《The American Heist》The Gate

"Sir please wake up” Jack heard a voice say as he began to open his eyes. “Were about to approach the city, is there a specific destination you have in mind." The driver asked Jack. "The Lambert airport please." Jack responded. After making a handful of turns and driving down a road, Busch Stadium was insight. Jack stared at it whilst driving away from it. For some unknown reason Jack decided to make a mental note about it. In about thirty minutes the taxi pulled up to the airport and Jack tipped the driver with another large bill before getting out.
"Have a good day sir!" The driver said right as Jack stepped onto the sidewalk. The driver started to pull away and Jack simply started at the driver and waited until he was out of sight. When he was Jack turned back to the airport and started walking to the entrance. Once inside the airport he went over to counter and put his hand in his leg pocket to make sure his wallet was still there.
"Hello sir, how can I help you today?" The receptionist said with a slight smile on her face. "I’d like a round trip to London, England please." Jack responded with a neutral face.
"Of course sir, that will be eight hundred for a round trip, four fifty for one way ticket." The receptionist said. "Round trip please" Jack said whilst pulling out his wallet. Jack handed the lady a stolen card that he had swiped from Connor when he left his wallet on the kitchen table.
"I'm sorry sir, your card was declined." The receptionist said. "We do take split payments if that will help you". Jack was more caught off guard that Connor's card was declined. Dude wasn't lying when he said he needed the cash” Jack thought to himself. "Would cash suffice?" Jack asked quietly. The receptionist only smiled in response and Jack handed her the cash for the plane ticket. "Have a good flight sir!" The receptionist said as Jack put the nearly empty wallet back into his pocket and began walking to the security checkpoint.

"Well this is going to be fun" Jack thought to himself. As Jack approached him, one of the security guards held up his arm and told him to take all items except clothing and to put them in a bin. Jack reached into his pockets and pulled the loose small items from his pockets. "Alright boy's, let's see how good you truly are." Jack thought to himself as he walked through the metal detector. As expected the alarm goes crazy as if he just won the jackpot at a casino. One of the guards puts up his hand and has Jack stop suddenly.
"Sir I hope you understand, but we'll have to search you." One of the guards said. "Of course, I understand. Safety is the number one priority." Jack said in a monotone voice. "Please put your hands above your head and spread your legs. Jack simply responded to the instructions and the guard started searching Jack. As the guard checked Jack’s pants he was shaking the pants thoroughly then started moving upwards. Jack felt his gun move slightly and his heart dropped. As the guard checked Jack's waist, he for some unknown reason decided not to check all the way around him. "There's no way I'm getting away with this shit." Jack thought to himself as the guard started checking Jack's torso. Right as the guard touched Jack's shirt pocket he felt something push against him and so did the guard. The guard pulled out a metal ring out of his pocket and stared at it for a second before he looked back at Jack.
"Sir, why do you have a grenade pin?" The guard asked in a serious tone. "Well shit, how the hell did that get there." Jack thought to himself. “It was the first grenade I threw when I was at army basic training, I keep it on me because it’s my good luck charm". Jack lied hoping the guard wouldn't call his bluff. The guard simply rolled his eyes and waved Jack though. "Can I have that back?" Jack asked the guard. The guard stared at Jack in disbelief and told him in an unfriendly manner to leave before turning his back to him.

Jack simply smiled and grabbed his personal stuff from the tray and headed to the gate that was printed on his ticket. Once Jack was at the gate he had three hours to kill. Jack reached around behind his back and almost instinctively pulled out his M1911 to clean it. He managed to stop himself and did a fake stretch to fool any one that was watching him. Jack didn't really know what to do for three hours. After thinking for a minute, he pulled out his phone and fired off a quick text to Connor saying that he was surprised that Connor wasn't lying about needing the cash. Connor replied to Jack text with the one finger salute emoji.
Jack chuckled to himself before standing up to go look for a restaurant to enjoy a decent meal. After wandering around for quite some time Jack finally found a restaurant, he sat down and placed an order for a simple burger and fries meal. As Jack patiently waited for his food, he browsed on his phone and saw an old contact that he hasn't contacted in months, Mitchel. Jack remembers he was accepted into the Air Forces Academy to become a military officer and hasn't heard anything from him since. As Jack waited for his phone call to be either rejected or sent to voicemail, he was surprised to hear him pick up the phone and ask who was calling.
“Hey Mitchel, this is Jack, we were friends in high school, do you remember me?” Jack asked. “Sure don’t and what do you want? I’m busy.” Mitchel said in an annoyed tone. “I’m in a pinch here man, do you think you could spare a dollar?” Jack asked and waited for Mitchel’s response. Mitchel simply sighed and hung up. “Thanks for being on up and up” Jack thought before he started to browse his phone’s interface. But just as Jack was about to make another call his food arrived and decided to put his phone away.
When Jack finished eating, he paid the bill and began to start making his way to his gate. His flight is going to leave in fifteen minutes and Jack began to board the flight to find his seat. As Jack took his seat and noticed a very beautiful woman who was walking down the aisle of the plane and Jack quickly but silently hoped that she was going to sit next to him. Unfortunately she walked by and Jack felt slightly upset but soon got over it. As Jack closed his eyes and put his head back on the head rest, he heard what sounded like a goat trying to headbutt a door. Jack’s eyes shot open and his worst fear became real. A large man sat down next to him and began making conversation about topics that Jack didn’t really care about. Jack simply thought how he was going to survive on a twelve hour flight with a pig that won’t shut up and smells worse than a boy's high school locker room. “Hey tons of fun, mind shutting up?’ Jack said before he put his head back on his head rest and fell asleep.
