After the explosion and the vicinity clears a little bit, with the bear cannot be found since the smoke is coming from the center of it and so does the bear. Alexander hovers above in circles to try to spot it.
He then tried contacting Souji.
"Hey! Where are you?! Are you okay?!"
"Yeah. I am. I simply run deeper into the forest. I can see you hovering above."
"Where's the Alpha? Can you spot it from the ground?"
"No. Not yet. I can't because of the smoke. Let's let it clear out first."
"Okay."
A few moments later that the smoke generated upon the impact of the fireball dissipates. They got a clearer view as it turns out. The Alpha had survived.
"I see... It wouldn't be brought down that easily, huh?"
"… I'll try one more time... to cut its neck apart."
"I can't help anymore. I'd used every last bit of magic I could. I'll guess we can only rely on the military now. Sad that we can't defeat it so that we could sell it. I'll be calling for them then."
"It's fine. I said I'll try, right?"
"Yeah. But we need to at least call for help, just in case."
"Get far away then while you wait." Souji then immediately jump into action as he dashes forwards with countless lightning bolts trying to hit him here and there. At last, he arrived in front of it and jumped. With a swing that's been blocked. He followed with another and it connects to the left shoulder. He spins and as he does he took out its eyes with a horizontal swing. "You're dead now…" the monster roared out of pain but Souji simply followed attacks after attacks with his katana. Leaving multiple lacerations throughout the body of the bear but not enough to actually sever a body part.

"I have to do it harder!" And then. An unnoticed lightning strikes his back. "Agghhh!"
"Souji!" Alexander shouted out of concern
He stumbles on the ground as the bear walked towards him and when he looked up. He saw that only the right eye's been taken out, with the other fully intact and unharmed. "Shit!" With largely of his back being burnt into crisp and unable to move. He's left on the ground, helpless whilst the bear's advancing towards him. He desperately tried to get up with the enemy's getting near. Trying to muster all his strength to get up but unable to.
At last. He's within the enemy's range and is simply waiting to be finished off due to his current condition. As the bear winds up its claws up to be brought downwards onto him. Alexander swoops in with the Phoenix blocking its claws with multiple wings made out of blades with the other one slashing outwards but the bear simply dodges it then formed a fist as a bolt of lightning manifested and threw onto them. Fortunately, Alexander managed to flew up with Souji but got quickly intercepted as his foot has been grabbed and they're slammed onto the ground. One of the wings had been broken and they stumbled a small distance due to the impact.
"My back…" Alexander mumbles. *Now I understood. My arrogance really won't take me anywhere good. The world's not a fun place where you can defeat everything, thinking that you're the protagonist. I should've listened to grandpa and did not act like a hero. .. But I still need to finish this and survive as I promised them.* He used some of his remaining magic to thrust him back up onto his feet and began fighting the Alpha with just one blade wing lashing it outwards trying desperately. But his desperate attempts are block by one arm and he even tried using punches and kicks several times but it won't bulge. Despite the boost of physical strength to superhuman levels his battle suit provided. It wasn't enough.

*Just please! Die!* And finally as he tried and landed a spinning kick his face is visibly delighted to see it finally has been swept aside. But then. Its other arm came forward, with its claws now stabbed into him and thus went through the other side of his body making four punchtures. "Guak!"
"Oi!" Souji exclaimed as he saw it. He too desperately tried to get up but his body feels so heavy and tired. *How come… I'm powerless in this place?* At that moment. He still kept trying and trying, out of desperation he managed to got up on his feet but couldn't stand upright. As the Alpha tried to finish the knocked down Alexander. Souji screamed. "Hey!!! Leave him the fuck alone…" He held his katana high that averted its attention from Alexander into him. *What the hell is the difference? Why the hell am I powerless? It's not like this is supposed to be stronger than countless armies I had slayed, right? Then why am I losing here now?* it lunges into him and immediately swung its claws which Souji barely dodged and because of that. His right arm has been severed into pieces from his body, leaving him without a weapon now.
"Aahh!!!" As he screamed out of pain and also has fallen onto the ground. The enemy returned into its plan of killing Alexander first. But not as simple as slicing him into pieces. It grabbed him and opened its mouth ready to gnaw. *What? What are you doing? Is that how it's supposed to be? You're fucking eating us?!* The half-conscious Alexander from the loss of blood however, could only watch in horror as he's going to be devoured whole.
Suddenly. The Alpha just dropped onto its knees. *W-what?!* there's a flash that passed by in front of him and suddenly one of its burnt arms that had been grabbing him has been severed and he's inadvertently been freed from its grasps. As the the enemy screamed in anguish something grabbed him from behind and quickly moved out of the vicinity. When he's left beside a tree not that far from the enemy, he looked up and he's horrified for what he saw. Its something standing on his right, it has a skeletal body and an oval face with fixed expression of rage as its eyes narrows, a short horn of a few inches sprouting upwards and golden eyes, its mouth seems to be absent paired with a long pale ponytail —the same as the bones— flowing downwards.
"What the?" He exclaimed, and then saw something familiar. It was Souji's katana held with its right arm that was earlier black in color but now is pale white.
"S-Souji..?"

That way of thinking, my friends, is entirely wrong. What seperates us from them and them from each other, is simply the skin that we all wear
