《This Troublesome Adventure》Chapter 5: Whatever
Advertisement
After calming down I accepted my fate, there is nothing I can do about it, technically the slime did save my life, because I would of starved to death if it were not for it being in my belly.
Let’s be positive! Let’s be thankful.
“Ok. Next!”
I continued and checked the second newly added skill;
//Blessing of God - You have met with God and obtained his blessing, you are currently under the employ of God and is tasked with a yearly reporting duty as an observer of his world. Don’t include any unnecessary details in the report, keep the report short and simple if possible, don’t bother God with troublesome stuff, don’t-
…
//
This God of the world sounds extremely troublesome, I hope I don’t have to deal with him, but by the looks of it, the young man who is now dead was an agent of God who was sent here to do God’s work. How did he die so easily if he was God’s chosen worker?
I continued to read the skill description which included quite a few don’ts and complains about the report… but skipping through at the end it mentions bonuses to the person with the skill.
// ‘Well you get to not die easily, something like getting lucky and cheating dangers including death.’
{warning: luck on some side will remove luck from other aspects.} //
...
Aside from the incomprehensible warning, this is basically granting luck to the blessed person, allowing them to stay relatively safe while doing the job.
After reading over the weird new skills, I decided on a plan for the rest of the day.
First I should look through the corpse of “God’s worker” and see if there is any belongings or objects I need to take if I am technically taking over the job for him.

“I guess I will mention the death of the worker and the reason behind how I obtained the blessing and continued the work in the yearly report.”
“Uguh, that’s quite unappealing.”
Reaching the corpse, I was surprised. It was in a worse state than I previously thought, the arms bent around and mangled, the legs looked soft and floppy rather than rigid. The headlessness with the dried blood surrounding it just made the whole scene more daunting.
I proceed to rummage through the clothing, feeling slightly weird with small snippets of memory surfacing relating to the clothing as I filter the pockets. So this seems to be the uniform God has given to the worker in his world and it is brand new when it was worn.
“Oh right, there was a medallion.” Amongst the surfacing memories was a medallion presented by God, I managed to find it in the shirt pocket. Scanning my newly obtained memories slightly, I gather the medal signifies the ‘God’s worker’ title and allows me to enter various temples.
Nothing else should be with the body, in that case I will go ahead and bury it, it would be respectful towards the being who technically imparted his knowledge to me.
“Although I’ve obtained slightly more than just knowledge.” I murmured a complaint as I moved the body.
~*~
“Ok! Now that the body is buried, time to hunt some animals for food!”
Looking around the clearing, it doesn’t look like there would be any luck here, so I begin moving towards the forest again.
As I got closer to the edge of the clearing, I spot movement in the distance.
A Wood Turkey! I could see the outline perfectly, and to my surprise, the slime’s knowledge actually helped, it had knowledge of various monsters so I’m now even more thankful.

I ready my basic attack magic ‘Fire Shot’ and take aim, a basic magic like this that I’ve used countless times has the best control and the easiest to aim.
“Fire Shot!”
The fireball that shot out of the palm of my hand soared at the Wood Turkey in the distance and hit it dead on.
“Woo! Roast Turkey for lunch!”
I got excited as I started jogging towards my catch.
As I got close to the Turkey I slowed down, not due to happiness but a major failure on my part.
Because I never actually hunted one of these with magic, it's completely charred…
“Dammit!”
Hoping my previous burst did not scare away too many animals, I tried various techniques and methods to hunt with the remaining time I had.
~*~
After hunting animals down, I returned to the clearing with the spoils of 2x Wood Turkeys and 1x Bush Rabbit. Although it took a while, I’m actually quite proud of myself learning the ways of hunting these unfamiliar monsters.
I cleaned up the harvest and roasted them all. Of course I used better controlled fire spell this time. Not having my lunch charred twice stupid.
~*~
“Fuuu.”
A breath of satisfaction after finishing off the rabbit and one of the turkeys for lunch.
I sat with my back against a rock.
I closed my eyes in deep thought.
I’ve solved my food situation since I gained knowledge of different animals.
I think I’ll go through my memories and make full use of my new gained knowledge and figure out what to do after this.
Most of all, I am quite interested in this otherworldly knowledge, I wonder what will the contents be?
~*~
And so the entire afternoon was spent going through the knowledge before I fell asleep.
Kind of.
