《Questline: Our Second Chance In Another World》Chapter 13: Goblin Chief

Cass had to deal with two goblins; the first of which she managed to hit with her an arrow. Despite the increased stats and HP of the level 3 Cass was able to take out 20 HP with her first hit. Unfortunately, the two of them came up on her incredibly fast, and they were too close for her to hit with her bow.
"Cillian attack!" Cass ordered in a panic as the first one got within melee range of her.
Cillian jumped on top of the goblin and managed to finish it off with one powerful bite onto its neck. The second one however, managed to get a hit on Cillian who immediately retreated behind Cass per her orders.
Now that they were too close to the goblin for her to use her bow Cass was forced to switch out to using both her daggers. She pulled both of them out of their sheathes and managed to drive each of them into the goblins eyes killing it instantly.
Cass was in a cold sweat. This fight hadn't necessarily been a difficult one, but things were happening so fast it was hard to keep up.
Cass was just barely able to spot another group of goblins headed over to where Tenjin and Brandon were fighting. Due to the fact that they were still holding off the Goblin Chief, and Ava was currently low on MP she decided to head their direction to provide assistance when she noticed something she completely missed before while she was fighting, and that's when she came up on the horrid scene of the Goblin Chief driving its cutlass through Brandon's chest.
Felix was having a much more difficult time then Cass was since he now had 5 goblins to deal with. The two level 1's were easy to deal with. For Felix all it took was two strikes each for him to kill each of them.
A single pinch from him left each of the with only two hit points. The second one managed to cut him with a dagger, but it hardly did anything. He had only taken 6 damage, and thanks to all of the goblins he's killed during this fight he managed to level up. His max HP was now at 65, and he still had 59 left to deal with the three remaining goblins.
"Alright!" Felix shouted. "Let's finish these weaklings off and then see what other skills I can learn." Felix was excited with how well things were going despite the surprises that showed up along the way.
Felix's first priority with the second group was to take out the level 3 goblin first. While there was still some distance between them Felix cast his Hellfire spell, and right after casting he was in range to finish it off with one power strike for good measure.
The other two were pretty fast and even though one of them was able to strike him with its club he managed to avoid the other ones attack.
"Ahhhh!" Felix screamed at the top of his lungs, and managed to get two solid hits on the goblin who had just hit him after side stepping to avoid the attack from the other one. He was able to finish off the first goblin, but the second one also managed to get a hit in.

His next two strikes hit and finished of the last goblin without any problems. Felix took a moment to collect himself when he suddenly heard Tenjin's Tenjin shouting over at the center of the camp.
Tenjin and Brandon were in a real predicament. The Goblin Chief had just gotten stronger and faster. It was already difficult to hit, but now it was even faster. Worst of all Barndon had already taken quiet a few hits, and if Tenjin left his back Tenjin was afraid the Goblin Chief would be able to get around him. Tenjin didn't want to think about what might happened if the Goblin Chief got past him and attacked Brandon.
Looking at the others I didn't seem like they were having too much trouble, but there were a lot more goblins than they had expected. Nonetheless they had to finish this fight.
The Goblin Chief only had 19 HP remained, but it continued to avoid Tenjin's attacks. To make matters worse he could hear Barndon behind him fighting other goblins.
"Ah there must have been some coming from the southern entrance." Tenjin thought to himself. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye Tenjin saw three more goblins coming at them from the direction of the eastern entrance.
They were almost on top of them, so Tenjin tried desperately to strike the Goblin Chief, but it managed to dodge again. It backed away just in time to avoid it, and the three goblins from the east were now right on top of Tenjin.
He began furiously blocking, and striking at the three goblins desperately trying to finish them off quickly before any of them got to Brandon. He took a page from Brandon and began using his shield like a weapon, then he'd finish them off with one blow from his hammer.
All except for the level 3 goblin went down with just a single hit from his shield, then a strike from his hammer. It only took him one extra strike to take out the level 3 goblin, but once he finished those three off he remembered the Goblin Chief.
Tenjin turned his head to the left, then to he right frantically searching for the Goblin Chief. Suddenly he heard Brandon grunt.
His eyes grew wide with terror as he realized what must have happened. Tenjin slowly turned his head around to see the top Goblin Chief's cutlass sticking out of Brandon's back.
"NOOOOO!!!" Tenjin shouted in despair.
The group stood in silence unable to believe what they were seeing before them. Brandon was almost nose to nose with the Goblin Chief now, and he could clearly see the pupils of its eyes.
He thought that they'd be full of malice, but strangely enough the seemed almost empty. It was like the Goblin Chief had no soul. What was even stranger was how Brandon felt at this moment. When he died back on his world he felt intense pain, then he began to feel cold, lose his senses, and then nothing. This time he didn't feel any of that. He felt just pain, nothing else but pain and the sweat from his forehead dripping down his face.

