《Since When did a Magical World Need Superpowers》Fourth Entry

My brother brought me into a cavern, we had come here not to train with swords, but to train my fire breath
instead. “Okay I will lure them to you, once they get
close enough release your fire breath."
My brother directed to me. “I understand what you want me to do, but what if one gets to close to me?”
I asked trying to calm my fears. “I will immediately rush
to your rescue.” My brother slyly replied to me.
With that, the first wave of monsters came towards me.
The first thing I seen was an ice toad, its toughen is
capable of freezing the spot it touches for about five
minutes.
If you are alone and that thing touches you, then you do
not stand a chance. Even though the toughen only
freezes a spot for five minutes, if multiple spots are frozen one after the other, you are at the ice toads mercy.
The ice toad would definitely swallow you whole, once
you no longer could move away from it.
I summoned the feelings which I would need, in order to
releases my fire breath. The sensation of sparks in my
stomach, traveling up my throat to the base of my
toughen, and fire being lunched from its tip.
This feeling had become kind of comforting after all the
practice I had done. It also seemed to become easier and
easier to preform this action on command, with each
attempt.
I manged to hit the ice toad with my fire breath, and since it was a fire type of attack, the ice toad evaporated into
steam.
The next monster to appear was a carnivorous parrot.
These things sharp fangs and razor sharp wing tips, are
dangerous enough, but if you are outside on your own, it
can lure you away by imitating your loved ones voice.
This thing also has a vary fast speed to its flight, that is
why it was able to stop once it seen what was happening
to the ice toad.
“Oh no, help me!” I shout for aide from my brother. He is extremely agile, meaning he can easily avoid the speed of
the carnivorous parrot. He slashes his sword directly
through its throat, and then places the body in his
travailing bag for parts later. Then he is no longer in front of me.
The next monster has now been lured in by my brother.
What was the new monster in front of me you ask? It was a baby mimic. They trick mothers of children under the
age of three into thinking they are their child.
Once they do that they use their hypnotic abilities to force the women to breast feed them, chomping on their
exposed breast, with their vast amount of razor sharp tiny little retractable teeth.
While doing this they also latched themselves tightly to
them, and begin draining them of all the blood they have. Once the blood is dry and the victim dead, they use those tiny teeth of theirs to chop the body into extremely small pieces, and then eat the remains.
Do not misunderstand me, that does not mean they will
not attack people who are not mothers, or that females are all that can be harmed by them.
If threatened they use their hypnotic power on the threat, males will be dealt with by latching onto the base of the
neck right ware the spine attaches to the back. While doing this they suck the victims blood, but spit it out
because they do not like the taste of male blood.
Being drained of blood they leave the bodies to drop to
the ground, letting any other monster have it for a source of food. When their are no monsters to feed on the corpse, travelers may find the body as a warning sign, letting
them know their are baby mimics around.
Females who do not have children are killed in the same way, but they swallow the blood and eat the bodies in the same manner as they do with mothers of
children, however they leave the eyeballs.
I think it has something to do with them not having the
look of a person whom cares deeply for their offspring.
Like the male bodies the eyes become a food source for
any monster in the area, if their are no monsters, it is the
same as with the male victims.
To avoid being under their hypnotic power a person needs to learn how to enter a trance to control their mind from being influenced. Most swordsmen and magic wielders
learn to do this easily, because they have a stronger
concentration then most people. So if it got in range to
affect me, my brother would defiantly come to my aid.
Lucky for me my fire breath had enough range just to
barely keep it out of my way. The body became
completely scorched and was fully blackened when it
dropped to the ground.
My brother did not send anymore monsters my way at
this time. He went to the corpse, stabbed it in the ribs and cut around to make a hole large enough to take out the
heart and put it into his traveling bag. He could not cut
directly into the heart even with an enchanted sword.
Baby mimics hearts are harder then diamonds, or any
legendary ore. If one forged a weapon with it, they could drain blood with each cut and heal any wound they had
sustained.
Forging it was difficult tho, not even fire could be used to shape it. In order for someone to forge a weapon with this thing, they needed to find a magic user who specializes in mana manipulation, to fill the heart with mana until it
could be shaped by fire. That was not all the shear
amount of mana needed could only be maintained by
someone whom practiced mana manipulation for fifteen
years or a decade if they had been really talented.
