' i got these designs from a merchant they're based of the special weapon of the assasin hero Al Tair a hidden blade weapon that can pop out when needed now imagine what it can do after i add a mana vein to it. The only thing to decide now is what kind of mana vein to give it. I'm leaning toward mana saw."

i pull out a 12 inch buckler.

"feast your eyes" as i filled my buckler with mana. Mana edge increased the size of it by 8 inches From all sides turning it into a 28 inch shield.

" By Odin's beard." Ded

"be careful Odin might Get angry one day."

i pick up a chunk of fools gold.

"remember that first dagger i made that exploded? Well i can make one now that will have an even larger explosion at the slightest hint of mana. I make a gaudy blade as a trap in case anyone manages to steal from me or my gear."

" When did you get so sneaky and devious." Ded

"Remember that adventer that gave me lessons Laz. It seemed he had a similar history as a illegitimate child so he taught me a lot more then intended lesson. I grab the slab of pig iron

"which brings me to my next weapon. I'm good at throwing weapons. Mana saw uses a lot of mana but it maintained that aura for a few seconds after i let it go. But i can't use it on throwing knives so i need your help designing one"

I Pick the mana bear pelt

"this will make some nice leather armor i'll use some chainmail to protects some weaker spots. A few small steel plates to protect vitals i'll make it a bit big i'll adjust the size with straps. i don't have that much steel so i'll stick with the assasin blade and a steel sword. We can upgrade the rest later."

"that poor boy he went though so much. And he still doesn't know whats in store for him. Eitri, brokkr make that poor boy a weapon like you made my thor." Frigga

Eitri and Brokkr pull out drawing pads and pencils.

" we could make a child size war hammer." Brokkr

" no what about when he gets older, and that hammer will be too heavy. what about a cloak he can control with his mana?" Eitri

"no." Odin

"What if we enchant a chakram to always return it should be good for him to put a mana vein in." Brokkr

"what about a steed, or a carriage, or small flying ship. Maybe a power ring type weapon." Eitri

"no i mean no weapon no anything we can't do anything like that. That world is off limits to interference of that scale after what they did. But we can watch and cheer him on maybe a little help should he need it." Odin

At Dedius's smithy

" i got a few more ideas for weapons but neither of us use a bow or spear in battle. But if testing goes ok i may get a whip."

" So we should be ready in a few days to leave this forsaken town." Ded

" No not yet i want to enter in the tournament that metal crystal grimoire is just too tempting."

" Boy you know they'll never let you enter the tournament much less win" Ded

" Kingdom knights will be presiding over this tournament. It should give me a real chance at winning. Then we take the prize and run."

" i don't need them to love me, i just need them to tolerate me long enough for the tournamet to end so just a day."
