Frank looked towards King Anthon and began relaying Clive's words.
"Hero Clive has graciously decided to forgive us but because we have wronged him twice he asks that only those of us who have personally apologized shall join him at the table. King Anthon, Dalnus, Lily, and myself. Everyone else shall... let me remind you anyone who refuses WILL meet my blade.... everyone else shall eat on the ground without plates. As you have called Hero Clive dirty and an animal you must eat like one in his stead."
"Oi Frank good job! Look at their faces ahaha. Serves them right I heard all the stuff they were saying behind my back about donkeys being disgusting, let us see how clean they are after eating off the ground with their mouths! Get the others to join us quickly I really can't decide what to start with first."
King Anthon was relieved that Clive forgave them and that the only punishment was the other people had to eat off the ground. He was prepared to kill everyone in this room including himself if that meant the hero would forgive them and truly fight for the world. Realizing that he did not know anything bout what donkeys ate he quickly decided he needed Fred's help, "Hero Clive thank you for your forgiveness. I would like to request that you allow Fred the head chef to join us at the table. He has spent countless hours these past few weeks to put this all together and no doubt he will know what suits your palate best."
Fred had returned from checking the wine right as David was killed. He was as in just as much shock as everyone else but did not gossip and talk bad about Clive. He was only worried about the food. Hearing that the Donkey was the Hero he was stupified. He was less worried about eating on the ground has made the food himself he knew what to let touch the ground and what were the best parts to save. He was more worried about if the Hero would enjoy the food. All this time he made these dishes with meat and wine hoping to satisfy a hardy warrior one that at least was human-like but donkeys usually just ate grass or veggies. Could the Hero even eat half of the food?!
Upon hearing the Kings request he was slightly relieved as he could converse and at least change some things around or make more of whatever pleased the hero. At least this would serve as a semi-successful feast and hopefully the hero would enjoy it enough to stay as it seems things weren't going very well so far.

"Frank this Fred guy made all this food?... Like by himself?" Clive asked.
"Fred is the royal chef. The past few weeks he has searched far and wide for the best ingredients for tonight sparing no expense. Those carrots you ate earlier were grown in his personal garden part of his collection, a gift to Priest Dave yesterday."
"Quick get Fred over here! Anyone who can make carrots that good and cook all of this is a friend of mine for life!!" Clive responded giddily at the thought that he would be able to have more of those carrots if he buttered Fred up.
"Hero Clive would be delighted for Fred to join us. He especially likes your carrots and is excited to try all the dishes here." Frank spoke towards the King and Fred. King Anthon, Dalnur, Lily, and Frank all gathered ready to take a seat at the table. King Anthor immediately recognized a problem...
"Hero Clive is there any accommodations we can make for you to be more comfortable? I do not believe we have a seat built that will work for you perhaps a cushion or something soft for you to sit upon? "
"Tell him, a cushion would be nice I haven't rested since well since yesterday night."
"Hero Clive requests a cushion for him to rest upon," Frank replied, a guard close by ran forward with a few different cushion options for Clive to try. Clive picked a nice plush white cushion to sit on. Frank sat next to Clive, King Anthon on the other side. Dalnur and Lily on either side of the King. Fred sat next to Clive feeling amazed that he was sitting next to the hero. Something he never dreamed would ever happen.
"Frank ask Fred what he recommends I try first!"
"Hero Clive wants to know what you recommend Fred?"
"I dare say that everything here has its own unique merits as far as taste but I am not sure. What are our Hero's favorite foods? I can offer recommendations off of that."
"I love carrots! but usually I was only given hay by those greedy bastards at the farm. They always ate things that smelled good but never let me have any."
"Hero Clive enjoys the carrots and has eaten a lot of hay but that's the extent of his experience with human food."
Dalnur found it odd that the hero had never tried human food. He had been staring at the pork pig for hours waiting today, seeing how juicy the meat looked with the honey glaze applied just right with a bit of charing on the skin to give it the crunch he couldn't help himself. "You have to try the pork meat!" Everyone at the table stared wide-eyed at him. Clive was a donkey, he might have pigs as friends! how the hell do you recommend he eat a friend you insane bastard!

"I never actually tried meat. I have smelled it cooking and it well it smells good. I guess I can try it as long as it is not donkey meat... actually do you guys eat Donkeys, Frank?" Asked Clive raising a suspicious eyed. Now that he had a raised intelligence Clive found himself prideful of his species and how strong and useful they were. But thinking at the circumstances of his race he was kind of off-put. They were farm workers.
Frank was not sure what the correct answer was but seeing how they had already had two misunderstandings today he thought it best to be truthful. "Truthfully Hero Clive very rarely are donkeys eaten. We respect our animal... friends especially those that help work the fields. If they are ever eaten a famine has struck our lands.
Sometimes back home they would eat them and now that he could decide the fate of the world he wasn't going to have his brothers and sisters killed for food! "Frank I want a law that prevents anyone from eating donkeys ever again! Even after I die!"
"Certainly Hero Clive. From today onwards Clive wants an iron-clad law that no donkeys shall ever be eaten again, King Anthon."
"Certainly! Gaurd quickly disperse my order that no Donkeys shall ever be eaten in this kingdom ever again. They shall also not be killed they shall live their days in good health and peace. They shall also be given the highest quality feed.!"
The guard quickly hurried out of the hall with the message. This caused an uproar overnight but with the kingdom footing the bill it quietly went away no one really like donkey meat much anyway. It was always a last resort.
"I think I want to try the meat first Frank........ grab me some." Frank commanded more so than asked.
Frank was getting annoyed with having to help the Hero with talking, and now he had to get him food. Still Frank quickly carved off some meat for Clive while Fred offered advice to try some mashed potatoes with the pork.
Clive looked at his plate not sure how this was going to go. Not willing to wait any longer he bit a mouth full of meat and mashed potatoes.
"HOLY SHIT FRANK THIS IS AMAZING! You guys hurry and eat too"
Clive devoured his plate. Everyone else in the room sighed with relief especially Dalnur, he had not realized asking a donkey to eat meat could be considered wrong till it was too late. Luckily it all worked out.
Everyone at the table started enjoying their meal while Fred offered some combination of food and Clive devoured it. The people in the hall on the ground stomachs were growling some drooling onto the floor. Clive realized he did not say what they could eat.
"Frank those guys can also eat just give them some of the stuff I didn't like, like those radishes and ginger. Disgusting things."
The rest of the group in the halls finally started eating. Many felt humiliated eating off the ground but Fred was the best cook in the whole City so once they had a bite they damn near licked the floor clean.
As the six people at the table were eating, King Anthon started to ask Clive questions about himself. Unfortunately all there was to Clive's background as he was raised on a farm. Never knew his parents and besides being stuck with an annoying boy named Tim Clive only cared about food and relaxing. He was really angry at being forced to save everyone but also really didn't want to die yet.
Clive having finished half the table himself somehow, no one knew where he was putting all the food, started to ask questions of his own. He started most directly,
"what the heck are Dalnur and Lilly Frank? They don't seem human but they look similar to humans."
Lily was a small pixie. Dalnur a red-bearded dwarf with a silver ax on his back only as tall as Clives Back. Lilly was just a bit larger but much less round more feminine in frame.
"Dalnur here is the leader of the Dwarves. Lilly is the Pixie leader. They have decided to stand with us humans in standing here against the demons."

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
