It has been about a year and a half sense the training started. My body has become more stable and I feel that the stats from the menu truly reflect what is shown. Every time a stat increases there is a noticeable difference in power. Most of the time it is only barely noticeable but nonetheless there is a difference.

Because Splitting wind and Kina can't be taking care of me all the time without me helping out, so I asked if there was any jobs I could take. It turns out that even with the high commercial value a capital city has, good is always in high demand, so hunting was a good option I could take. Splitting wind mentioned guarding and such, but I wasn't proficient in any method of fighting I was trained in, probably due to my class. That and I knew that due to my lack of world ethics I didn't think I would do a good job of “policing” the citizens. There was other meager jobs that I has options to take up such as being a waiter in an inn or restaurant, but I felt that wouldn't suit me on multiple levels. Louis said that I should go for hunting as it was instinctual and It would give me some practical skills that i was lacking. I was inclined to agree at this point.

Today was the day I was going to head out back into the wilds. Temporarily of course, but it brought me great anxiety. Noticing my hesitation, kina decided to go along with me with the excuse of “I don't need to do much anyway” and “it would be easier with the two of us”. I figured it had something to do with splitting wind but I let that go. I felt I needed her to help me get over my anxiety of the wilderness. It was never really my choice to get stranded. I didn't WANT to go into the wilderness and eat raw animals but it happened… and it traumatized me.

Kina thankfully calmed my mind as we headed out. In order to leave the city you could either jump off the pier to kill yourself or fly. Or you could take the wooden elevator they had to sCale up the cliff. Wish I knew about it. On the elevator I got a great view of the city. The city was split into multiple sections each connected by bridges. I was in a smaller section where the city hosted the primary guard house and several homes. I saw the pier that gave a great view. The part of the city that interested me the most was the waterfall that seemed to cut the city in half with the “noble” section hidden behind it. I didn't give it much thought as kina was gripping my arm tightly, trying to calm herself

“You ok kina?” I asked. Clearly curious why she was shaking.

“I am afraid of heights…” she wandered back

I gave a wry smile at that. A person afraid of heights living in a city meant to feel like your floating above the clouds. Beyond the elevator was a small outpost that would serve as a checkpoint when necessary and so that the elevator could have easy access and could be protected. Thinking about the location of the city again, it's surprisingly effective at defense, even though the city is primarily made of wood, armies can't just march into it because it is embedded into a cliff. That, and because the city’s main militaristic might comes from its Air Force.

The trip out wasn't very interesting as Kina and I were primarily trying to locate animal tracks. Soon enough though, we found them.

“I will go around to the front of the deer, you stay here and shoot your bow at it to scare it toward me.” Kina came up with the plan and told me it, I was currently facing the deer’s left flank aiming my bow toward its flank. After I was sure kina was in position I released the arrow, promptly hitting the deer in its butt slightly limiting the deers movement. The deer let out a cry of pain as it leapt toward where kina should be. Gracefully Kina cut the deer’s head off before it could realize she was in hiding. Wasn't she a healer? She was surprisingly effective at using the sword for being a healer. I suppose years of training could to that.

“Good job” I said in English. It slipped out after a long while of not using it. Kina eyed me curiously but never bought it up.

Because kina killed the deer I would be the one to carry it. So the trip back was a bit difficult for me but I bore with it. Unfortunately, our victory was short lived as one of my traumas appears from the shrubbery. The one who sent me on this mess. A gigolog. I froze uncharacteristically I didn't want to drop the deer and run because I feared for Kina, and I need he deer to solidify my belonging to Drachenstadt. So I froze. This one wasn't as big as the first but wasn't nearly as small as the second. I would say it was as big as a large Great Dane. Noticing my plight both kina and the creature acted at the same time. The creature did its signature move of unhinging it's already open jaw to take a massive chunk out of my body, but kina would let it and struck it with her sword. The body of the gigolog was stronger than the deer though and to my dismay it wasn't chopped in two. It was however, still cut. It seems the gigolog is weaker when it was doing this action as even I managed damage on it but not the amount kina did. Kina nearly cut the things jaw into two parts but was stopped about halfway through. Needless to say, the creature took massive damage.

I unfroze then, and for good measure kicked its jaw as well, my strike hardly did anything but it helped face my fear. Kina prolonged the fight until the creature died from the bleeding while I was watching out for more. I watched kina a bit as the creature tried to stomp and claw at kina, awkwardly, with its spider looking legs. Soon the fight ended and we went on our way. Civilization never looked so beautiful even if it was a bit behind my time. The guards operating here took our game and paid us for it, as well as the gigolog. It seems that it was possible to make money from killing the creatures or monsters. This was though, a good exercise for me. It was short because of our skill in tracking and a lucky shot and planning from me and Kina, but it helped me get over my fears and it also gave me some practical knowledge on using the bow. I also noticed the herbs around the area and planned for the future on using them for something.
