goddess.” I said to them. Not really caring that the about the other goddess at all but, I thought it would be wise to make myself the boss of this area to show power.

Some of them got riled up and looked like they would charge me while others look at me with fear. So might as well raise the flames some more. “It was so easy that I fell asleep inside there for a few hours before destroying it. I am still bored out of my mind out how easy it was. I could kill all of you here, and I wouldn't even need to move from this spot.” Mockingly I said to them.
Fur and feathers stood on end at my words to them. Angry howls and cries could be heard around me. I had fully recharged all of my resources and was ready for a battle should one happen.
“Come already and fight me instead of standing there with your head up your asses or are you all too scared to fight a real monster and son of the Mother.” I said.
Something boar like ran towards me, I didn't even care about its name before blowing its head off with just two shots of Basic Light Bolt. Not even moving my body to turn the head exploded into a shower of gore. Four more boars ran I did the same to them as well watching them slump down missing their heads. “Boring when are you going to give me an actual fight to the death I want or will I have to fuck with the hordes that live down under our very feet to get that. The Traceling fought better than all of you combined. Such weakness, It's a pity that our Mother created you all just for you to disappoint her this way. Come again I won't even use magic this time, only my hand and claws.” I said sneering at them because of how weak they really were. I felt a rise of anger just from looking out them. I shouldn't expect more from tier 1 anyway since they are still considered newborns in the Void, but this is just sad.

The snake from my right side launched at me and was pretty fast but not as fast as the other one or the Traceling I had fought. I grabbed the snake to stop it from impaling me. When held in my hand it tried to wrap around me to strangle me. It didn't take much to crush its skull and killing it instantly. I pulled the body off me and put it into the tattoo on my wrist. A head of a made of ink appeared and swallowed the bodies of the snake and boars. Fear could be seen in the eyes of all the monsters left in the surrounding area. “What are you frighted by me now? If this is all it takes to scare you all, you should all just die and become my food.” I replied to them. Fear of the unknown will lead to their deaths. So I might as well speed up the process a bit to get some food put away for later to eat.
I unleashed bolt after bolt killing everything that was still nearby me. After that I put all the bodies into the tattoo and left in search for a home to live at. I was so close to reaching the 9th level I could feel it in my bones. After all I had killed quite a few things recently so with a few more and I will get there soon.
Moving through the trees and roots as fast as I ran and jumped pushing myself hard while looking for somewhere good. An hour passed past when I found a hill that had nothing on it. But had around 800ft (243.84 m) of flat ground on top of the hill. And it was open to the sky above, so I can see things coming from above. This was prefect for me to live here.
I sat my ass down and tried to see the things inside the tattoo. The only things inside that I could see was the food I put in there and a little shed? When I wanted to remove it the dragon's head came out and spit it up. A small shed appeared in front of me, and it wasn't even that big being only 7ft (2.13 m) tall and 5ft (1.52 m) wide. Inside was a little bed with blankets and nothing else to see in here. Why have something like this inside of a tattoo? If I wanted I could probably lift this entire shed and toss it off the hill it wasn't that heavy at all. Did the previous owner put this in here to sleep in. I mean it would give me cover if I was attacked by something when I was resting, but I still don't know how durable it is.
I slashed at the wall with my claws and didn't leave a mark on it. I still don't trust the bed, so I won't use that thing without some way to tell if it is safe to use or clean.
This can be used as my home for now until I move to the mountain and then the next area. Guess it's time to get some rest before I train some more. Then I have to make a plan to deal with the Hive Mind before it becomes a bigger mess to deal with than it will be. Pulling all the pawns to me seems like the best course of action to lead me to its nest.
Time to sleep now I am pretty tired after the long two days I had already. Hopefully I can rest well this time and not go crazy again. Plus I need to find out why I am getting so angry all the time It makes things harder to deal with and think of.

Obligate of a Self-Ordained Sorcerer
Come join the Discord! It was a typical late-night friday for Mara, secluded in her apartment in front of a digital expanse, relentlessly mashing code into a keyboard. An introverted workaholic, but this was what she wanted - what she had strived so hard to achieve. So why did she feel so lost? Her life was productive, comfortable, satisfying. Plenty had it worse but she still felt... ungrateful? Stunted? The right word escaped her, but she could feel the general revelation settling upon her. With it came a choice that would set events in motion far beyond the meager scope of a 'New Game+'. So taking an intrusive portal to god-knows-where, Mara will come to find that her new world offers boons and banes with equal abandon. Magic, skills, and unforgiving difficulty. For a frail human shut-in, finding herself stranded in the middle of a sprawling dungeon was one of the least desirable outcomes. Food and water would be the least of her problems, why oh why couldn't she just get summoned by some pervy king to slay a demon army or something? This is a story of magic and adventure with skills and stats galore. A litrpg / isekai epic that I've been inspired to make after years of wonderful works like "So I'm a Spider," "Rimuru the Slime," "Azarinth Healer," "Negima!?," and plethora of other isekai and fantasy novels and animes. Special shout-out to Douglas Adams, a big influence on narative humor that's had a non-insignificant effect on my writing style. I hope you enjoy joining Mara on her journey as I attempt to scratch the itch they left behind.Chapters target 3-6k~ words. Though I'm personally aiming for a chapter every couple weeks, I think I can at least promise one a month with how busy work's been. I made a Patreon due to requests, if you'd like to support me there I'll be using it to fund artwork and RR ads for increased exposure.