Money was another thing, you would have to hire the
mana manipulator, as well as a master craftsmen, because of how tough the heart was, you did not want an
insufficient product. This would cost you at least the
value of thirty eight diamonds, or you could give both of
them two baby mimic hearts each.
Baby mimic hearts are the most valuable thing in the
world, at least if you do not want to get involved with the black market, in which case the unicorn horn is the most
valuable thing on the planet. Unicorn horns are worth at least three thousand baby mimic hearts. The only thing
more valuable is an actual unicorn, but to be able to tame one is beyond crazy. Yet their are people that have
manged to tame two and breed them and trade the young
for anything they want.
Yes unicorns could grant wishes, but only to those who
have proven themselves worthy of having their wish come true.
Once my brother had firmly secured the heart in the bag, we left the cavern. A sudden shock wave approached my
brother, knocking him out, while sending his sword up
upon the caverns entrance. I did not have time to retrieve
it, a fire troll had reached my brothers unconscious body.
I rushed in with out thinking, lunched my fire breath, and got between itself and my brother, but of course that did
nothing but distract it. I looked at its eyes, the only thing I could think to do was blinding by scratching it with my
nails. As I swung my arms towards its face my nails felt
like they are being burnt off, the tips are glowing and my
nails start to reshape and expand.
The tip of my nails are now like the top part of a spear,
round and sharp. I realize what they remind me of..
”Claws, I have claws, how, why, when, are you for real?”
I shout out loud.
Since I now have claws I slash away at the fire troll
crazily, and managing to kill the thing. Soon my finger
nails return to normal. Before my brother wakes up I grab his sword from the cavern entrance. I did not want him
to find out what just happened.
The fire breath training was hard enough I would make
him believe, I had killed the fire troll by frantically
swinging his sword around. I told him that lie when he
awoke. He did not question what I was telling him.
“Alright, but seeing the way it was killed, I know for
certain, that you should not wield a sword.”
My brother tells me while laughing.

Daughters of the Void
Emily is a high school student. Too tall and developed for her age. Her will has been broken, so now, she is fearful and insecure. But that, doesn't explain why those around her bully and despise her. Perhaps... it is related to the dark and deep secret that she has inexplicably forgotten? What made her forget it? The strange being, with whom Emily once made a pact, intends to find out what has happened. To do so, will take her to a world terribly different from this one. Why does it take her to another world? Why did Emily forget what makes her different? Why the hell, all of a sudden, can Emily see three floating panels in the middle of the darkness? What is this? A video game with a lush green-eyed redhead as the main character? Daughters of the Void is a story told from multiple points of view, which occur in parallel. As if they were several series in one, where each protagonist advances at their own pace. At first, the story of each character will advance slowly, so I ask you to be patient. Soon, you will discover a story of extreme survival in a medieval fantasy world. A story, a bit dark, that can also be a bit comical at certain moments. But above all, it can be harsh and cruel to its protagonists. I’ve introduced LitRPG elements in a very soft and almost non-existent way at the beginning of the story. As the story progresses, they will become more and more abundant, depending on the protagonist. Emily is the main and first protagonist of "Daughters of the Void". After her; Dianna, Tanya and others. Above all, I’m looking for your immersion, so I will make you aware of most of the thoughts of the protagonists. I also want the reader to feel some uncertainty, putting yourselves in the shoes of some girls who can't find what they lack. I look for realism, but also to surprise myself. Around chapter 25 there is an awakening of the protagonists. Moment in which they will begin to behave as they really want to be. Unrivaled adventurers. Heroines of legend. The secondary protagonists were created to cover some deficiencies that I noticed that the series had when it was only Emily, so their chapters will be more sporadic. Tags and warnings give me creative freedom. This is the first story I've written, although they are not my first drawings. Be kind with your reviews. I know everything can be improved. Also, English is not my native language, neither is my brother's. He’s the one who translates the story. Constructive feedback is always welcome. We learn day by day. Everything helps us to improve the quality of this humble project. Let us know what you think.
