《A Bit of Everything》Empty

There was a boy. He was of average height, weight, physique and attractiveness. He was in the exact middle. Every day, the boy would wake up at 7 am. He would get dressed and go to the kitchen to have his breakfast. Sometimes his mother made him egg or pancakes. When she did not, he would eat a bowl of cereal and some fruit. He didn’t care what he ate as long as it filled him up.
The boy would hug his mother and father goodbye and leave his house at 7:45. His hugs were robotic. He hugged people like he cleaned dishes; he did them quickly and efficiently, without caring at all. He didn’t love his parents, he thought of them as he thought of strangers. His parents wanted to know where they had gone wrong, but he wouldn’t tell them.
The boy would walk to the bus stop and take the 7:50 bus and arrive at school at 8:05. If the bus didn’t come, he would walk and get to school and get there at 8:15. He always arrived there at 8:15. He calculated his steps so he would get there at the exact time.
Once at school, the boy would go to his locker and prepare his bag for the upcoming classes. After that, he would sit down and stare at the opposite wall until the bell rung. He didn’t think of anything as he sat. His mind was empty.
During classes, the boy listened. He didn’t like or dislike any subjects, he just did them because he was told to. He never raised his hand, because he had nothing to say. If he was given any work, he would do it perfectly. He didn’t care about his grades. He just completed his assignments. His teachers were worried about this strange boy who got perfect grades, stared blankly at the walls and never talked. He looked empty.

At lunch, the boy would sit at the farthest table. It was always empty except for him. He didn’t care. He would eat whatever lunch his mother had made him. He would finish it in exactly 10 minutes. After, he would sit there. Until the bell rung. He didn’t sleep during the remaining part of lunch. He was just there, staring at the table. The other children laughed and had fun with their friends. Occasionally one would look at the boy and shiver. The boy scared them. He was blank. He was empty.
At 3:00, the bells would ring, signifying schools end. The boy would go to his locker and prepare for the trip home. After, he would wait at the bus stop for the 3:15 bus. If the bus didn’t come, he would walk home. He would greet his mother emotionlessly and eat a snack, normally some kind of cookie. Then, he would do whatever homework he had. When he finished, he would sit down on his bed and stare at the floor. His gaze was empty.
When the boy’s father came home, he would go to the kitchen and eat supper. His mother cooked a new meal every day, but he didn’t care. It all tasted the same to him. His father would talk about his day, who had gotten a promotion and who had gotten fired. If asked how his day was, the boy would give a detailed report of everything he had done without any bias or opinion. His conversation was empty.
After supper, the boy would stare at the table for 30 minutes. He would then go outside and jog around the block 5 times. He didn’t enjoy exercise, he did it because his parents told him to stay fit. The boy enjoyed nothing,
When he had finished his jog, the boy would take a shower. He washed himself because he was told to. He didn’t enjoy the warmth of the water. He would then go to his room and change into his pyjamas and lie on his bed. He always fell asleep immediately. The boy was empty.

Agenda of the Villainess
As the daughter of a duke, Lady Alicia Senius expected to awaken her latent magical ability during her Blooming ceremony. She was not expecting her connection to the flowers of Fate to awaken memories of a past life, however, and certainly not memories that were somehow inextricably tied with her future. Now, Alicia must find a way to escape the fatal punishment that is the destiny of a villainous noble girl. In doing so, she might even alter the fate of the whole world. This novel is a steampunk take on the otome villainess genre, heavily inspired by the late Victorian era of England and with a system of magic based around floweral circuitry. If that sounds like your cup of tea, why not give it a shot? Updates on Thursday every week.

Impossible Devices
Twenty years after the start of the new millenium, the world was largely at peace. Crime was at an all-time low in most nations. No large scale conflicts between countries currently existed, and the people of Earth had even begun to see hope for the future. In the year 2020, all of that changed. The first occurrences of the interdimensional reality altering zones occurred. Named 'Dungeons' these supernatural and alien existences unleashed monsters and mayhem upon the world. Only after considerable loss of life and adaptation to the new world order did people begin to rally back. The discovery of a strange artificact item in one of the dungeons allowed humanity to develop powers far beyond their wildest imagination. This device worked on principles considered to be impossible. It was not the only one. Items of super-science and magic were discovered inside the dungeons of the world that could not possibly work according to the known laws of physics. Yet, they did. A special school was built to train young people so that they could specialize in dungeon exploration, in the defeat of monsters and the acquisition of the Impossible Devices.
