《A Cleric's Life for me.》Interlude 1: Swampland in "Florida".

Jack left the stupid new changeling. He laughed his ass off as he portaled back to his personal domain. Jacks own personal castle filled with servants and other beings that thought they were going to obtain eternal life through serving a powerful god. Jack was powerful for sure but he didn't just give out eternal life. He didn't really ever give out anything, or he would give away anything but the price was always much higher than the reward. In the worst way possible too, Jack often made the price seem minuscule and the rewards grand; It was never worth it though.
The servants in his domain were mostly useless since he was a god. He could control everything in his domain. He could summon anything he wanted and create as much wealth or none conscious automatons to do anything he wanted. He never did. He preferred too enslave willing mortals. Not many mortals were willing to trade their soul for eternal life but Jack did almost always take any mortal up on that offer.
Jack sat down on his cushioned throne thinking about what he wanted to do next. He just duped a new mortal into serving him, although at the moment in a limited fashion. Jack was powerful but he didn't like dealing with the God of Law. What he just did was uncouth but not against any law. When mortals accepted the offer for transfer to this universe and they aren't 100% of sound mind they would get godly intervention. That would just normally not be Jack and Jack did technically tell the ex-human his options. Just because the human was "under the weather" and Jack spoke so quickly the mortal couldn't comprehend doesn't mean Jack didn't tell him.
Jack summoned one of his off duty servants that was on call. He asked the servant to fetch him some food. When the servant left the chamber Jack summoned a plate of food. It was a nice thick cut rib-eye stake that was seared just right and to the only acceptable rarity, rare. It had a side of vegetables, mushrooms, and a potato. His cook was the best and one of the few servants Jack actually liked.

The servant Jack sent off was going to be busy for the rest of the day. When he reached the kitchen the meal the Cook was preparing would appear to float out of the room. The servant would be compelled to catch the plate but the plate would always be just a bit faster than the servant. Such were Jacks tricks.
he called in an on-call servant because while the servants were guaranteed time off by the God of Law jack could call the on call servant in if the other servants were busy, which Jack ensured they always were. again another trick Jack learned from Earth. Jack didn't know much about Earth but the "Manager" class there seemed to have plenty of tactics to screw over their employees. Jack appreciated Managers. Even though Jack screwed up the servants plans for the day he would be allowed to take tomorrow off because of the extra time spent at his duty. While Jack did like screwing with mortals he wasn't a monster.
Jack requested another servant to come to his chambers. Requested and not summoned since this meant the over weight servant would have to walk the entire length of Jack's castle to get to Jacks chamber room. This servant was almost an adviser of sort to Jack and the way he screwed over mortals when he was a mortal on earth really impressed Jack. Sadly the mortal did accept Jack's offer for immortality almost immediately or Jack would have loved seeing what he did in the new world. The new servant who was a "used car salesman" class on earth and apparently dual classed as an "assistant manager". He was a wonderful person to talk over how to screw over the new cleric.
About 10 minutes later a huffing over weight dragon kin in a white pressed shirt, blue tie, and holding a black suit jacket over his shoulder came walking into Jack's throne room. There was no seat but Jack summoned a rather comfortable one for the man across from himself.

Jack had to think about the servants name but arrived on "Zach". Jack offered the seat to Zach and too Zach's surprise the chare didn't poof out from under him. Zach realized that Jack was in a great mood.
"Zach, we must come up with a plan to secure another friend for you. A new mortal has entered into the lower levels of the Echo universe and he's from your universe. come now, let's consider our actions for the future".
