《This Troublesome Adventure》Chapter 6: What to do, What to do

After spending yesterday's afternoon going through the knowledge from another world called Earth, I was overwhelmed.
To summarize, it was a world full of history, knowledge, technology, advancements in every area I could imagine. The people lived in peace, they lived in strong houses, some rising high towards the skies and into the clouds, these sky high buildings were so abundant, they were like trees in a forest. Food was the most unbelievable, there were cooking methods I could never have imagined to be possible to be used to prepare food.
It seemed like paradise.
I was so excited I barely slept a wink last night, yet this morning I didn’t feel tired at all, I was motivated!
The most unbelievable thing was the world had no magic, magic was non existent in every aspect, it was a fictional theory in the other world, often written in books, also many stories in books depicted worlds like my very own, full of magic, unique races and monsters.
This is it, perhaps it was fate, I want to use the knowledge and improve life of my own world, improve life for every living race, perhaps receiving God’s blessing also pointed towards this feeling.
I will study and apply the technology of the other world to my own world, and spread the technology tribe by tribe, country by country and land by land. I shall travel the continents and share these wonderful discoveries.
…
“Orrrrrr...”
Let’s just make my own life easier!
I did live a life like that of a hermit with my mentor, maybe I’ll go travel the world, see many things, use the knowledge to make my life a bit comfortable.
“But, if I do that, what if I people notice all the new stuff I invented and then come and recruit me for various purposes like business or worse war potential!”

No no no, maybe I should just do things carefully.
No no no, if I am constantly worry about what I do daily I’ll die of self exhaustion!
Then let’s be a Hero! Wait no, even better, a King! So I can do what I want!
Wait that won't work… I have no idea how to do that in the first place.
“AGHHHHH! Whatever! Useless brooding over this and waste more time.”
I said while shaking my head, might as well just travel and have some fun, and start and deal with the troublesome things later.
I mean the task of doing work for the God is to just observe his world anyways.
And so I checked my belongings and packed the leftover turkey from yesterday and made my way to the forest.
~*~
“I am an idiot…”
After wandering the forest for about an hour, I voiced my disappoint.
I have absolutely no idea where the next village or town of any race would be.
My mentor spoke of other races, the Elvins, the Dwarvins, the Humankind, the Beastmankind and some rarer races including my own existed. I only have ever met Humankind before, they were adventurers wondering on my mentor’s domain. They were expelled by my mentor though, so it was often brief meetings.
Now that I think about it… the books and stories from Earth that depicted a world similar to my own had equivalent names for the races as well, Elvins were called Elfs, Dwarvins were Dwarves, Humankind were Humans, it seemed the corpse was also of this race, and Beastmankind were Beastman.
… so similar.
“I wonder what I would be in the other world’s stories.”
I pondered, since I am quite a rare race according to what I was told by my mentor.

I am of an Ogrekin race according to stories my mentor often told to me as a child, my race are a small isolated community, living in the white desert area or known as snow country.
They are a gentle race often living a nomadic hunting life, however they produce fierce fighters and mages that can survive harsh cold conditions. The unique traits of the Ogrekin race were they had a single or dual horns protruding from their foreheads, composed of a rare and beautiful crystalline material in different colours like that of a rainbow. They also possessed strong affinities with fire and dark magic elements. I myself am quite versed in fire magic but not so well in terms of dark magics. I did however gain light magic abilities after training with mentor.
I heard my tribe would often go to war with Humankinds due to the Humankinds’ desire of harvesting our crystal horns. They were sold at high prices, especially to the rich who buy them as ornement. Sometimes they would even capture children as slaves, raise them up so they can harvest a larger horn when they turned adult.
Everytime I hear the story to this point I could feel my stomach drop, although I was abandoned as a child due to my unusual shot stub of a horn of no colour, similar to a diamond from Earth, I never experienced this tragedy personally but I was still an ogrekin, their suffering would bring anger to any sane person that had even a shed of compassion with living beings.
“How I wish there were no slavery and cruelty just like Earth.”
I voiced while thinking up to this point, if I remember correctly, Earth also had a slavery period but great people in history fixed the issue and up to the point of the last memory I gained, slavery did not exist anymore.
“Well that was a President, equivalent of a king, someone like that surely can end slavery, but I guess I’ll just do my part instead, no use doing what I can’t do.”
I decided to first simply be myself and figuring out what to do.
“Oh a stream is up ahead, perfect, I was feeling a bit thirsty.”
While daydreaming I notice a water stream. Having only satisfied my thirst from water held in tree trunks and crevices previously, I decide to freshen myself at the water stream.
“Ah.”
As I leaned in towards the stream and seeing my own reflection, I somehow noticed right away.
“I would be called a demon race in a fantasy story from Earth.”
My skin was quite pale with a pink-red shade, with bright crimson eyes. Perhaps maybe even a Vampire if I had pointy teeth.
Anyways, enough of my random thoughts and depressing stories.
“Where to go after this.”
I gulped down the water from the stream until-
“Ahhhhhhh! Help!”
A screaming voice was heard amongst the trees.
