《Door to Nowhere (On hold for a remake)》Chapter 7

Why won’t it work? I had tried painting a scene from Nowhere multiple times. Absolutely nothing, what was I missing? Rosary was perched at the top of the painting curiously watching. I had tried to go to that place that was in my dream. But even now it was slowly disappearing the memory of that place.
Finally, I felt driven to do something for the first time in a while and nothing. Rocky lay lounging in my lap now as I took a break, he still eyed Rosary, but he was behaving. My phone rumbled from my bed, still on vibrate it just shook. I barely took notice of it and instead stared at the painting. It was that same clearing in my dreams, the one that I had played in. Something that I still felt unsure about, memories of my childhood lacked anything about Nowhere. But for some reason, the painting just felt off. As if the scene was completely wrong.
My phone vibrated again, god it was so annoying, I tried to ignore it still staring at the painting, but a loud tap tap tap made it impossible, I almost grumbled in irritation.
“Stop ignoring your phone Daniel.” An irate feminine voice called from the other side of the room. Shit, I forgot that Emma was coming over. “I whispered to Rosary “You need to hide!”
The fae woman gave me a confused look as if unsure why she should need to hide.
“Daniel, why do you want me to hide?” She puffed her cheeks cutely. “If I'm a burden you can tell me.” Rosary seemed to have gotten the wrong idea in her head, but I didn’t have time to explain to her, so I scooped her up. Her face grew red; it was pretty adorable.

Where would be a good spot?
The door knocked again, “What’s taking you, Daniel?”
“One moment Emma I’m getting changed!” Rosary cocked her head at that, “You aren’t getting changed you’re fondling me, aren’t you?”
“… WHAT? What the hell gave you that impression?!” I asked my face budding.
“Who are you talking too in there Daniel?” Emma asked impatiently, she may have been pretty, but pretty didn’t mean she was patient.
“Nobody Emma Ummm I’m on the phone!”
I regretted that excuse as soon as I said it. The other side of the door grew quiet, she was pissed, no doubt about it.
“Why don’t you just fondle her too while you’re at it?” The faerie in my hands stated, her face looking up cutely, wait a sec, was she pissed at me too now. What the hell did she even mean by fondling her? Wasn’t I fondling her at all? The top of the fridge seemed to be the best place, for now, I didn’t exactly have time to second guess. So, I set her there, “Seriously you need to keep out of sight for now.”
I turned around quickly and bounded to the door. Opening it a copper-haired woman with ivory green eyes stared at me with a not so happy look on her face. “Morning Emma,” I meekly said, she just ignored me and walked in.
“You know these last couple days you’ve been worrying me.” She said, the look on her face changing to a serious timbre. “You were covered in blood Daniel.” I felt a pang of guilt for a moment before swallowing it back down. I still felt the ache in my body from what had happened; the most significant pain in my chest, the very thought of it causing shivers of terror.

“What’s going on Daniel?” She asked, pulling off her shoes and sitting on my bed. Seeing her there felt a little embarrassing even now, though we had been best friends for years I still had times where I felt that maybe something could happen.
Rocky happily jumped into her lap and started purring. “Aww you’re so adorable Rocky,” The young woman squeaked practically.
I didn’t know what to tell her. Would she think I was crazy? Would she abandon me? Like how dad did? I felt cold terror at the idea of telling her. “Daniel are you alright?” Shit, I thought I was hiding it.
“I honestly don’t know what to tell you, Emma.” Hell, this land of Nowhere both scared the hell out of me and intrigued me. I’d already decided I had wanted to explore this place but at the same time, it scared the hell out of me. Fuck everything seemed to scare the hell out of me lately.
Emma, moved the cat out of her lap, much to Rocky’s chagrin. A step or two and suddenly the scent of her shampoo was in my face, her arms comfortingly around me, I felt pleasantly dizzy for a moment, my heart doing a backflip for a moment.
“Whatever it is you can tell me, Daniel,” She said comfortingly. God, she made this both hard and easy. I debated for a moment still locked in her embrace when all of a sudden she let go, her face in shock. “What is that Daniel?!”
I turn around to see Rosary eyeing Emma. Fuck. Well that cat, erm fairy is out of the bag.
“That’s Rosary Emma, she’s a fairy erm I think.”
Rosary flapped over to my shoulder and gave me a hug too? Her breasts seemed especially concentrate on me, it was fairly distracting. Emma seemed awestruck. Her face blank, “Why is there a fairy in your place that doesn’t look like any fairy I’ve ever heard of, and why is she clinging to you? Rosary seemed to be ignoring the stares of Emma instead enjoying the warmth of my neck.
“You’re nice and warm,” she said happily — her perky little breasts making me feel VERY aware of her. This would almost be nice if Emma weren’t here looking at me incredulously. “Long story,” Emma seemed to have decided to put on her pissed off look again as she stared at me. “I’m listening.” She sat back down on the bed her fingers tapping in a not so happy rhythm on my headboard.

"His name will never be sung, son. Skalds and bards like me will never tell his stories to the mass. But only us and us alone will keep telling his story, his actions, his saga. For he is the man who started all of this." This is a story no man in Lumenter will ever hear, no man except for an Arnesen, for his stories are dull and generic to the ears of the masses, except for us, because he is the very reason why our people traveled this far east, why kingdoms in Erisgi fell and rose, why I... even existed in the first place. He is Geir, son of Arne, called 'the Stranger' by the people. But what he truly is, is a fiery red heart that beats inside every Eyklandian, Arnesen, and me.