When the others took another look at Brandon they all made a sigh of relief, and the Goblin Chief began growling while pulling its cutlass out from Brandon's chest.
Brandon fell to the group, and let go of both his sword and shield. He was in shock, but as he lied there for several seconds he didn't hear anyone running toward him. He began to stand up, and glanced over to his status bar. That's where he saw it
Brandon Walker Level 4
42/66 HP
260/800 EXP
It appeared that at some point in the battle he had leveled up without realizing it, and when doing so all of his HP was restored.
Brandon took a deep breathe, grabbed his sword and shield, and got ready to return to the fight.
As the Goblin Chief pulled its cutlass out of Brandon, Tenjin jumped in front of Brandon to protect him from taking any further damage, and managed to block the Goblin Chief's barrage of attacks.
Once Brandon got up he came around from behind Tenjin and swung his sword downwards towards the Goblin Chief, but it managed to step back before the attack could connect.
Tenjin then followed up with a strike from his hammer going left to right, but the Goblin Chief managed to duck underneath it.
Brandon and Tenjin managed to continuously strike at the Goblin Chief each striking from a different side. It was barely able to avoid their attack, but ultimately Brandon was finally able to connect an attack.
As the Chief was backing up it wasn't able took where it was going, and managed to get backed up into one of the tents. It was so small that there wasn't any room to move in there, so all Brandon had to do was to push his sword forward into the Goblin Chief's chest.
He looked at the Goblin Chief's HP. When the Goblin Chief had stabbed Brandon its HP was at 19/159, and after that last stab from Brandon it went down to 7/150.
Brandon looked into its eyes again, and saw its soulless gaze.
"So, you're just a soulless NPC without any kind of conscious who's just following its programming." Brandon stated with a grin on his face. "Now I don't have to feel bad about killing you!"
Brandon's sword was still in the Goblin Chief's chest. He grabbed it with both of his hands, and pivoted to the right while pushing his sword upward. He managed to slice the Goblin Chief in half, and bring his sword down over his head, and in front of him.
At that moment everyone received another notification.
Quest Completed: Reward: 200 EXP; 15 Gold.
The rest of the group ran over to both Brandon and Tenjin. They were all happy to see that Brandon was okay, and impressed to see that the two of them finished off the Goblin Chief.
Ava ran straight Brandon and put her hands on his cheek while she began turning his head and looking for any injuries. "Are you okay!? Are you hurt anywhere!?" She asked almost like a concerned mother who just saw her child get hurt.
"Yeah, I'm fine... You can take your hands off me. Don't worry," Brandon responded a little confused by what was going on.
Ava immediately realized what she was doing once he said that and quickly took her hands off his face. The then clenched her hands together behind her back while she looked down on the ground.
"Sorry about that, I was just a little worried is all." She stated while feeling flushed at how embarrassing that must have been.
"It's okay." Brandon responded shyly while also turning away from her while his cheek turned red. "Thank you for your concern." He said slowly while trying to make eye contact with her.
Ava's didn't turn her head, but did look in his direction out of the corner of her eyes. She started to get a warm feeling in her stomach while she started twirling her hair with her right hand. She also couldn't help but crack a smile, however, she couldn't look at Brandon directly right now.
Then Felix went up to him, and put his left arm around his shoulder. "Wahhoo!" Felix shouted. "Way to go Brandon! That's was an intense fight, and it looks like we all leveled up!"
Brandon looked around at everyone and saw that everyone's stats had increased. "Wow that's awesome. Guess it ended up being totally worth it in the end."
While Brandon, Felix, and Tenjin continued talking and celebrating their victory Cass approached Ava while they were distracted.
"Well, well, well, Brandon is starting to look like a real knight in shining armor now isn't he Ava?"
"Yeah, maybe a little." Ava admitted shyly.
"Well, you better start making a move then before some other girl sweeps him up." Cass suggested.
Ava turned to Cass nervously. "Are you interested in him?"
"His pretty cute I'll give you that. I wouldn't mind having a go at him, but I don't think I'm really his type. Looks more like a city boy to me." Cass reassured her.
Ava looked down at the ground again, and Cass tried to give her a little encouragement. "Don't worry I don't plan on pursuing him. I'm not really into relationships right now, and I think he likes you more anyways."
Ava looked back up at her, and gave her an affirmative smile. "Thanks Cass."
"No problem!" Cass then turned to the boys while she put her hands on her hips. "Now we should really think about setting up camp don't you think boys?"
The guys looked at her, and then looked at the camp surrounding them.
"Yeah, maybe we should get on that." Brandon stated wondering whether or not they could spend the night here.
