《Lucky Me!》Chapter 10: Skill Tree 2

Hello, Author here. I'm currently overseas and have different time zone then US. I'll try to update frequently as possible and improve the quality of writing. If you have any suggestions, recommendations, and discovery of mistakes please let me know! Thanks for reading as always.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wasn't sure how much time have passed. Though I was able to eliminate some options, I still haven't figured out which type of magic I wanted to commit on. I've already warned you guys! this is going to take forever. Let me explain my thought process so far.
I have decided to not raise dark, light and earth magic. Why these? Well, I don't like the idea of earth magic. I thought of it's uses. The only thing I can think of for it's uses are being able to create a house with earth? So, something like a brick house made out of mud? Can I create soil, mud, or minerals out of nothingness? If not, the limitation of the skill is huge compared to other skills that is available. It's too vague to understand what the skill actually does. I'm a stingy guy so I didn't want to even put a single skill point into something else to test it out. I mean I do remember what Aaron said. According to Aaron, magics are heavily affected by ones imagination, and I know for sure that I lack imagination in earth department. This is probably all an excuse to support my personal preference in terms of selecting magic though. I mean come on, who uses earth magic?
Anyways, Let's move on to the next two spells. I'll start by explaining why I chose to eliminate dark magic from my options. It's simply because I don't know what it does. Like does it create darkness? does it create void? what is the concept of the dark magic? is the magic dark in terms of being evil? such things like putting a curse spell on a person. Is it necromancy? I don't know. I didn't want to risk it and chose to not raise it yet. Every skill point is precious you know?

Now, onto the light magic. The term light magic also seemed to be very vague. I'm guessing that the light magics are like something holy? Like in games? If that is the case, wouldn't it be useless most of the times? it would only affect the undead monsters. Maybe I'm relating it to the role playing games way too much. I mean what happens if the light magic is something like a ray that pierces through every single cells of a person? that would be super deadly. I'm still not sure what it actually does so maybe I'll ask Aaron about dark and light magic tomorrow. Earth is not in my preference zone so yeah. Not going to bother asking about it. As I venture onward I might see few people who use it right?
Alright, Let me move on to the other spells now. I was planning to eliminate fire element as well. at first, it seemed cool because I can shoot out fireball and stuff but when I thought about it's use of it, I had to consider it second time. For example, if I were to fight a monster and used fire attacks it would be fine, but if I were to fight against a person and had to burn them alive, I don't think I would be mentally okay after all that. Some of you may say, "Hey, didn't you work with dead bodies in autopsy class?" well, yeah, doesn't mean I'm used to seeing people being burned alive to corpses. All the negatives aside, I might put a small point into fire to create light during night time. I might even be able to cook meat with that. Wait, wouldn't light skill be better in terms of creating light during night time? I don't know anymore.
Now I'm left with water, wind and recovery spells. I thought about water spell and I might add a point to it. If the concept of creating fire from nothing like Aaron did applies to water, I should be able to create water from nothing. This will help me to not worry about carrying water at all times. Wait, doesn't this mean I can create I can create all the other spells from nothing as well? Jesus, this is so complicated.

Honestly, I should just raise skills that I want to raise the most. If I think about I wonder how good recovery and wind skills are. Will I be able to float or even fly into the sky if I'm able to manipulate wind magic at it's max level? Would I be able to cure anything, everything if I max out recovery magic? It's a huge investment if I were to put points into recovery skills because I won't have any combat spells and would only have bow and arrow to work with. But, what happens if it's that great? It might have such amazing cure ability that I can cure cancer? If I can go back to my old world with that kind of ability I will be known as the person who cured cancer. Well, literally only person who can cure cancer.
Ha ha ha....
.......
"Skylar? Hey, Skylar! Wake up. We are going to depart soon"
A voice that carried a gentle tone reached my ears. Definitely an upgrade then my iPhone alarm sound.
"Mmm..."(Skylar)
"Come on, get up. Let's go. We got your belongings already packed."
This time the voice reached my ears with a tap to my shoulder. I opened my eyes and the person I saw immediately was Sera. Unlike, last night she had different type of clothing on her. Instead of the pajamas, nor the armor she had cloth shirt, leather jacket and short leather pants. She looked as if she were to part take in a southern cowboy moveis. She didn't wear a funky looking hat though.
"Sorry, about that..."
"No problem, you must have slept late last night."
"Yeah.. Thanks for waking me up."
Oh crap, I can't believe I fell asleep without even putting up a single magic skill. I guess I will have to do it later. I still have the ranged mastery skill so I should be okay? I guess? And I still have my gun so I should be fine.
"Oh yeah, Sorry to bother you, but where are we headed to now?"
"We are going to head to a town that's named Asteralis which is located north of this forest. The kingdom that we usually lurk around in is located a little bit further to the north of that town."(Sera)
"Aha, I see. Thank you."
"No problem. By the way, I think Sir Aaron was looking for you. He said for you to come to him when you are awake. He should be over there by that tent." (Sera)
Huh? He wants to see me? I wonder why?
"Alright. Thank you, I'll be on my way then."
I got up from the log that I was sleeping on. As I got up, sharp pain ran through my back and my neck. Yeah, I think I slept wrong. Very unfortunate... Maybe I should've took Seras offer and slept in the tent. As I complained, I started to head to the direction that Sera pointed to.
When I reached the tent, Aaron was sitting down on a chair with table front of him. As he was sitting in his chair, he was playing around with something an object which seemed awfully familiar to me. Oh shit!
"Aaron, don't play around with that!" (Skylar)
As I shouted, which startled Aaron, the object which was familiar to me dropped on the floor and made a loud noise.
Bang.
The loud noise echoed throughout the forest, and faded away slowly. As the sound completely disappeared from afar you can see two people running towards the tent at fast pace.
"Sir Aaron, Are you okay? What was that noise?" (Jude, Sera)
"Yeah, I'm fine. Whew, goodness, that startled me." (Aaron)
Yeah, so the thing that he was playing around with was my gun. Sigh...

Ludwig Lock wakes up in a hospital bed to find a weeping woman at his side. After some crying, more weaping and confusion, Ludwig discovers that that lady was his ten year old sister, and that he's been in a coma for fifteen years. He also learns that the world he had grown to know was no more since heroes, villains, and super powers inhabit the streets, being regarded as a lot of things withing an endless spectrum. Just when he was about to finally get started with his new life, Ludwig faced a streak of bad luck, the last event of this chain setting him up to die so a vigilante can save himself. After suffering the worst beating of his life and experimenting the incompetence of the law, Ludwig decides to use his own hands to achieve justice. He will face difficult challenges, traumatic situations, and probably horrible stuff to get his life rolling. But at least he's got a friend to help him. Not a normal one though. ---- IMPORTANT: I personally identify powers as a fantastical element, which is why I don't find weird the addition of other elements of the same vein if it stays within the logic of the world. New and old chapters get updated with relative frequency, (new chapter every week, though it may be delayed a day or more to problems or some other reason) and the story is in a draft-like state, meaning it will probably stay the same but there will be changes on the prose or writing. Also, I would apreciate if it is known to me (Respectfully) which points should I improve on.
