《Warped World: The Nether Dungeon》Chapter 11 Breach Storm

“Alright Umbra, lay it on me. How do I connect my dungeon to the surface and start letting adventures and other things in to test themselves?”
“Calm down a little, Alaric. Get a grip on yourself okay. Before I tell you how to begin the connection procedure, you need to replace all the monsters and creatures that died during Rage Fueled Supremacy.”
Oh, shit I completely forgot that that ability essentially feeds off the death of my other creatures. A quick check revealed that I had lost a lot in that short amount of time and I really need to replace them. Better play it safe and make sure all my forces are back up to 100% before I start bugging Umbra again.
Right time to focus how many do I need to replace anyway, can’t be more than 20 right.
I was wrong out of 100 Savage Goblins only 15 survived. How did that many get killed? Let’s see here is a report of who killed them, so Savvy, Thrush and Trixy killed 9, 36 got killed by Dire Wolves, 12 to Giant Spiders, 8 to Hogs, 2 to rabbits, and 18 got killed by Atrocity. Damn they were getting fucked up left and right while I was out. The 2 they lost to rabbits is kinda hilarious in a way but still they are definitely not effective at fighting right now. Hopefully the class upgrades they earned help them out in the long run. Please don’t let the High Goblins have taken such a massive loss too. Total High Goblins remaining 8.
How the fuck? This isn’t right, there are 12 High Goblins left. “Umbra can you explain why it says there are only 8 High Goblins when I know there are 12?”
“Bosses and Mini-Bosses don’t count towards this total.”

“Oh, uh I knew that I was just testing you is all.”
“Haha of course, whatever you say my silly core.”
Now then how did the other 13 of them die anyway. 12 to Dire Wolves and 1 to Cicatrix. Huh so even they had a few mishaps while I was out of it. No matter, time to get this dungeon in proper shape and open up.
So, I need to replace 85 Savage Goblins. 19 High Goblins and fill out the rest of the floor with monstrous animals. Let’s start. I'll make 80 of the new Savage Goblins Scrappers, and the remaining 5 I made Scouts along with the 15 that had survived. I followed a similar plan with the High Goblins 15 being Warriors, 5 Hunters, 3 Rogues, and finally 2 Shamans. With my main monsters back, I just randomly spawned everything else. I know it's lazy but it works. And now I can get to what I want the most.
“Umbra, I just finished restoring the floor. So now tell me how to reach the surface please!”
“Okay, okay my impatient core. The first thing you need to do is focus on the area of the dungeon that you want the entrance to connect to. Then you will it to happen. Just know that when you start this it will take a few minutes to complete and you won’t be able to feel anything for a few seconds. The next thing I need you to know is that everyone on the surface is gonna know that there's a dungeon here when you breach the surface.”
“What do you mean everyone will know a dungeon is here? I figured we would have a couple weeks to a few months after surfacing before anyone finds us here.”

She smiled back at me and replied “You will just have to do it and see for yourself.”
Why is she so cryptic with answers sometimes? I wonder if it is because of the freedom of choice the Nether Gods love or does she like seeing me surprised? At this point I really need to try and get used to it.
So, all I have to do is focus on a spot and will it to connect to the surface and I’ll make my entrance. Sounds easy enough. Plus, I have a place in mind for it, the south eastern portion of the swamp where there's a lot more land mass and very few of my dungeon creatures there. That should give anyone who enters an increased chance of survival.
Here we go. As soon as I started trying to connect to the surface, I felt myself slip into a trance. It was weird but soothing. I could see part of my dungeon begin to fold over itself and collapse into thin air. A low howl started coming from the ever growing hole that I was making. A small light began to appear in the center of this vortex, and ever so slowly I could feel something being pulled from deep within my shining core. Whatever this strange new energy was, it ate through the barrier that had held me for who knows how long and rapidly made a path outwards.
I could feel the surface I was close to it at last. Just a few more meters and I would have an entrance. The closer I got the more energy I could feel swelling and racing to this point from my core self. Piece by piece I forced the dirt and rock around me to part, I would not be denied, not after so long. Then at last I did it, I breached the surface.
As I broke through the final layer of dirt a huge surge of energy left me and shot into the air. The best to describe it is a massive multi-colored tornado blasting its way into the sky.
“Holy shit, is this what you meant by you just have to wait and see?”
“Correct, Alaric this is a breach storm! It’s what signals the inhabitants of a world that a new dungeon has just reached the surface. It’s huge, loud, destructive, and beautiful to look at. Don’t you agree?”
Well, when she's right she's right. This breach storm is amazing to look at. “Yeah, it’s amazing alright.” Words do not do this justice the colors swirling up into the air dyeing the land in different shades is spectacular.
Well look out world here I come.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.
