《Cursed child》Cursed Child: chapter 6

The next morning I awoke at my usual time of six, looking around I could see Shin, still in his spirit form curled around my bed protectively. Smiling at the sight of it I quietly tiptoed down the stairs to grab my breakfast, the other members of the house would usually eat at seven but seeing as none of them liked me I found it best just to stay out of their way.
Grabbing two pieces of butter toast I silently walked back up the stairs and entered the attic, as I entered Shin lifted his head awoken by the door "Morning Shin." Shin fully lifted his head to look at me "Good morning Raikou, do all you humans get up this early or is it just you?" I thought for a minute "Just me I think, being early makes it easier to avoid people."
Upon hearing this Shin grew quiet and just nodded, "anyway," I said "do you have any idea where your former friends may be if there not with the exorcists?" "I don't know, it's been a while since I was sealed they may have stayed put or they may have moved on its hard to tell but I'll do my best to find them wherever they are, I've missed them."
I looked at Shin smiling, "I'm sure you'll find them somehow," I was just about to continue talking when Hiiro burst into my room "Where is it?!?!?" I looked at him confused "What are you talking about? Be quiet or you'll wake the others." Hiiro calmed down slightly before turning to face me "Have you seen anything strange or wierd recently, like in the last two days?" I shook my head but smiled on the inside what could be considered strange by me now.

Hiiro sighed irritabley and walked out the room mumbling under his breath "I could have sworn I sensed it......damn if only I could see them..." once he was out the room I turned to face Shin "Shin do you think he was looking for you?" I whisperd, still worried that Hiiro may be able to hear us. "Yes that is probably the case but judging by his attitude I can guess that he doesn't know who or what he is looking for and nor can he see youkai although he can vaguely sense their presence. Iv been hiding my presence since I got in this house so for him to sense it even if it was vaguely means he must be quite a high disciple he probably only didn't pick up on me the first time because he was in such a hurry."
I looked at Shin worriedly "Is it safe for you to stay here? What if he tells the exorcists that he sensed something and they come looking for you here?" Shin smiled "Don't worry Raikou I doubt the exorcists even considerd I broke free with the help of a human and probably thought I broke the seal on my own and think I'll be on the move to avoid capture, I doubt they'd even consider looking in the same place twice, this house is probably the safest place to be right now."
Nodding but still feeling uneasy I continued to idly chatter with Shin until finally it was time to leave, as soon as we left the houses view Shin transformed into his physical form of a little white dog "OK I said after five minutes of walking we're about to pass the temple keep an eye out." Shin barked once not wanting to arouse suspicion by talking.

Turging round yet another corner we came to pass the temple, the temple was a huge building with ancient architecture surrounded by high stone walls, and on the corner of each of those walls was a youkai "So how is it Shin see anyone you recognise?" Shin subtly shook his head no and we continued to walk down the street.
Suddenly one of the guards on the wall, a tengu, flew down off the walls and stood in front of me blocking my path, feeling nervous I continued to walk straight forward as if I saw nothing. It wasn't until I was 30cm in front of the tengu that it moved muttering under its breath "That's odd I thought for sure that kid was a youkai or that he could at least see me."
I quickly hurryied off still trying to give no indication I had seen anything, once we were out of the temple guards line of sight I collapsed down onto the ground "well that was nerve wracking Shin did you find any of your friends?"
Shin also sat down looking preoccupied and after a moments thoughts he replied "none of my friends seem to be here but I do sense a presence familiar to one of them which may be a family member of theirs of some sort so I'm gonna investigate a bit, I'll meet you at the school gates after school."
"OK bye Shin I'll see you later promise me you'll be careful though." Shin nodded and smiled then ran off back in the direction of the temple while I went and walked towards the school.

???? POV
"So there is nothing new to report?" said the man sitting on a chair at the front of a room "not much my lord," replied the tengu kneeling in front of him "however there was something....." "Go on" said the man smiling "well there was a human child who walked past the temple this morning who had an unusually high spirit energy but when I stood in front of him he continued as if he couldn't see me." "hmmmm," said the man "very interesting I would like to meet this child, if you find him again bring him too me." "yes my lord."

The Heart Grows
Dungeon games? Yeah, they're a good way to waste a few hours. The trick is to know the map and plan appropriately. Of course, it doesn't matter if you get beaten. You revise your plan for that map and do a bit better next time. Man, it'd really suck to wake up as a dungeon heart in a fantasy world you know nothing about, barely able to even work out how to control your dungeon. Lucky that wouldn't happen to anybody, huh? What with only having one chance at getting things right, you'd have to plan extra-defensive. This story should be getting chapters published weekly. I have a comfortable buffer set up and on top of the weekly writing I am committing, a commissioner has donated two monthly writing slots to ensure this remains on a weekly schedule. There will be a stat block at the beginning of every chapter bar the first, and a handy map at the end. All my works come with a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to download, publish, and even make derivative works of my writing so long as you include this license, attribution, and don't sell the works. Keep it free!

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
